The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving various speeds, the air bag warning light illuminated intermittently and whenever the contact would attempt a turn. The light remained illuminated as the failure progressed. The controls on the steering wheel failed and later, the horn also failed. After performing extensive research, the contact concluded that the clock spring failed. The dealer and manufacturer were both notified and neither offered any assistance to the contact. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 151,000 and the current mileage was 166,000.

2 Warning Light On problem

The airbag warning light stays on all the time. At the same time the speed control stopped working and the horn does not work.

3 Warning Light On problem

Own a 2001 Dodge Grand Caravan. Passenger side airbag deployed immediatley after van placed in park and ignition turned off. One month later, driver's side airbag also deployed immediately after being placed in park and ignition turned off. No previous warning lights or indicators.

After starting the vehicle air bag warning light stayed illuminated until the vehicle was shut off. Dealership was notified, but did not resolve the problem. . . . . Also, right side sliding door was hard to open manually. Dealer determined that door motor needed to be replaced.

Failure Date: 09/16/2004

After the consumer started the vehicle, the air bag warning light illuminated. The warning light stayed lit until the vehicle was shut off. The air bag light was intermittent.

6 Warning Light On problem

Failure Date: 07/29/2001

The air bag warning light came on while driving because the clock spring was defective. This resulted in air bag malfunctioning. The clock spring was replaced, but the failure recurred.
