Unknown Or Other problem #1

Driver side sliding door will not lock/unlock with key remote or interior control. The vehicle is equipped with the feature that locks all the doors when the vehicle reaches 20mph. The door will not lock with this feature either.

Unknown Or Other problem #2

Power door locks fail.

Unknown Or Other problem #3

Flywheel cracked at around 102,000 miles causing major jerking of the vehicle when the transmission shifted from first to second gear. I was told by my mechanic that this is a common problem with this vehicle and there has never been a recall. I did replace the flywheel which cost close to $800. 00.

Unknown Or Other problem #4

I purchased a Dodge Grand Caravan new in 2005. Yesterday I had a flat tire and tried to access the spare tire. It was impossible as it was frozen in place. I called my local dealership and they suggested I use a pry bar to free it. I believe this is a design flaw and that many people are driving around believing they have a spare tire while in reality, the spare is inaccessible. I could have been stranded or in an unsafe area.

Unknown Or Other problem #5

The power locks stopped working, I have to reset a fuse to get the locks to work again, but this issue will eventualy come back.

Unknown Or Other problem #6

The air conditioning for the vehicle has needed to be recharged or a/c heater tube for the rear unit has been changed out because of corrosion. Every year the a/c has needed to be recharged because there is no coolant in the a/c system. This has occurred every year for the past 5 years. This causes an expense of $70 to $150 every year. The front core has been replaced to the sum amount of around $750 last year.

Unknown Or Other problem #7

Headlight switch on 2005 Chrysler town and country and 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan malfunctions while driving. Extremely dangerous while driving at night. The switch on some of these vehicles seem to be installed incorrectly. There are 4 settings on the switch that when connected will turn on the lights appropriately. In some cases the switch is misaligned and the contact will either not work at all, or, make random disconnections. This is extremely dangerous when driving at night as this is a family vehicle, known to have multiple passengers. If the headlight fail at night, this could be deadly. There have been numerous forums, and blogs describing these issues with town and country, and caravan, and Grand Caravan owners. The failure occurs randomly, and the only way to fix this is to either open/repair the switch, or replace the switch. Currently I am having to flip this switch off and on back and forth until the contacts connect. If it does not work, then I have to drive while I hold the hi-beams on. This is not safe for myself nor other drivers driving toward me.

Unknown Or Other problem #8

Right side van door stopped closing and opening correctly. It gets stuck part-way. Now it doesn't close properly or lock, you have to work hard to close it.

Unknown Or Other problem #9

I have 2005 Grand Caravan with 76k miles. The passenger sliding door stops opening after about 6 inches. Many owners are having same issue. I wish there would be a recall on this. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------.

Unknown Or Other problem #10

Electric locks: after 36000 miles and no more warranty on the vehicle the power locks quit working. I found that pulling the battery would resolve the issue for a short while but it would come back again and that doing this could cause issues with how the engine ran for a while and of course the radio and clock would have to be reset. After researching the issue I found that this is known issue and that it would require a firmware upgrade on the vehicle on board computer. The manufacterer nor dealer would do this at no cost. It cost me $85. 00 to get the update. I do not feel this is right and only hope that others will file complaints to get Dodge to correct this and re-imburse their customers who have had to do this. As for me, this is my third Dodge and will no longer buy another.

Unknown Or Other problem #11

Power door will not shut completely or open when button pushed.

Unknown Or Other problem #12

The power locks on my 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan do not work consistently. Just like the many other people experiencing the same problem, I have to take the iod fuse out for 10 seconds, and put it back in to get the power locks to work. Even then, the power locks will work for maybe a few hours, and then they stop working. Very frustrating. This is also a safety concern. Dodge needs to recall these vehicles and fix this electronic/computer problem.

Unknown Or Other problem #13

The power door locks repeatedly fail - I understand this to be a common issue with this vehicle - making it difficult to get access to vehicle from the outside, especially problematic with children in the backseats who have difficulty unlocking the doors manually. Also, the passenger side power sliding door has not been operational for some time. We have also recently experienced a, as yet still undiagnosed, complete power failure in the whole electrical system - this occurred suddenly while the vehicle was traveling 65 mph with the cruise control engaged (it had been engaged for several miles). These issues range from very inconvenient to potentially hazardous.

Unknown Or Other problem #14

It started prior to 29 Nov 06 that my drivers side rear power door when you would shut the door it would pop back open and sometimes not shut at all. It has been to two garages dating 29 Nov 06,11 Dec 06,12 Jan 07, 18 Jan 07, and has another appointment for 15 Jun 07. All of the times it was seen they said they couldn't duplicate the problem or they had changed out a wiring harness. Dodgeland of columbia SC identified the proble of an incomplete door closing voltage. They have been the most helpful. Sumter Dodge of sumter SC was unable to fix or identify the problem. If you notice the dates Dodgeland was able to remedy the problem for about five months and it is now reacurring.

Unknown Or Other problem #15

Dash cover has fogged up some after having vehicle several months. Dealership said something was sprayed on plastic and got behind it and is not a factory defect. Will not be covered under warranty.

Unknown Or Other problem #16

The contact owns a 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that whenever it would rain, a puddle of water would appear on the passenger side floor. The dealer was unable to determine the cause of failure. The failure mileage was 25,000 and current mileage was 36,000.

Unknown Or Other problem #17

Headlights turn off while driving.

Unknown Or Other problem #18

Vehicle (2005 Dodge Grand Caravan) was hit from behind and ran into trees, deploying airbags. Glove box door dropped open and all the way down (past the normal open state), severely injuring the left leg of front passenger.
