general problems of the 2011 Dodge Durango - part 1

My car has had 2 repairs for fuel pump relay issues. 2014 and 2020. Recently, I noticed while driving my car will stall while accelerating on the highway. I had to pull over into emergency lane 3 times during 1 trip before, because the car stalled while driving. Just recently I noticed and took videos/pictures of the car going 40 mph but the rpm moving sporadically between 0-7000. It has always felt like a fuel pump issue but Dodge servicers does not know whats going on. There was never a warning light until it stalled recently. Red lightning bolt popped up. I have pictures if that also.

Engine stopped while driving and steering was pulling to the right. . Was able to start back up and park it. . Has p0303 code. . And p0300 code pending. . . Checked number 3 spark plugs. And engine seems to be burning oil. . Cleaned up spark plugs and white smoke is coming out driver side exhaust pipe. . Will try changing pvc valve next. .

This SUV has had 2 recalls for the same fuel system relay problem, and now after approximately 2or3 yrs ago, and now it's doing the same exact thing again, you'll be driving down the road and it will just shut off and a red lighting built will show up, lucky we had a safe place to pull off the road and get stopped, but this is a very dangerous situation for my wife and kids to be in.

Rear-ended into another vehicle. Car resisted braking.

The vehicle shutdown and steering is not responsive. I have to quickly put the vehicle in neutral and power on the vehicle again without getting into an accident.

All current recalls have been performed on this vehicle. While making left and right hand turns after coasting down from a highway speed (55mph or greater) the vehicle will stall. We will loose all power steering and brakes. No warning lights come on and everything appears normal except the engine is not running. Something in the fuel or electrical system is intermittently failing. I suspect it to be a "dumb" device. Something that is told to turn on or off but there is no feedback to the computer to set a code when it fails. The vehicle is available for inspection at any time. This started occurring after one of the fuel pump relay recalls. It happens at random and is hard to duplicate, while we do have video of it, the dealer has been unable to duplicate it. The vehicle shows no codes, or anything wrong when it happens. Once the vehicle is stopped, shifted back into park, it will restart and run just fine. This has placed us in unsafe conditions in the middle of the opposing lane, in a turn, trying to restart the vehicle before another car comes around the turn. It is also hard to steer and stop a large SUV when power steering and brakes have been lost. There have been several close calls of getting the vehicle stopped prior to going off the road. The dealer has checked the vehicle over with no solution found for the issue. There has never been any warning lights associated with the vehicle stalling while driving. The vehicle does not know anything is wrong.

My 2011 Durango had fuel relay recall fix done 01/11/2021. 01/22/2021 10:25pm I was negotiating �in motion� a left turn and engine turned off like it has several times before leaving me in the middle off traffic. I was lucky yet again not be killed.

We received notice, by mail, of a safety recall (19v-813) on our Dodge Durango in Jan 2021. We made an appt for 1/13 at bob baker Dodge in carlsbad, CA. Upon arrival, we were told the part was backordered and they would call us when it arrived. Juan gonzalez was the service advisor we spoke with. In may, after no call, our vehicle began showing signs of the problem. Hesitating, failing to start. We called juan who stated there were still no parts and he wasn't allowed to keep a list of customers waiting for parts since it would be too extensive. We called Dodge (maybe mopar) corporate (800-853-1403) on 6/1. Aby gave us a few other dealers to try. After no luck with them, we called back. Tim claimed he would escalate our case and promised someone would call us within 24 hours. After receiving no call, we called again on 6/3. Pam said that our case was never escalated. And had no solution for us. Given the safety recall states "a vehicle stall while driving can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning" we've now rented a car since we're not comfortable driving our Durango. I feel both Dodge/mopar and our local dealer are simply dragging their feet on this safety recall.

If it gets below freezing, my car will not start. My vehicle will sit overnight and in the morning it cannot start. We have tried everything. It turns over again and again. This is effecting my work schedule. We need a solution. Because waiting five hours for it to warm up outside is not cutting it.

