Dodge has issues a recall to the fuel pump relay. In the recall letter is states "a vehicle engine stall while driving can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning". I've called the dealer and told the recall parts are on backorder and would arrive in 2-3 wks. I called, the parts are restricted meaning they are only shipping 1 part per dealer per week and talking to the parts manager my car will not receive it's recall parts for months out. My car is unreliable and unsafe to drive in winter conditions in chicago. This is completely absurd. Dodge customer service provided absolutely no remedies after talking with a customer service manager.
Fuel pump relay NHTSA v62, 19v-813 while pressing the electronic ignition switch to start my vehicle, my vehicle went into a no-start condition where the vehicle cranked several times before stalling out completely. After pressing the electronic ignition switch to the off position and opening-up my driver's door to reset the vehicle. I was able to press the electronic ignition switch again and start my vehicle. This is concerning because I have had the latest v62 recall repair done corning this matter.
The vehicle has had an open recall for over a year about the fuel pump relay. My vehicle has stopped running a few times while being driven on the freeway. At first, it was able to restart after a few minutes. Then, the vehicle did not start at all. Dodge says they still do not have the proper recall repair part made yet and would still replace it with the current part that has been recalled. I did need to have that done to be able to drive. After 2 months of driving an 80 mile daily round trip to work and home, it has stopped running again. I have called Dodge and tried to get the vehicle towed and fixed properly but they act like it is not their complete concern. They are currently not providing towing or a rental. This is very unacceptable for a manufacturer to post a recall and then not get it properly fixed in over a year time frame.
~tl-the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Durango. The contact received notification of NHTSA recall number: 19v813000 ( electrical system) however, the part to do the recall repair was not yet available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The contact gladstone Dodge Chrysler Jeep & ram 5610 n oak trafficway, gladstone, mo 64118 (816) 455-3500 the vehicle stalls intermittently without 60 mph, the vehicle stalled as the vehicle lost power the contact coasted the vehicle to the shoulder of the road. Where the contact turned the vehicle off and back on which resume back to normal. The dealer gladstone Dodge Chrysler Jeep & ram 5610 n oak trafficway, gladstone, mo 64118 (816) 455-3500 was contacted however informed the contact that remedy is not available for the recall repair. The vehicle was diagnosed that the fuel pump relay faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure recurred. No leaks present. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. VIN tool confirms parts not available. The failure mileage was 190,000. Ck.
8/26/2020 fuel pump relay failed, was towed to dealership, I had to pay out of pocket for for the interim repair and had to submit for reimbursement from Dodge. A week later the vehicle stalled out going down hill, twice in one day. The vehicle will have to go back to the dealership once the official parts come in, ( everything is delayed due to covid).
This is in reference to the recall on Dodge Durango fuel pump relay. Since this recall has still not been opened to be fixed, I am at the point where my vehicle is not starting because of it. If it does start I am worried of the possibility of it causing vehicle to stop while driving. I have four children and this is not acceptable. Like many others in this time of covid, I do not have the funds to fix this expensive recall. Is there any update on when this can be fixed? I have called the dealership and they said it is still not approved. This started about 3-4 weeks ago and now is getting worse. Car wouldn't start at all yesterday. I have scanned and checked everything with mechanic. He says it is recall item he believes.
My Durango has stalled numerous times. The recall for the fuel pump relay recall has been performed and replaced and two new relays have been installed. The last relay lasted two months and failed completely yesterday. My car has been towed to a dealership. There is an open recall on this issue with no timeline for a fix. I was lucky enough yesterday to get the car to a parking space instead of pulling into traffic on a busy road before it died.
Fuel pump relay recall still not fixed. This is one of the vehicles that is failing. It is a danger to drive. It stalls driving down the road, takes a very long time to start. When it stalls the braking fails (my main concern). Contacted Chrysler multiple times and they tell me keep driving the car, no fix anytime soon. The recalll started last year. A deadline or another temporary vehicle should really be put in place.
