In my 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan, while turning the key to the on position to start the car the key gets stuck in the starting/on position making the car not turn over but make noise as if im trying to start the car, while its already started & it's not. I physically have to turn the key back to the off position because it won't snap back by itself. & keep trying again until it will finally start. Also while driving the car, it will shut off with no warning causing loss of power steering, leaving me to force the car to a safe zone to put the car in park and try to turn the car on. While googleing this problem I see theres a problem with the wind modular/detent ring/igniton switch being recalled in 2008-2010 models. I took it to Dodge dealership service department explained the problem and they ran a diagnosis, and they cleaned out the ignition switch and updated the system, and told me to remove my car key from my key chain and then told me nothing was wrong with the car. Everyday since then the problem seems to be getting worst. And naturally I'm outside of my 36,000 limited warranty by 2 months by date and 10 miles over. (p. S) this seems to be the same problem that I seen in the news that gm originally knew about this problem since 2001 and my car is a 2011 and here it is 2014 with over 31 crashes and 13 deaths over faulty ignition switches and gm still continues to put not only my family lives at risk but many others.

This started in July of 2014. We noticed that at first the wipers would stop randomly and after shutting them off they would not go to their home place. This appeared very random and did not alarm us. But what did was the the vehicle would randomly not start. It would crank but not turn over. We would turn the key back off then try and start again and it would be fine. However for the last 2 weeks this has increasingly worsened. The vehicle will take up to 15 minutes to start. It will sometimes start and die, then not start for several minutes. After having a local shop check this issue out they have determined that the totally integrated power module is faulty and will need to be replaced to resolve this issue. At a cost of $505 for the part and several more hundred dollars for the labor this has been an extremely costly fix.

Smoke coming from driver side rear brake. Pulled over and inspected. Coming from brake. Removed tire and saw that the emergency brake was a activated due to a spring had broke. I have p spring was rusted. We have had similar heating problrms in the past with both rear wheels. I have pictures of spring at the time of inspection on the side of the highway with all my children in the vehicle. This has been a reacurring problem with wheels over heating. We even took it to the dealership in the past and they said all looks normal?.

My van shut off in the middle of traffic on north roxboro road on the way to northern high school. I was protected until aaa came and towed my car to the dealer. I rented a car and I paid for the 1st week of the rental and the other week was cared for by the dealer. It is unknown what was wrong with the vehicle at this point in time. Once this happened, a few months later the car began to cut off at the gas station the day before my family was about to travel out of town. Once it cut off we had to drive another car that was not working well to our destination. Aaa jump started my van in order for me to get back to the dealership. The advised me that I needed a new battery, however the dealership I was told that if the battery was low and I received a jump start I should drive the car. I tried and turned around once again to the dealership. I waited 30 minutes before someone was able to push my van into the lot. My car was held most of the day and at the end of the day they told me I needed a battery. I called my husband to discuss the matter, he wanted to discuss the information with them and they were asking for a large amount of money to fix not only the battery, but the alternator as well. The alternator was not the problem I was told originally. I had only brought the car to their location. They wanted almost a $1000. 00 to fix my van. I had aaa tow my van away, aaa brought me a new battery and they tested and found that the alternator was the main source of my problems. The last time my van shut off it had all of the lights on. The voltage light, the abs brake lights, the oil lights, the air bag lights and the battery light. It has been in and out of commission. I had at least 3 incidences that involved my children and feel that our lives were at stake. I need to have a resolution in this matter without being required to buy a new plan. I feel cheated.

While opening the back door of the minivan, I noticed a hissing sound coming from the side of the vehicle. My wife and son both noticed it a few minutes prior to me opening the door. About 15 seconds after I had opened it, I heard a loud bang and the entire gas strut exploded at the base and sent broken pieces flying about 15 ft into the driveway. I was holding the door at the time and the full weight obviously was then upon me. Upon researching this a bit I noticed that several major car manufacturers had issued recalls but apparently Dodge has not yet. Well I'm reporting that our 2011 Dodge Grand Caravan has the same issue and has the stabilus gas struts. I honestly hope no one gets injured and thankful that we were lucky in this instance. Had it been my wife not holding the door and my son standing right there, things could have gone down quite differently.

Well from the time I purchased the car I told the dealer about the ignition. The car speeding off while I'm driving in a regular street or highway. The warning lights doesn't warn . Enough is enough. Riding in the car in street yesterday once again the steering wheel locked in me in traffic and it shut down. No warning. So dangerous. There is no way there should be so many complaints about the same issues and they not have a recall and repairs . My alternator actually fried and we could have been killed along with my children!!!! I'm scared. Im paying $500. 00 dollars a month for a vehicle that is sitting and I can't drive. Please give hello me to get justice.

The sliding doors do not have an automatic stop; when the kids get in and out and the door close button is pushed, the door keeps going; even with children in/out the door, items laying between the door. . . I even had my hand in the door for testing and the door will not stop; it will keep moving forward to close. What a safety issue especially for a Mini van that is designed for kids in and out.

The 2011 Dodge caravan has a defective rear view camera screen - the screen cannot be seen - when there bright sun. . . . Which causes a problem when trying to back up. . .
