Both sliding doors are locked and can't be opened manually or automatically our kids and passengers can't exit safely in the event of an accident or fire. The issue has been confirmed and warranty extented-dealer charged $155 and told us that the door being locked and not being able to open is not the issue but the latch is defective. (we don't believe this to be true) this issue has been confirmed by manufacturer and we recieved a letter directing us to take the car in for repairs for these issues. The power lock actuator made a clicking/buzzing sound as described in the letter from fca us llc before going bad. We are trying our best to resolve this issue because we have three kids that are daily passengers.

The passenger rear sliding door is stuck in the closed position. Attempts to unlock or open the door both manually and by key fob were unsuccessful. Door will not open nor will it unlock. First noticed while vehicle was running but stationary.

Rear lift won't open sometimes and not manually either. Passenger sliding door makes a buzzing sound when unlocked.

The drivers side sliding door gets stuck in the locked position and wont unlock so the door will not open electronically or manually.

My 2016 Dodge Grand Caravan sport van, which has slightly over 50,000 the back driver's side passenger door just stopped working. It worked in the morning. After driving to the destination. But then in the afternoon, it refused to open when I was headed home. I have used the fob, manually from the outside and inside as well as the overhead button in the van. It makes no sound as if it is trying to open. This is a huge safety hazard should anyone ever get stuck in the van. Dealership is refusing to fix unless I pay out of pocket, despite others having the same complaint. At the very least a recall needs to be done.

Passenger sliding door makes a loud buzzing noise and will not unlock. Cannot manually unlock the car and unable to manually or automatically open. Unsafe condition. Please ask them to fix.

Slider doors will not open manually. Doors no longer auto lock while driving has commenced. Rear hatch will not open with fob occasionally.

The sliding doors are locked, will not open, stuck closed, will not manually or power open. This is a safety issues as my children cannot enter or exit the van. There is no way to for passengers to open their door. Will not open from interior or exterior.

The drivers side sliding door stopped working. It won't unlock or open with the key fob or with the button inside or manually. It was working fine and 30 minutes later it won't do anything. My rear sliding door on the passengers side will not unlock manually, with the key fob, or with any of the control panels from the inside effectively locking and trapping anyone inside who does not have access from another door. No matter what I do the door will not unlock. . Read more...

My driver side sliding door just stopped working. It's locked. I can't manually unlock it. It's stuck. It worked this morning. The vehicle had been parked for 9 hours, since that door was last used.

2016 Grand Caravan. Driver's sliding door just froze-- wil not open electronically or manually. The lock is stuck in the locked position and the power door lock switch won't move door's lock to the 'unlock' position. When you try to move the lock/unlock button/lever on that sliding door, it's stuck in the locked position--even exerting force the lever cannot be moved to the unlocked position-- to much force feels like I'm going to break the lever. The door is in the locked position and is not able to be opened. This is the 2nd time this has happened on this same door.

Drivers side manual sliding door remains locked. Can not unlock manually or electrically. Safety issue, egress not easily possible.

Sliding door locks jammed and not working. . . Stuck. Can't open the door manually either. This is dangerous because can't get kids out from the back especially during emergency situation. Dodge should recall all sliding door actuator or whatever is causing this stuck lock on sliding doors to open.

Drivers side door is locked and will not unlock manually or with buttons. The manual lock on door is stuck and will not move. Passenger side door will not lock manually or with button. It is always unlocked. Alarm does not go off when this door is opened. Passenger door lock does not unlock with any button 80% of the time.

The driver side, sliding door lock, is making a buzzing sound when it is locked manually or when it automatically locks when driving. I'm not sure if the door is actually locking or if the lock is fully engaged.

Left rear door lock is inoperative. Door will not unlock with remote (power lock) or manually. About a month ago, the power lock started failing intermittently. As of 5/6/2020, the lock is frozen in the locked position. This appears to be a common issue with this vehicle from model years 2010 forward, linked to a failed door lock actuator. This is a safety hazard in that rear passengers will have great difficulty exiting the vehicle in case of an emergency.

Drivers side door will not open. Manually or by remote. It is stuck in lock mode. Serious safety issue! I have an infant in a carseat and 3 other children that this impacts! if we were in an accident someone could die!!.

The sliding door locks are making a loud buzzing sound and not locking properly when I use my remote to lock the van. I have to manually unlock and lock the door.

