1 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2019

Sliding doors have had numerous issues that cause the doors to lock up and fail. I have had 3 issues in under 5 years with both sliding doors locking up and failing requiring electrical work to be done to correct the problem. My vehicle has just about 50k miles and has had 3 failures with the door latches not opening. This issue needs to be looked at as a severe issue in cases of safety because both my doors do not open and this vehicle is gently used for a 10 year old vehicle. Another issue with the sliding door is the harnesses that are installed from the factory. They fail and the wiring breaks over 1 to 2 years. This is an issue that happens way to often.

2 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 03/01/2018

This vehicle has had several electrical component failures that were premature and unexplained. Computer module replaced twice, sensors replaced before they should have gone bad. We also were experiencing small electrical issues all over the vehicle, problems with windows, slide doors, accessories, radio etc. After inspection of the electrical system a problem was observed with two of the main wiring harnesses for engine components, one was routed over the top of the radiator hose where it attaches to the top of the motor allowing excessive heat to melt the wire protection sleeves and wire coating which caused contact of wires exposed. Another section of wiring routed down from the main fuse box and rested on top of the transmission cover resulting in overheating of the wires. These two issues caused excessive heating of the wiring to effect the current flow to and from the main wire port for all electrical components of the vehicle and resulted in system malfunctions everywhere. This is a poor design by the manufacturer and a serious safety concern. I would want anyone with the same vehicle to know this is probably the result of numerous electrical component failures or problems they are experiencing that may lead to excessive repairs that are not necessary if the wiring is routed in a better way to avoid overheating.

3 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 06/30/2017

Passenger side rear door electrical harness appears to have shorted and melted the interior. Similar to 10v235000 recall. This VIN is not covered by that recall but is from the same year. Possible catastrophic fire could result if plastic reached specific temperature to alight. Burning plastic smell was noted during 4 hour drive. Headache and mild nausea resulted from the smell. Smell reminded owner of burned wiring in the lab.

4 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2017

The black casing around the wiring in the sliding doors broke off leaving exposed wiring.

5 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Dodge Grand Caravan. The contact stated that while driving approximately 60 mph most of the warning indicators including the radio lights started flashing. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and the diagnosis was the wiring harness was faulty and needed replacement. The vehicle was driven to the dealer for a second opinion the diagnosis was that the total integrated power module and an independent driver side module needed replacement. The vehicle is currently been repair. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 82,466. Bp.

6 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2014

The harness on both driver and passenger side started coming apart and the wiring pop and now it's causing no lighting in the car windshield wipers keep going, can't let down windows, no ac, no radio.

7 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 07/01/2014

The ac drain leaks water under the dash when the ac is on and may affect the air bag wiring or other electrical functions. This problem was identified in 2011, bulletin k31, but my VIN was not included. I have the same make, model, year and problem as the recalled cars. Why is my car not included in this recall?? I have struggled with this recurring issue since 2014!!!.

8 Wiring problem

Failure Date: 07/23/2013

Am having the exact same issue as the k14 recall. But am being told that is only for power doors. Last year I changed a new the sliding door wiring harness but still am having the same issue,by opening and closing the door it broked the censor clip and then broked the plastic cover on top of wire know the wire is being damaged my front windows are not working the air bag censor not working. And that exactly because of the hinge which is breaking the platic cover while ur sliding the doors.
