Front Air Bag Sensor Control problems of the 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan

Four problems related to front air bag sensor control have been reported for the 1998 Dodge Grand Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 09/13/2004

The air bag control module has failed without warning. As a result the air bags are inoperable. The cause has yet to be determined. Please provide additional information.

2 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 02/12/2004

While driving driver pressed the horn and there was no sound coming from the horn. Consumer noticed that horn came on and off intermittently. Consumer took vehicle to the dealer for inspection, and mechanic determined that air bag module needed to be replaced.

3 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2003

Air bag sensor light flashed intermittently. Dealer stated that clock spring failed, and air bags were inoperative. A recall 02v293000 was issued. However, this vehicle was not included in the recall due to VIN.

4 Front Air Bag Sensor Control problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2002

Air bag sensor light comes on and stays on, could result in none deployement of air bag or permature deployement of air bag. Contacted dealer. This was a result of the clock springs being defective.
