Takata recall. Recall for the alternator. I was driving on a very busy high way 77south speed limit 65 mph with my family n the vehicle when my vehicle suddenly started slowing down and I was unable to steer . My car had completely shut off nothing electrical worked. It put my family and I in a very dangerous situation with out any warning. And now I had to buy a brand new battery.

2013 Dodge Durango problem. The alternator diades on vehicle may experience a radip failure.
As of 7/28/2017, while driving on the highway the alternator went out causing the computer system to also go out and the car stall having no power . The vehicle had to be tow to the repair shop.
Alternator caught on fire, impacting my battery and after getting this fixed I am still having problems with the vehicle failing after I just got it out of the service center. The first time the alternator caught on fire it was in idle, stationary. The second altercation after picking it up from the dealership it had interior/exterior lights going on and off along with my windshield wipers operating while off. I have had a number of problems since purchasing this vehicle and believe I was sold a lemon. I would like to get this addressed ASAP! thanks much.
My vehicle completely shuts down while I'm driving. I replaced 2 fuel relays already. Took it again to get looked at and the dealership didnt have an answer for me. It's a safety issue. It's been going on for 2 years.
I hear a very loud knocking noise when I accelerate, I thought it was coming from the front window which I had replaced and it continues to make the loud noise when you reach like 50 mph and sometimes even less.
As we were driving down the road at approx 50 mph and our Durango shut down completely and would not turn on. There was smoke coming from the engine as well. It scares me to think that a vehicle can just shut down with no warning and your left to pull yourself and your family to safety and pray that another vehicle will not hit you from behind. We pulled to the side of the road but we were still blocking traffic. It had to be towed to the dealership and after they charged us $125 just for checking it, they discovered it was the alternator. The part and the labor will be $900. .
I am the first and only owner of a Dodge Durango 2013: on Dec 25th I was left stranded with my car, windows open and unable to move it anywhere. It literally died and had to leave it along the roadside since I was with my 4 small children. I was driving, and the car started with a weird noise, then smoke started coming out, the all the ligths on the dashboard started to flash, the temperature was always informed as normal, then the windshield wippers started to work on its own and then the car literally died. There was no possibility of ignition nor nothing. The car had to be towed away by a special truck since it had to pick up the car and place it on the truck, since there was no possibility to have ignition. The most strange thing is that on December 12, the car was out of the doge workshop for the 40,000 km revision with no problem. So far I have been informed that the central computer of the car died, the battery was burned and the alternator died. . . . . . . . . . . . All this information is provided by the garage where my car is at. Is this a problem that I have to pay for or is it a problem that the company will pay for everything? please advice me on how to proceed.
This vehicle was purchased new in November of 2013. Since that time we have received 4 recall notices on the vehicle. Two notices for p14/NHTSA 14v-154 (brake booster). One for p36/NHTSA 14v-391 (sun visor wiring). One for r09/NHTSA 14v-115 (fuel pump relay). We have called the selling dealer regarding the brake booster and the sun visor and still have not received any type of notification of parts received to repair. Yesterday, we received the recall regarding the internal fuel pump relay, with verbiage that fiat Chrysler automobiles (fca) does not currently have the part available to perform a "permanent remedy. " two of them are said to possibly cause a fire and the other a possible crash. For Chrysler group llc/fca us llc to be able to go this long with out repairing these defects is simply not acceptable.
The recall issued to me back in April has not been resolved. The dealership claims that the part has been ordered, but I am still waiting for their call for service. The recall r09 has not been corrected. I would like to have resolution to this as soon as possible. If there is a safety risk involved, it should be a priority to fix.
Another recall notice sent by Dodge which causes a safety risk to those in the car and a remedy is still not available. We contacted the dealer and they told us the part is not available and to wait for a second notice. We have not received any calls or follow up notices with regards to this recall notice 14v-634 which came out on Dec 1, 2014. As of today the issue has not yet been corrected by the dealer. We do not feel safe driving our Dodge Durango with a safety risk that could cause vehicle shutdown while driving and/or or underhood electrical fire.
