6 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 01/12/2015

I currently am buying a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan is part of the recall for faulty ignition module. This has cause the vehicle to sparatically not start, even after a complete day of driving. This issue started shortly after I purchased the van almost 2 yeas ago. I was told my key needed reprogrammed, payed to have it done and this has obviously not fixed the issue , as it continues to progressively worsen. The vehicle is now shutting off while driving and will not restart. I have spoke with the dealership and called Chrysler and they both say that I have to pay to have it even diagnosed becaise they do not think that the recall is the issue. I was also told that even if it is the recalled part there is no fix avaliable for the 2009 as of yet. I fear the vehicle will not be functional much longer as the problem seems to occur on now a daily basis. The dealer insists it is something else any other time I have had the problem and just tries to just sell me another part that will not fix it. So what are other options other than paying for a car that is non functional or giving the car back loosing anything I have paid on it and being without a vehicle?.

8 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 08/07/2013

Car shut off ignition switch went from run to accessory. Multiple occurrences ranging for 30 feet to about 1/2 mile out of driveway. Occurrences were always after first starting up. I had a heavy key chain with a leatherman micro attached. I removed the leatherman, and disconnected the battery and sprayed silicone in ignition switch and cycled multiple times. I have not had an occurrence since. I did notice that the 2010 was recalled for the same exact problem I was experiencing. Reference recall is pasted below. This is also the exact same problem as the recent gm recall. Recall date: Mar 01, 2011 model affected: 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan summary: Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2010 Dodge journey, Grand Caravan, and Chrysler town & country vehicles manufacturer from August 3, 2009, through June 17, 2010. 9 Ignition Module problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2013

The vehicle shutoff in the middle of an intersection after putting the vehicle in motion after a red light turned green. The vehicle has a hard time starting recently and we believe it's due to the ignition recall. We contacted our dealer and they said a bad key problem is separate from the win module detent ring problem. They investigated the problem and said a bad win module is the cause for not starting. My belief is that the loose detent ring caused a failure of the key due to a bad connection for years. I'm also afraid we could be seriously injured before the recall as this is our only vehicle. We called Dodge and they said nothing could be done safety wise for us until the recalled part is manufactured. I asked them if they could provide us a rental vehicle until then they said no. So I said you know there's something dangerous and yet there's nothing you can do and we are totally on our own if we get injured, to which they replied "yes". We want to file a complaint against Dodge/Chrysler for not looking out for our safety. Thanks, omar tannehill.
