When the car is in park, ignition on or off, the driver's side sliding door is locked and closed and will not open using the keyfob, the door button on the ceiling console, the door button on the door wall, the inside or outside door handles. The lock will not manually lock or unlock. You cannot exit the van on that side.
Stationary in driveway, drivers side rear door unable to open manually or electronically. Brought to dealership where purchased and left it to the tune of $296 labor for diagnosing. Not fixed that would be another $600 for parts plus labor. Needs to be recalled, dangerous if in a accident.
Drivers side sliding door won't open or unlock, manually or with fob or ceiling button.
The passenger sliding door is stuck in the locked position and will not open. The lock electronic lock switch will not disengage, the automatic door mechanism will not work, and the door will not function in manual mode. As a van with passengers in the back, this is posing a safety hazard with people having to exit the van on the side facing traffic. If the drivers side sliding door fails in a similar fashion, a greater safety would result if people cant egress the vehicle. The local Dodge dealer indicates this is a common issue and that there is no recall for this issue.
My passenger side sliding door stopped working. I tried opening it manually and with the key off and dome switch, but not doing anything. Even with vehicle in start and also parked.
Driver side sliding door is stuck in the lock position. It wont unlock with the remote, button inside or manually. Keeps showing error messafe if you try to open it that the door needs to be unkocked but will not unlock. Very unsafe since minivans are for family's and bow in the case of emergency I cant open that door. Especially since the vehical has less than 60k miles on it.
Left sliding door will not open from inside or outside the vehicle. Passengers on that side would be trapped in the vehicle in an emergency. It will not open with key fob or manually, from inside or outside.
Rear driver side sliding door has completely stopped operating. Will not open either manually or electrically. It is as if it is permanently locked. Passengers on that side cannot exit the vehicle that side, making it a serious safety hazard.
Both sliding doors will not open - jammed in locked position. Cannot manually or electronic open. This is very dangerous as I cannot get my grandkids out of the van in an emergency. Also unable to use the van if there are more than 2 adults. There was no incident that caused this. Worked one day. . . Next day didn't work. Happened within a couple weeks of each other (the doors).
Drivers side sliding door locked and cannot be unlocked with power controls or manually. Googled and found many people have the same problem.
While in my driveway (vehicle was stationary), I attempted to open the driver side sliding door. The door was not working manually or electronically. Dashboard screen said unlock door to operate, but the door is stuck in lock.
Approximately 1 week ago my rear driver sliding door became stuck. Upon searching online for a fix I found what appeared to be hundreds, if not thousands of people with the same problem. I attempted every thing we could think of. Trying to open or unlock the door via manually, via key fob, and via interior buttons. Nothing will open this door. It is stuck and cannot become opened or unlocked. My daughter has a disability and sits on this side. This is a serious safety issue that Dodge needs to address. Does my daughter have to die by being trapped in the van before Dodge does something? this isn't a new problem and is affect multiple Dodge vehicles.
Passenger side rear power sliding door is locked shut. It will not unlock manually or via key or interior unlocking button. There is no way to open this door. This is a safety concern; if anything were to happen to require this door to be used as an emergency exit, there would be no way to get the passengers out of the vehicle.
The driver side sliding door faults to locked position. Cannot manually override lock with the any action. The leaves passengers in the rear trapped in an emergency situation. This is the case if the vehicle is stationary, in motion, in the city, on a highway, turning, and any other situation. It is always locked. The car has 50,000 miles.
My 2016 Dodge caravan was parked in my driveway overnight. In the morning, the driver side sliding door wouldn't unlock neither manually or with the key fob.
The driver's side rear sliding passenger door is permanently locked shut. Either fault actuator or locking mechanism. Will not open manually nor with key fob. Presents danger entering and exiting the vehicle with kids in case of emergency. Many consumers with similar issues per google search of same problem. Appears to happen frequently when vehicles are just past manufacturer warranty. Car was stationary in a parking lot and couldn't open to get child out. Had to climb in through the back. I will be forced to have dealership fix/replace as car is too new for secondary market part replacement or mechanics, at a cost of over $1100.
