Vehicle keeps staling on road while operating, and has the brakes sytem failure. No brakes, brake booster had failed and also has recall part for brake booster. . The safety of my entire family was put at risk, I almost crashed into traffic. Vehicle was taken to local dealership, was told fuel pump relay has recall. No parts available, one year later, still waiting and still no parts available. Vehicle has check engine light on. Its appear after brakes system gave out.
Fuel pump relay was replaced under campaign number: 19v813000 to resolve ignition turnover issue when starting my car. After recall was fixed in January 2021 the issue still persists.
2011 Dodge Durango crew awd 3. 6l I have been expericencing no start or stall out on the truck. I have taken the truck to anchorage Chrysler Dodge in anchorage alaska for fuel pump relay recall repair. They stated that over the 3 day they had my truck that it started every time but did stall out twice. They have refused to fix the recall stating that the no start issue did not happen while in there care but that it did start and stall out. It was suggested to me by the service manager that next time I have the issue to have it towed to anchorage Chrysler Dodge. My vehicle will at random not start or will start and stall out. The dealership states they found nothing wrong with my vehicle even though they did state that it would start and stall out for them.
Have tried three time to get mckenny Dodge to fix safety recall for totally integrated power module but continue to be told the parts for a fix have not been provided. Earlier this year the car intermittently lost power and they replaced the oil pump ($1432). Now I have the same problem and they replaced cam position sensor ($280) but check engine light still on and problem still exists so now they want to replace the oil pressure switch and oil filter housing for ove $1,000. But with no assurance that it fixes the problem. Could the recall issue with yhe internal fuel pump relay be causing the intermittent hesitation. Why would this recall that could cause an intermittent or failed fuel pump relay that could cause the engine to stall while driving and cause a crash without warning not be fixed after being identified over a year ago.
I had a fuel pump relay replaced in 2015, and have had a lot of small problems with the electrical system over the years. Once the vehicle passed 80,000 miles this year all kinds of things started happening. The cooling system went haywire and my auto repair shop had to replace the radiator. I've been experiencing problems with my vehicle hesitating to start like it is not getting fuel, and have trouble accelerating so I cannot pull out in heavy traffic unless there is a good break which is absolutely ridiculous having a hemi v8 engine! I've been towed twice this year when the vehicle would not start at all but then it ended up starting when it got to my auto repair shop or the dealer. I was not only embarrassed but wasted time and money. My mechanic did a lot of diagnostics and ruled out everything except the fuel pump relay. I did some research and learned about the recall so I went to the dealer and asked them to apply the fix. They hassled me and said they 'can not trust your mechanics' and made me pay for diagnostics and said there was no fix for the recall. They ended up finding another problem basically telling me my mechanics were wrong and charged me over $800 for a new pcm. They did install a new fuel pump relay at my insistence even though it was the original part and not a fixed part. It resolved the starting issue and I stopped getting any warning lights. The vehicle still didn't accelerate or handle properly and not even four months later and the same problem is happening again! the fuel pump relay is obviously failing again and I am not confident the pcm had a problem if I'm still getting the same issues. Could it be the tipm I keep reading about? the dealer didn't mention that. I'm afraid I am going to be stranded with children or worse that the vehicle is going to cut out while moving in traffic!! this is an extremely unreasonable safety risk!.
Its been about 5 months I have called numerous times to the dealer . Every time I call they state theres no fix as yet. I lost count how many times my SUV has stalled out on me . Especially on the exit ramp of the l. I. E here in nyc. A few times I have stalled out in traffic and I mentioned this the my dealer . On April 7 2020 I took my SUV to the repair shop and they put in another fuel pump relay but my truck is still at the point of stalling out. I was told this is a temporary fix until the manufacturer has a fix on the recall. I am very afraid of stalling out on the highway at high speed . Please help. My hope is that in contacting you that there will be pressure on the manufacturer to remedy this problem before someone dies.
Says incomplete recall, no remedy available for the fuel pump relay or brake booster. I have a problem currently with the fuel pump relay with my vehicle sputtering to start occasionally. Need to get this taken care of ASAP! car sits on sputtering after pushing the start button and sometimes won't shut off from that unless I relatedly hit the start/stop button again.
When driving the vehicle it will randomly begin to stall when driving and power off. Once you let you sit it will start right back up kind rough and then drive fine. Then couple days later it will do it again. My wife was making a turn when it stalled and almost got t boned. We took it in for the fuel pump recall but no parts have been pushed out for this recall nor have been made. They told. Us to just keep driving it even though its asking g for an accident to happen. I asked for a replacement car and was denied and was told I can take it to another dealer but they said the same thing.
A recall for the fuel pump relay was issued 8 months ago and no remedy is available yet. The letter I received states that it can cause an engine stall resulting in a crash. Does the manufacturer have a responsibility to remedy the problem within a specified amount of time? according to your website, this vehicle has had 8 recalls. What options do I have?.
Fuel pump relay switch. Vehicle can stall at anytime while driving, vehicle possibly will not start. Engine light on, cannot use remote start. Called multiple times to over a year after recall notification from Dodge, was told no current fix.
Rfuel pump relay recall, sept. 2019. No part available, or know when part will be available. Vech. Hesitates but has not died out yet. Tired of waiting. Will buy a Ford next time.
Vehicle fails to start and stalls while in motion. Brought vehicle to dealer to issue safety recall to install external fuel pump relay. Dealer was unable to correct issue and vehicle still fails to start and stalls when driving without warning.
On an intermittent, but regular basis, the vehicle (2011 Dodge Durango) stalls when slowing into a turn or approaching a stoplight. Once the vehicle stalls, the steering column locks making it difficult to turn the vehicle. This has resulted in several close calls with other vehicles and even objects (curbs, light poles, etc. ) I use this vehicle to transport my children on a daily basis and am concerned for their safety as well as my own. We have taken the vehicle in to the dealership that it was purchased from (arrigo Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep ram) in west palm beach FL. Eight (8) times for this same problem. They have replaced various parts, and even been able to recreate the problem once, however, every time we get the vehicle back, within a few days or weeks it stalls again. There have been several recalls on this particular vehicle, including one for the fuel pump relay within the tipm-7 and one for the 160 amp alternator, both of which can cause the vehicle to stall. I have included as many of the applicable service reports as the upload will allow. The dealership stated that they contacted Chrysler at one point, but did not receive any answers as to how to fix the problem.
I drove approximately 45 miles from my home to visit relatives for the 4th of July. Two hours after arriving I went to drive my Durango and it wouldn't start. When pushing the ignition button it would just make a loud noise similar to the alternator going out and wouldn't start. My Durango had to be towed to a local dealership that following Monday since they closed early for the 4th of July. Diagnostics were ran and it was concluded the fuel pump was out. This happened less than 1 year from having the tipm fuel pump relay repaired on 7/25/14, which Chrysler later issued a recall for. I'm in the process of seeking reimbursement for those repairs. I strongly believe there is a direct correlation to the faulty tipm fuel pump relay causing the actual fuel pump to fail and should be covered by Chrysler. Repairs were in excess of over 1k to have fixed.
Driving through town, every warning light came on and wipers starting going uncontrollably. Rpm starting diving to 0 and then back up to appropriate rpm for speed. Other dials and nav/media screen also starting flashing. Tones and lights kept flashing on and off and I immediately proceeded the few miles down the street to drop it off at the Dodge dealership. Vehicle was up to date on all service and recalls, except the fuel pump recall which we were told we were in line for based on parts and capacity issues. I spent $1300 to replace the tipm to fix 37 out of the 38 codes, and then another $1300 for a new headlight power module (for the last code) which shorted out and, per the mechanic, shorted out the original tipm (since they are in series with no protection between). The tipm houses all of these power modules internally, so one bad short on a subcomponent can ruin your entire tipm. The recall on the fuel pump power module adds an external component for this subsystem to protect it from these tipm failures, but does not address the major tipm safety issue! from researching other owners' experiences I was lucky the entire vehicle didn't shut down on me while driving. This is a major safety issue! I can't believe that I had to pay for these costly repairs, and all this does is replace these flawed components with the same flawed components again. I have to get rid of this car and soak up a huge financial loss to do so because this car is a ticking time bomb and I can't allow my family to ride around in it safely.