Automatic second row passenger doors and or locks are sealed shut. The doors cannot be opened or closed and are sealed completely and totally shut. There is no manual over ride system to manually open and close the doors or to manually unlock the doors to open them. These are the doors that children use to get in and out of the vehicle as these are the seats that children, toddlers, and babies ride in. These doors are completely and totally sealed shut and cannot be opened manually. They may or may not be locked and cannot be unlocked manually either. The auto mechanic cannot get inside of these door panels to find out what is wrong even after stowing the seats as there is also no way to get the door panels off from the inside of the car while the doors are sealed shut. You have to open the doors to get the door panels off to look inside of the doors to see what is wrong. But, you cannot do this because the doors are sealed shut. Faulty and defective design and engineering! serious safety issue for children! mechanic cannot get any information from Dodge about how to fix problem. Doors have been sealed shut for 6 months. Cannot get in or out of either door in second row. No manual override of any kind to use doors as manual doors. Automatic door design and automatic lock design are defective and present a serious safety issue. Dodge not telling dealers or mechanics how to fix this either. It is a mystery and Dodge is not sharing information to get it fixed.

Right passenger sliding door is stuck in locked position. Unable to open or unlock the door, and there is no manual override. This creates a safety issue due to inability to get my young child out. This problem occurred out of nowhere, one day it worked and the next it wasn�t. The vehicle was stationary. The van only has 36 thousand miles on it.

First incident was in August 2017. I had service done because the driver's side sliding door stopped working and did not open. Second incident - this August 2019 the same door stopped working and does not open. Third incident - now my passenger side sliding door does not open either. Both sliding doors currently do not open. They are locked with no manual way to unlock or open. These doors are faulty and a serious safety concern. I have to small children that in the event of an emergency, are not able to escape. Dodge service centers aren't able to provide courtesy vehicles during the repair, which according to my experience, would take approximately 3-4 days to repair the faulty sliding door. There are several complaints regarding these sliding doors. If the same issue keeps happening with these doors, then the problem is not with the users. The issue is in the mechanism of these sliding doors.

The liftgate will not open. Somedays it will open by push button or by the fob, but when it stops working it will be weeks before it starts to work again. The liftgate wont open manually which can be a safety hazard if there was a. Emergency. The car is parked when this happens.

Drivers side sliding door locked and will not unlock manually or with the electronic mechanism. This causes the door to not be able to open. Thank god there was not an emergency that required quick access to my 17 month old daughter as I had to crawl through the other door to get her out. The door opened perfectly fine to put her in the car. After researching this I'm seeing hundreds of others who have experienced the exact same issue and there are still no recalls. This could be a deadly issue. Will someone have to die for this to be taken care of???.

Drivers side sliding door does not unlock. Causing vehicle door not to open on command. Was told it has faulty actuator. To manually unlock it is extremely difficult for small children. Could become hazard in an emergency.

Both the driver side and passenger side rear power sliding doors will not open manually or via the power buttons on the key. The driver side rear door did stopped opening at 38k miles and the passenger side rear door stopped working at 46k. This is a safety issue as we have children in carseats, and we cannot open the doors to remove them.

Ret'd from a week long trip into my driveway, ready to unload clothes, etc. Driver side sliding door would not activate, nor could I open it manually. Tried, tried, tried - both manually and with key fob & with button above dash, to no avail. In early am left military facility lodging in indiana - no prob. Took to local hertrich dealer pocomoke city, MD. Indicated �actuator� at a cost of over $700. Decided to check recall possibility as a true safety problem if my great grand children were inside. Started copying all the 2019 complaints only to find out that out of 222 complaints the large majority are related to this problem. Surely Dodge should put out a recall. Sudden, unexpected, had bought 2016 Dodge as used car w/remaining warranty. Had to fix passenger side door while still under warranty because of a growling sound in mid 2017. Hertrich Dodge can provide those details. Yes, I want this covered, after seeing all the complaints just in 2019. Will inform my Dodge dealer re this complaint & await a recall surely! car has over 79k miles. At 81, don't need someone killed or injured on my watch because they cannot exit in an emergency! 7/2/19 - am lvg lodging fine; home in driveway it occurred.

Passenger side sliding door lock is stuck in the locked position. It will not unlock with the key fob or by manually unlocking. It has worked fine for the 2 and 1/2 years we have had the vehicle and then it suddenly stopped working.