Vehicle has stalled multiple times. Either right after start up or while driving. In all cases I have found that the 20 amp fuse that was installed for recall r09 from 2015 is melting and causing the fuel pump relay to fail which is causing the stall condition. The fuse is easily replaced but the stalling is becoming more and more frequent, happening at least once a week. Dodge says there is no remedy for this and there are no parts to just replace the current set up. So now I am stuck with this issue until Dodge figures out what is wrong. Each instance of stalling has occured at 25 mph or less but its only a matter of time before it happens at a higher speed.
My 2012 Dodge Durango has lost all power while I have been driving it. Today is the 4th time this has happened in about 2 months. I have been driving and without any warning the car stops running and all electrical is gone, my dash is blank. I was almost in an accident today. I pulled out on a busy street and lost all power. I was able to stop in the middle turn lane and put it in neutral. It is very scary each time it happens without warning!!! this issue must be addressed and fixed. My safety and my family's safety is at stake! I am afraid and won't drive it on the interstate. This engine failure has happened 4 times in the last couple of months. This sounds like manufacturer recall # v62, NHTSA recall # 19v-813 with the stall condition while driving the vehicle. A fuel pump relay failure.
Stalling randomly while driving all power cuts out. Huge safety concern. Still at dealership 3 months later for a recall and no piece available yet according to Chrysler. Fuel pump relay. No estimated date for replacement. Beyond upset. I want my vehicle back . Chrysler needs to get a remedy and fast for its customers. It's a huge safety issue and people need their own vehicles. Not a rental it shouldn't take this long. They should have a piece made or at least an estimated time when they will have it for customers.
Tl the contact owns a 2012 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that the engine failed to start. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuel pump failed. The fuel pump was replaced; however, the failure was not corrected. The manufacturer was contacted. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 15v115000 (electrical system). The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 100,000.
Regarding safety recall r09 / NHTSA 15v-115 fuel pump relay - 2012-2013 Dodge Durango & Jeep grand cherokee this recall was performed on my vehicle a few months ago, the other week the fix failed several times starting the car and once while the car was in motion. I took it back in to the dealer to get the fix redone, in the two days since the redo the car has already not started several times and stopped supplying power to the fuel pump while the car was in motion once. So in short, the fix for the original safety issue does not work and is even worse than before the fix. Searching online several other people also have had the fix fail on them as well.
3 years after having my fuel pump relay recall performed on my 2012 Durango crew the same exact symptoms are happening. Stalling out while driving and the car will try to crank but not fully turn over. Put the Durango in the shop and it's the same problem again the fuel pump relay and we have to pay out of pocket for the repair. This part should not be failing again after a 30,000 mile 3year difference on a 70,000 mile car. What ever parts they used for recall are faulty and eventually fail. I should not have to have my fuel pump relay changed again on this car. Dodge needs to take responsibility and fix the issue the first time and not put burden on their customers of their defects. I'm putting this out there for anyone having the same issue after their recall was fixed. Complain! so we aren't responsible for Dodge mistakes.
The fuel pump relay harness wire that connects to the tipm box is causing problems with the vehicle to start. The added wire makes the other connections heat up and that has made a hole in the fuse box already and the fuel pump harness connection wire is burning up.
External fuel pump relay installed as part of recall r09 has failed 2 years after replacement. The vehicle refused to start numerous times before finally completely non starting on 9. 30. 17 while at my home.
Recall 19v-813 is for safety and has not been resolved since the engine began stopping in 2013 nor since the first recall or since the second recall in November 2019. This is a safety issue and I have had the car stop while driving and not restart. Sometimes it does not start in the garage. I hit the fuel pump relay with a hammer and it will work for a little while. Dodge does not allow me to fix this myself. Can I have a new car?.
We had a recall fixed on the fuel pump relay and since then the vehicle stalls while driving. Didn't do that before the work.
My Dodge durando 2012 have to many problems my car stop withn is running several times a take to dealer the change the fuel pump and the nex day have enegine ligth take back to dealer now the said is catalyst , and arent but my car 2012 I believe is not to old to have to many problems I believe it's all factory default.