The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer who was to further inspect, diagnose and repair the vehicle. The service manager indicated that the mechanics were hard wiring the power to the fuel pump module versus through the relay as an interim fix. The contact was included in NHTSA campaign id number: 14v530000 (fuel propulsion system). The contact was waiting for the part and the remedy which currently was not available to repair the vehicle. Want to file a complaint regarding Dodge recall notice p54/NHTSA 14v-530. Tipm fuel pump relay. Dodge has advised us of severity of this recall issue and the fact that our vehicle could lose power without any advance warning. They then go on to say that they currently do not have any parts to fix the problem. When I called my dealer the service advisor indicated it could be up to a year before parts are available. Totally unacceptable! we basically have a $40k vehicle that is unsafe to drive. This is the third recall where we have been advised of a potentially lethal problem only to have our dealer say they cannot get parts to fix. Where is the accountability from Dodge?.

Received 2 recall notices for problem with fuel pump relay. Engine could quit at any time. Went to bob lamphere's newberg Dodge after receiving notices. Was told parts would be in after 2 weeks. This info was provided on July 21, 2014. I would be notified when to bring in the car for warranty work. On may 5, 2015 I was informed that the parts are in and need an appointment. Nothing happened until I called chrsyler in michigan and they were at a loss as to why the warranty hasn't done. My opinion, newberg Dodge just forgot the warranty work until chrysled called them. I am waiting for some one from chrsyler to call and work out a schedule to repair the fuel pump relay. Safety recall p54 / NHTSA 14v-530. Terry will woodburn, oregon 503-981-1724.

The 2011 Dodge Durango started having issues with failed starts. It would take multiple instances to get vehicle to start. Sometimes the the fuel pump would continue to pump even though engine was stopped. This causes a very smoky burning smell coming from exhaust and engine. Took car to dealership and they report the issue is a faulty tipm module. The part is on back order but vehicle is unsafe due to potential issues with stalling while running. Repairs estimated at $1200.