Recalled 11/14/2019 v62/NHTSA 19-v813. No as of this date. Difficult starting, has stalled several times in city traffic. Have to wait several minutes and pray it starts. Afraid one of these days it will not start, stall on the highway and cause accident. Has been on going since August and today as well. No resolution and I am scared.

While driving at about 25 mph, the nuetral light at the awd high and low shift knob lit up and the vehicle stuck into low. Upon trying to get it to shift into high the transmission stuck in neutral and will not move.

Nothing has happened yet. Only 55,000 miles on it.

Tl-the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Durango. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system) however, the parts to do the repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. A dealer was contacted and confirmed that the parts were not available. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Tf.

The vehicle shut off while driving on the highway (in motion). Have had it looked at and repaired multiple times. The vehicle has a history of not starting after it has been shut off for a few minutes(stationary). After many service repairs and thousands of dollars spent the car still will not work properly. The recall came out November 14, 2019, and have been told that there wasn't an available part for this recall as of 12/5/2020.

My vehicle has been stalling after I turn it on second try it will sound like I'm running out of gas third time is a charm car will stay on but sometimes hesitate to when pushing the gas when at a complete stop car feels like it's going to stall until I tap the gas there is also a crackle in the dash board when car is on ac turns on, on it's own I've contacted the dealer with these issues and they tell me that it has nothing to do with this recall and does not send my car in for an inspection.

My car cuts off sometimes when I'm coming to a complete stop and also does it when breaking to make a turn. Cuts off in the middle of a turn. Very dangerous. At first it was infrequent but its happening once or twice a week. Usually this happens on city streets, hasn't happened on the highway yet.

Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Durango awd. The contact stated her son was driving at 60 mph when the windsheild wipers automatically activated without warning and then the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was unable to restart and the contact's son had to push the vehicle to the side of the road. . The contact's sons attempted to jump start the battery but was unsucessful after seeing smoke. The vehicle was towed to a dealer (hartsville Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram 900 e bobo newsom hwy, hartsville, SC 29550) for a diagnosis. The diagnosis was failed alternator and the pcm module was burned out. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however the vehicle was not part of the recall NHTSA campaign number: 17v435000 (electrical system) the approximate failure mileage was unknown tp.

The dealership sold wrecked vehicle without fixing the engine only the body of vehicle was repaired. Engine failure truck cut off while in traffic almost hit another vehicle. Yes the vehicle was repaired @my own experiences, yes the engine light was on ps the vehicle was crash a second time @jerry ulm Dodge 2966 n. Dale mabry.

The vehicle stalls and will not start at times.

I was driving my car one afternoon after work and all of a sudden all the lights on my dashboard lit up. I turned the car off rested for a minute then restarted it and proceeded to the oil change place to get my car an oil change thinking that would do the trick. Fast forward to Friday off this same week my car all of a sudden stopped working. The car lights blink for a second off the car comes on but otherwise it had not fully started in 2 days.

The contact stated that after receiving notice that his vehicle is under an active recall under NHTSA campaign number: 19v813 components electrical system) the contact notified the dealer (anthony d'ambrosio Chrysler Jeep Dodge ram 2681 ridge rd, elverson, PA 19520) and was told the remedy is still under development. The manufacturer was contacted but with no assistance. The failure has not yet occured. Tp.

Vehicle will randomly stop running while sitting at a stoplight or when making a slow turn. When it happens while driving I loose power steering and have hit the curb.

Since my car has had 74,000 miles I have taken it in for "abrupt shutdowns". My car has been in the dealership more than 1/2 a dozen times for the same issue and they have not been able to make my car safe for me to drive. Car is always in motion and completely shuts down whether it be on the street, highway (literally had to put in park and restart the vehicle during traffic on the freeway) or turning a corner, it completely shuts down and "fsw" flashes. All power is turned off and literally have to drive off to the side (if I am able to), of I just shut down in the middle of my route, put in park and continue on my drive. I have multiple photos that I have taken of my dashboard, showing this "fsw" (showing mileage). Last time this happened was December 2019.

