1 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 07/17/2005

While driving on a highway the back end of the transmission mounting dropped. Causing vehicle to become inoperable. It was the first time this occurred on the vehicle. The consumer was en route to an event when the parking lot attendant thought the transmission was out because the way the car was pulling in a jerking motion. Upon inspection there was no transmission fluid at that time. Later that evening there was a large amount of fluid that turned out to be the transmission fluid. Aaa came and towed vehicle home. The vehicle has not been to a dealership but was later towed vehicle to a service repair shop. No repairs have been made as of yet. No explanation as to why this happened. Consumer contacted customer service at Chrysler, who inquired if she needed financial assistance to repair the transmission mount. After doing some research and then being on hold they could not offer any solution for this problem.

2 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 07/20/2004

While driving 55 mph consumer heard a loud noise coming from the front of the vehicle. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle, and drove it to the dealer for inspection.

3 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 05/05/2004

My Dodge caravan worked well until I received recall notice to replace power steering hoses. When that repair was complete, the throttle control sensor would not work properly. As soon as the car was returned from that repair, the fuel guage malfunctioned, and shortly thereafter the transmission broke (at 46000 miles). Either a very bad vehicle or dealership is causing damage during repair work.

4 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2004

While driving vans transmission will jump into neutral.

5 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 03/11/2004

Transmission diferential broke if broke during driving may have caused vehicle to lock up and cause accident.

6 Automatic Transmission problem

Failure Date: 08/11/2003

2002 Dodge Grand Caravan vehicle does not move when shifted into reverse. Intermittent problem. Dealer unable to duplicate problem and refused to replace transmission unless problem could be duplicated. Safety hazard: driver may inadvertently exit vehicle with gear selector in reverse position. Vehicle may suddenly move and cause injury or death. Eventually, transmission engages in reverse, taking between 15 seconds to one minute. Cycling gear selector and changing engine rpm seem to have no influence on when transmission may engage in reverse.
