Fuel Injection problems of the 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan

Three problems related to fuel injection have been reported for the 1999 Dodge Grand Caravan. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 02/14/2001

After inspection of vehicle, consumer was informed that the fuel injection system needed to be replaced, fuel was leaking at the rubber o-rings and the fuel injection rail, as cited in recall 00v2688, consumer is upset that Chrysler says there is not a recall, but yet NHTSA states that there is.

2 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 02/05/2001

The consumer noticed a faint odor of gasoline, the vehicle was taken to the dealer where they replaced the fuel injection system because fuel was leaking at the rubber o-rings and the fuel injection rail, the consumer contacted the manufacturer who stated there was no recall but when he contacted NHTSA he was told there was a recall but it had not been implemented yet 00v-268. Nlm.

3 Fuel Injection problem

Failure Date: 10/30/1998

While parked, vehicle caught fire in the engine compartment. Inspector said there was a problem with the fuel injection system.