2014 recall on this vehicle 14v-530 p54 was addressed according to Chrysler, but we keep on having the same problem with car shutting off while driving subsequently shutting off power steering assist making steering almost impossible, we have been in real dangerous situations twice now, Chrysler does not further want to address this issue.

The vehicle is stalling while trying to start , the vehicle will act like it's not getting and fuel while driving and will preform a jerking motion as I continue to press the gas pedal down trying to get some fuel. The vehicle was in motion on a 4 lane highway. The cause of the problem is a faulty fuel system relay , I have done research over a dozen time talked to certified vehicle men and it is a recall on 2011 Dodge Durango's.

My vehicle has 69,000 miles on it. It is very well maintained. Recently I have experienced when coming to a complete stop the vehicle for whatever reason shuts off. I have to push the ignition button to restart the vehicle and it runs fine. It's scary to think that your vehicle can just shut it's off without any warning. The dealership doesn't have an explanation and there is no recall. However; there are multiple people via the internet that have experienced this same event. I think fodge should be looking into this issue. Fuel related. . Electrical?? lots of questions, but something needs to be done!!! scared for my safety!!.

When driving at highway speeds and slowing down to stop or exit the road via off ramp or turn, the vehicle will randomly stall causing brakes and steering to become non-responsive. There is no warning prior to vehicle shutting down. It happens suddenly and randomly. It always appears to be when slowing down to exit a road or take a turn. I have to coast the vehicle until it stops and put it into park or neutral to start it again. It works fine until the next time. It has happened six times in the last month.

Manufactuer recall Nov. 2018. Sent recall card by mail.

I had just started driving on the freeway when my dash started dinging and my temp went from cold to extremely hot so I pulled over. There was plenty of oil and water in it(I double checked). I started it up again and it went cold again,as I started driving to the nearest exit off the freeway a few noments later to have it looked at,it all of the sudden it woundnt let me give it gas. It slowed way down in the middle of the freeway. I got it off the freeway eventually it went back to normal then quickly started to make an awful sound. I stopped the car again for the fourth time and opened the hood and hot smoke vame out. After I let it cool for 2 hours on the side of the road it woundnt start. It wanted to but no fuel was getting to where it was suppose too. I had it looked at and no blown rod. They said ot looked like something to do with the fuel something or other. I had it tolled to my home 335 miles away where it sits broke and it cost me 300. 00 thu aaa. Two days later on 8/17/18 I get a recall notice on the brake booster and alternator diode thermal fatigue. The problem I have is my car almost caused a huge multi car collision on I 30 in TX. And it stranded me in a bad neighborhood. .

The last recall that was performed was the p54 fuel relay. I believe the problem is somewhere in the entire electrical system. The reason I suspect this is because the vehicle has lots of intermittent problems. For example, the alarm goes off randomly for no reason since I purchased the vehicle, power locks open on their own, vehicle has difficulty starting at times and then starts right up most of the time, and all without a warning or error code on the dashboard. The most recent problem almost killed me and my family this morning as the vehicle turned off while driving and almost caused an accident, again no error codes or warnings. An investigation should be opened because this is extremely dangerous as the vehicle can turn off at any moment and without warning.

Driving down road. Went to make a left turn and vehicle shut off. No power. No power steering. Managed to pull onto shoulder and restart. Was told there is a recall on this but my vehicle was not manufactured in the proper month for this recall. Very dangerous. Has happened multiple times now.

Vehicle stalls while stopped or slowing to make a turn. This vehicle has stalled 3 times while stopped on a city street and once while making a turn in front of on coming traffic.

Car won't start sometimes. Stalls out while driving.

I have different problems, the airbag warning sometime comes on, the car doesn't start sometimes and stall too. The back door open when nobody is in the car. Backup camera doesn't turn on sometimes. The leather cracked in all seats. Last Sunday July, 23 2017 @ 2:00pm got on fire. Total loss of my vehicle.

Tamara recall vehicle won't start wiper keep going on and they are off it has a bad tipm the brake system makes a lot of noise.