The fuel pump is not working it is not getting gas unable to turn on car. The car was stationary.
08-10-15 I called the dealership where I bought my vehicle, cowboy Chrysler 409-385-3796 about the notice I received about two safety recalls r09 fuel pump relay and p36 sun visor wiring. I was told the dealership had gotten in 15 of the parts and used all 15 to repair vehicles. I was told I would be put on a list and called when more parts came in to the dealership. 08-21-15 I called the dealership again and was told they had gotten in 18 of the parts and I am third on the list to be called when more parts come in. Can you help me get the necessary repair parts delivered to this dealership?.
The fuel relay was recalled on my car (NHTSA # 15v-115); I was trying to drive and the car would not function. I took it to a Dodge mechanic who stated that the problem was the internal fuel relay pump that failed. This is part of the tipm. The part that failed was part of the recall. Prestige Dodge stated that they would not fix the part, as the specific recalled part (part of the tipm) failed but there is no replacement. I called Dodge customer care (case number 27223921) and was informed that I could either pay for full repair (as they would not cover the tipm replacement) or "drive with a faulty part"--those last were the Dodge rep "katelyn's" exact words. I would not need the new tipm unless the fuel pump (which was recalled) failed--I was willing to take only the internal fuel pump, but Dodge refuses to provide this part. At this point, Dodge and prestige Dodge is requesting that I pay out of pocket for a part failure caused, and acknowledged, but Dodge. I am requesting assistance to make Dodge uphold their part of the NHTSA recall and fix my car. There is a fix (replace the tipm), but they feel they shouldn't pay for it. The part has already failed, and they need to resolve the issue.
The local Dodge dealership plaza Dodge inverness florida has not been able to repair my vehicle. Recalled for a fuel pump relay switch which could malfunction causing my vehicle to "stall while driving and cause a crash without warning". They tell me it could "easily be 6 months before they get the parts". This is unacceptable, this is a danger to my family and all the other vehicles on the road! recall was received in June 2015. That is too long for this to wait.
R09/NHTSA 14v-115 parts not available until sept - notice states that fuel pump could fail and car will stall. I drive kids around all day and do not need the added stress of wondering if my car is going to fail in the middle of traffic. Its ridiculous to expect people to wait 6 months to get a vehicle fixed. This is the third recall on the vehicle for parts failing - in my opinion that speaks volumes toward the quality of vehicle Dodge provides, not to mention the poor service of not getting the right parts out to fix a potentially dangerous problem. Seriously. . . . Why send out notices if there are no plans to fix an issue for 6 months. I'll never buy another Dodge, this is my first and last - I've owned Chevrolet all my life and never had this many problems.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Durango. The contact stated that it took several attempts to start the vehicle. The vehicle would not start until after the fuel pump relay fuse was disconnected and reconnected. The failure recurred on several occasions. While driving approximately 10 mph, the vehicle stalled without warning. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 15v115000 (electrical system); however, the part needed to do the repair was unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 85,000.
Most times when I go to start the truck it will not start. If it does start it dies immediately. When I try to start it again, the starter seems to get stuck, so I turn the key off and have to try it again. Eventually it will start and run normal. Just this morning, I went to move the vehicle, and it had no power. Once I hooked up the jumper cables I could hear a humming noise, which I assume would be the fuel pump, as I have read many complaints online about it not turning off due to the tipm. After I started it and let it run for a while I shut it off and could still here the fuel pump. I should not have to pull the fuse so that my battery will not die due to a defective part. I just got this truck a little over 2 months ago and have had the starting problem since I've got it. Now I got this fuel pump issue. I should not have to pay for something that Chrysler is aware of and, at this point, has chose not to do anything about.
Drove the vehicle into the dealer for an oil change and was told the external fuel pump relay harness needed to be replaced. When asked what would happen if it wasn't replaced they told me the car would not start. I find this very odd that I was able to drive the vehicle in. Then doing an investigation found that this same module was a recalled item in the 2011 version of my vehicle. Would like to find out if this recall needs to be expanded to include the 2012 year model Durango.