Vehicle having problems turn on it's to new to be having fuel pump issues very disappointed in this vehicle and reading all of the electrical issues this model has is ridiculous and something needs to be done about this car before it either catches on fire or someone loses a life!.
Vehicle was purchased on 9/1/14 and began exhibiting problems in first five days. 9/3/14, the car did not start on the first push of button, but started on the second attempt. On 9/5/14, the car was running and in park, I attempted to put the car in gear (drive) and it began shaking side to side. The car did not move when I pushed the accelerator. I put it back in park and hit the stop button and the engine turned off. It started on the next attempt. On 9/20/14, had a similar problem starting, but this time it took multiple attempts and the engine sputtered a bit and eventually shut off. I tried it again and it worked. My daughter attempted to start the car the same day and had the same issue. 9/21/14 experience the same issues with the car not starting. On 9/22/14, I drove it to work and it started fine. Upon leaving work the car failed to start on three attempts, but eventually started. When I stopped 15 minutes later the car would not start again. I placed one foot on the brake and I hit the accelerator as I started the car and it worked. I drove home and attempted to start it again to take it to the dealership, but it would not start. After several attempts it fired up, but began shaking really hard side to side. I put it in drive and the shaking was worse. I put it back in park and the car began sputtering and lurched forward as the engine shut down. I was able to start it a few minutes later and drive to the dealership. It has been at the dealership since 9/22/14 and they have not been able to fix it. I spoke with a Chrysler representative who indicated that a recall for the fuel pump relay would go into effect on 10/24/14. The dealership has asked me to take the car until the recall is in effect, despite the fact that both they and Chrysler are acknowledging the safety defect. I refuse to put my family at risk in a clearly unsafe car!.
Initially it would not start up like not getting fuel. Driving down the highway 65 miles it quit running just lost all power. Now the fuel pump continues to run even without keys in vehicle.

Vehicle stalled a few times and had a issue with restarting. Took it to Dodge that following Wednesday to get diagnosed they found a couple issues the main one being the relay to the fuel pump located in the tipm was inop and causing the no start issue that made the vehicle eventually totally shut off. Replaced the vehicle battery the next week and the same issue exists. Every time when the vehicle was jumstarted it remained to operate until the night when it was dead no response. Seems as though the vehicle times out and defaults to the totally dead mode until jumpstarted the next day.

As of today October 6th, 2014 I am unable to drive my 2011 Dodge Durango. Since the beginning of August it has not wanted to start. It will crank like it wants to but nothing. The fuel pump will continue to run even after the car has shut off, draining my battery completely. Last week I was driving down the road at 40 mph and the car completely shut off. I lost all power, steering and breaking ability. Once I coasted to the side of the road the car would not start! it took me a good 10 minutes to get it running. Then it would idle very low and not want to move. This is my primary family vehicle and I will not put my family in this car. I would hate to be on the highway and lose all power with them in the car. Thankfully it was just me the other day. What angers me even more is that I am paying for a vehicle that is completely unsafe to drive and will leave you stranded. I have been told that the "recall" is not in effect and the dealer who services my car has not even heard of the recall. They did call me back and say they can't do anything till oct 24th, and even then the parts could be on back order for months. Very unhappy with the way this is being handled!.
After several instances of the car not starting for no apparent reason (I have push button ignition), I suspected an electrical problem. Today, upon arriving home and shutting my vehicle off and exiting I found that my vehicles fuel pump did not shut off. It continued to run for 3 hours, until I pulled the fuse that controls the fuel pump. This is not an uncommon problem with chryslers tipm in 2011 Durango models, as well as other Chrysler models using the same module. The danger that a defective tipm presents is quite significant, especially to those who use their SUV to transport their small children. It is incredibly unsafe to not address the faulty nature of a system that controls the electrical stimulus of a vehicle, and could potentially deploy airbags in a non life threatening scenario or stall the engine, or present another defect at an inopportune time that would result in injury. The auditing of these defective systems should be a priority and I most definitely do not feel safe transporting my family in this vehicle, given the high volume of complaints against the electrical and tipm system. Chrysler has a responsibility to investigate these issues and rectify the problems that their negligence has presented to trusting consumers. I thought the automotive industry realized that safety over profits was of monumental importance, not only for their profit margin but for their reputation. I'm pretty sure no one has forgotten the Ford pinto, it is a prime example in all business management literature of how not to operate in an ethical manner. Chrysler is openly neglecting the responsibility they have to provide a reliable product to their consumer, as proved by my inquires to their organization. Tipm is defective, it needs to be replaced on a mass scale, and Chrysler ignores the potential and actual damages.
Vehicle began on occasion, to not start, to shut down after starting and for the fuel pump to continue to run after the car was shut down causing the battery to be run down. It has been determined to be a failed tipm unit at the cost of $963. 04 for a vehicle that is 3 years old. The dealer ship is aware of the issues however Chrysler hotline said they are unaware of any problems and will not cover the part.