We were traveling on the highway when we heard a pop then it sounded like a bag was stuck to the roof of our car and was flapping in the wind. We started to open the sunroof shade when we noticed the sunroof glass was broken. We were not hit by any road debris and after stopping to look over the damage we noticed the sunroof glass was blown out not in. The left over sunroof glass on the driver side corner was sticking up. We believe the sunroof glass exploded out.
Safety recall p60/NHTSA 14v-634 states driver will have limited or no detection of the alternator failing, which can result in vehicle shutdown while dirving and/or an underhood electrical fire. Received notice in mail November 2014. Still do not have parts to fix. I am driving an unsafe car everyday and paying for it and nobody can do anything about it until I experience a crash. I can get a ticket for not wearing a seat belt and talking on a cell phone, but a safety recall on a car I am driving everyday, which effects me, my passengers and all cars on the road does not seem to matter to Chrysler.
I was told by my Dodge dealer that Dodge is sending only one brake repair a week. I have been waiting since August of 2014, they told me maybe by June of 2015 they might have my brake part. What is Dodge's problem?.
I have a recall on my brake booster and the dealer is saying that parts are coming in a little bit at a time. It is going to be about 2 months before it can be fixed. If there is a recall, I feel as though the parts should be sent out in enough quantity for people to get their vehicles fixed. I have contacted 2 dealers in my area and got the same response. I think it's ridiculous for a recall to be issued, but the parts not available to get it fixed.
Rattling noise from dashboard on driver's side noted earlier, but brought to service attendant's attention on the given date. Was told the sound/noise could not be duplicated, but if I could bring in video with sound they would be able to determine issue. I made an appointment for 07/12/14 to have this and other issues addressed. When I showed up for my appointment, I was told the electricity had been out the day before and they were backed up with customers (at 8:05 am) and only accepting oil changes. They took down all vehicle information/service information and told me they would contact me to schedule a new appointment to address all concerns. It is now 08/05/2014 and I have yet to receive a return phone or email. The rattling noise can be duplicated if I am driving over a smooth or bumpy road, and can be heard between 30+ mph. I have it on video now, with sound. No one to listen to it and fix the problem.
Received recall notice p14/nhtsa14v-154 from Chrysler regarding the brake booster. Asked for this to be addressed on the above scheduled appointment date of 06/10/2014. I was told by the service assistant she did not have the parts in, but they expected to have the parts in 2-4 weeks. She asked that I give her a call or send her an email to verify the parts were in and schedule an appointment. I had an appointment scheduled for 8am on Friday, 07/12/14, and when I showed up I was told the dealership could not handle any of the scheduled appointments they had; they were only able to service oil changes. She said the electricity had been out the day before, their systems were still having trouble, and they could not handle the customer load. She said they had to take all the customers' information on paper and would call each customer back to schedule a new appointment. It is now 08/05/2014 and I have yet to hear from this dealership.
The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Durango. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign numbers: 14v154000 (service brakes, service brakes, hydraulic), 14v391000 (electrical system), 14v115000, and 14v115000 (equipment, tires). The contact stated that the parts were not available for the recall repairs. The dealer did not give a specific date for when the parts would become available. The manufacturer was notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure.
As I was driving on I-35 north in iowa - rain was just starting - no other vehicles nearby, no birds, overpasses, etc - the sunroof exploded into a thousand tiny pieces. Luckily, the sunroof cover was closed as it kept all the glass from falling into the car. There appears to be no simple explanation why this happened. The service mechanic at a Dodge dealership said it appeared to be faulty glass although Dodge will not accept a claim under my warranty.
Vehicle stalls and then power goes off while being driven on occasion. Vehicle will not start on first try. Multiple tries are necessary before vehicle starts. This has been going on for some time. Date on "when did this happen" is approximate as it happens on multiple occasions.
Had horrible smell coming from cooling system. Took in numerous times to dealership to try and fix. Finally stumped the dealership asked star at Chrysler headquarters. They immediately knew the issue and gave mechanics steps to fix. Turns out the new "green friendly" engine coolant they are using on the new Durangos was never tested. The coolant was interacting with anything rubber it came into contact with and was breaking down the rubber. Star told them to replace every piece of rubber the coolant comes into contact with. It is now middle of August and the smell is still present and to date Chrysler has not issued a service bulletin or recall on the coolant or hoses. We have submitted paper work for the lemon law.