Vehicle fails to start properly. Upon starting, vehicle gets stuck in turnover mode. Vehicle starts and shuts off within seconds. Vehicle is difficult to start. Vehicle is not included in recent recall of fuel pump relay.
In my 2012 Dodge Durango it was determined that there is a problem with the total integrated power module which is affecting the way the engine starts and gets fuel to the fuel pump. The repair cost is $1213. 71. It is my understanding that there are hundreds of documented cases regarding this issue in the Chrysler line and nothing has been done to correct the problem. It is unfortunate that Chrysler is awaiting a tragedy to take place before they do what is right for the customer and fix the problem that has been reported. I understand that a class-action lawsuit has been filed to address this issue. I just want to go on record in the event that something detrimental happens to me or my family because of this recognized and publicly documented part failure.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Durango. While turning the ignition key to start the vehicle, the contact heard a clicking noise and the engine would not start. The contact was able to start the engine after several attempts. In addition, while stopped at a red light, the vehicle suddenly stalled. The vehicle was towed to the dealer who diagnosed that the wiring for the fuel pump relay inside the totally integrated power module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 38,000.
At about 54k/56k miles the airbag and check engine light began to go on and off. When I got it checked they did not report anything outside of air is system but that was covered in the diagnostic. Then the car would make sudden jumps for no reason, airbag and engine and brakelights repeadedly came on and off. While attending my nephew funeral I got it checked since I would be on the road for no less than 4 hrs. I later found out there was a break recall once I got that fixed (16 Dec) the dash was flashing everything airbags, brakes, engine. Once I parked the car the nest day it would not come on. A jump did not work. Had it towed and told it was the fuel pump system for a car just a little over two years old and that Chrysler was only paying for 2011 Durangos for this issue. So I am paying in less than a week over $800 for an item clearly thats an issue and was told I should have gotten an extended warranty to avoid not paying factory defected equipment. Dissappointed as I always buy american but chyrsler just lost a customer and gained negative advertisement.
Was driving down the road on the way to the garage as the vehicle had been having difficulty starting on 4 or 5 occasions over the previous days. As I was driving down the road the vehicle shut off, no gas nothing. I was able to coast the vehicle to a safe place and eventually it started back up again. Took the vehicle the dealership on 9-8-2014 and was advised that it was the relay from the tipm to the fuel pump. I have since learned that there was a recall on 2011 models for this same thing; but my SUV is a 2012 model. I wanted to file the complaint as this is a dangerous situation and clearly it is happening in models other than the 2011. The repairs were almost $300. 00 for a problem that it seems like other models are having just as the 2011 Durangos.
Durango cranks and doesn't turn over or starts and then stalls after short distance. Local dealer has repaired fuel pump. Recall presently only includes 2011's and should be extended to all effected years.
My Durango has had many problems when trying to start it since I initially purchased the vehicle. I have taken it into the dealership about 7 times trying to figure out why it won't start on many occasions. I will also start and then shut down immediately. It is no longer under warranty and even after getting the r09 fuel pump relay fix I still have the exact same problem. After doing countless hours of research it appears it is the actual tipm that has gone bad and will cost me around 1500$ it is a disgrace that Dodge will not just recall the bad tipm. There are thousands of people online with the exact same problem as me and I would really appreciate it if you all will look into this more considering how dangerous it is especially if driving on a highway and your vehicle just shuts down for no apparent reason which is one of the symptoms of this bad tipm. Thank you.
On Jan 24th and on Feb 7th, the Dodge Durango did not start and was towed via roadside assistance to the 5 towns chrylser dealership for repairs that cost unnecessary 1200. 00. An external fuel pump relay was installed by the dealer. This is a s a result of an inadequate, faulty and defective the fuel pump relay which caused the car to stop running. This can cause accidents and loss of lives.
