1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2025

While driving , the car just shuts off and the steering wheel and breaks lock. No matter how fast you’re going. Took to the mechanic and he said it was the win system.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/21/2023

While driving down the road, my vehicle will completely shut off and shut down. Sometimes, emphasis on the sometimes, I can push my key into the ignition a bit more and it will start back up. I lose all function and control of my vehicle. My dash lights and exterior lights completely shut off. I can't steer my car and it comes to a complete stop within seconds because everything locks up. I have had this happen more times than I can even count. It has happened in the middle of me turning at an intersection and has almost caused a collision. I took it in for a diagnosis and was told that there was nothing wrong with my vehicle and they didn't know why it was doing that. There is absolutely no warning for when this will happen. The speed that it happens at varies as there is no rhyme or reason. It happened when my care had 95,000 miles and still to this day. It happens at least 4 times a week. I have read forums where other people with the same vehicle have had this happen to also.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2021

After my vehicle stalled while driving as stated by the prior recall, I have had the same problem as though my car will just stop running at any time. It is quite scary to think that I am driving a 'fixed' car and am experiencing the same problems as before. My car now unlocks and locks as well, which is a huge safety concern because I cannot keep safely any personal information in my vehicle or prevent it from being broken into. The intial recall repair did not fix the underlying problem. I am waiting for it to stall out.

Tl - the contact owns a 2013 Dodge Durango. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 19v813000 (electrical system) however, the part to do the recall repair was unavailable. The contact contacted the dealer (Chrysler dealer located in long island NY, specific name was unknown) where it was confirmed that the part was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The contact stated that the vehicle would they attempt to accelorate the vehicle would hesitate and seem to accelorate at an abnormal slower rate. The issue mainly occurs upon starting the vehicle. 5 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/16/2019

While driving my car is continuously shutting off. I lose power steering and need to put the vehicle in park and restart it. The first time I was coasting at 45 mph the car display controls when off and turned back on. The second time I was turning into a parking stall and the car died mid park at which point I had to manually restart. The most recent time I was driving my kids to school and the car died while going 35 I had to pull over to the shoulder (with no power steering) and restart the engine. The music and headlights remained on while the engine was off. The car starts right up without hesitation and the local Dodge delearship is not finding a code to properly detect the problem their best guess is to replace the tipm in hopes it will fix the problem. I need a safe reliable car and not one that is as risk of dying mid drive and causing an accident hurting my family or others.

7 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 04/27/2014

When accerating from a stop or even slowing down to make a turn and attempting to get up to speed, the vehicle dogs like it wants to die. Even when getting from the one ramp to the highway there is a hesitation. The rpm's go down rapidly, then I have to press the gas pedal down to get the vehicle to kick in to get it up to speed. At one point, I had to press the gas pedal down to get the acceleration I needed to avoid getting rear ended by a semi. I have had it t a dealership 4 times for this and another mechanic and was told that this is a Dodge issue with the gear ratio and that is the way it is. I even had 2 mechanics drive along and they noticed it,but did nothing. This is going to get someone killed if Dodge does not do something about it. This has been happening since I purchased the vehicle in 2014. This is an everyday occurrencei thought they could fix this issue and still nothing. I keep getting the run around from the local dealership on this.

8 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 01/13/2014

On the 2013 Dodge Durango that I currently own which I purchased brand new in June 2013, the navigation and camera system goes completely blank while driving or backing up. The vehicle started accelerating while in drive gear, as well as the transmission fails to work properly and skips second gear, the vehicle also idles high and low while in operation of drive.

9 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 08/10/2013

We purchased our vehicle on 5/31/13. Less than three months later, the first set of rear shocks were ordered for replacement. We have now owned the vehicle just over 2 years and will be having the shocks replaced for the fourth time. Nobody at the dealership has ever explained why we have such issues, and when I called this most recent time, the service dept said "maybe we aren't using the right ones". We are reaching the end of our warranty period and don't want to begin having to replace parts, that have already been replaced an average of every 6 months, at our own expense. Several months ago, we got the recall notice about the fuel pump relay, and we have yet to get the work done because there are no parts available to do the work. We've experienced countless times of "sluggish" performance when driving at 30 or less mph, which we assume is related to this recall. Of course, we've already had the brake booster shield recall work performed, but we never dreamed there would be two recalls in less than 2 years, not to mention all the problems with the shocks. With all of these problems, we feel our safety, and that of other passengers, is at risk and have become more and more concerned as we put more miles on the car.

10 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 05/13/2013

On start, the engine revved up to 4000 rpm and stayed there. It took several taps on the accelerator to get the engine to return to normal idle speed. This has happened intermittently at least a dozen times since. Random - different times of day and temperature and moisture.
