1 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 07/23/2017

After starting my van, I will turn on my headlights and they will flicker on and then off really quick. This happens randomly. I will wait a few minutes and try again and the same thing will happen. I can flip the high beams on and they will flicker on and then right off. However, the fog lights will come on. I can usually sit and wait about 10 to 15 minutes and the lights will usually come on.

2 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 03/21/2017

I was driving through a dark country road and my headlights went completely off. I reached for the control, turned it off then on, the lights blinked then went off. I was able to get the fog lights on. The next day they nect day they worked. A few weeks later, the ligts went out again while driving down an interstate higway @70mph. It has recovered multiple times.

3 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 08/13/2015

I purchased this vehicle in April 2015. On 08/13/2015, I was driving late at night on interstate 5. Both headlights unexpected flashed on and off, then stopped working completely. I pulled to the side of the freeway and attempted to get the headlights working by jiggling the light switch, but nothing worked. The side marker lights and fog lights did work, so I used those so I could get off the freeway until daylight. Since that date, it has happened three more times. One time, it occurred when I simply hit the remote door unlock. The headlights started flashing, then went off. I was unable to get the headlights to turn back on by manipulating the light switch and had the use the parking lights and fog lights. It does not appear to be caused by a faulty switch. This is an extreme safety hazard. I have read numerous reports online that this is not a rare occurrence.

4 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2010 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 07/08/2015

Headlights (both, high and low beams) do not work sometimes. Some times for several days. They will go off while driving and most time they will not come on at all. Also, the headlights do not work when pressing the open door option on the key fob. All they do is blink on and then turn off. . . That's it. Park lights and fog lights do work. The fog lights have save me on a couple occasions when the lights turn off while driving at night. Took it to the dealer and was told there were no codes turned on in the computer.

5 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 07/05/2014

The headlights started going off while driving. First the fog lights started flashing on and off on their own and when I would pull on the headlight switch out to engage the fog lights, the headlights would turn off. I saw on line that many other people are having this problem with their Grand Caravans.

6 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 10/27/2011

Sometime when I was driving, my headlights turned off mysteriously. Now I cannot get my lowbeams to turn on. High beams, parking lights, fog lights all work. May be an issue with the switch. I believe there is currently an open investigation regarding this issue.

7 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 08/06/2011

Throughout the life of the vehicle the fog lights have randomly cycled on and off while driving with the headlights on. However last summer the main headlights started randomly shutting off while driving at night in addition to the fog lights cycling on and off despite the switch for the foglights being off. This is extremely unsafe. Usually toggling the switch on and off can get the headlights to turn back on. Recently I was unable to get them to come back on for approximately 1/2 mile. I was in a well lit area at the time, but this is still a safety issue. Sometimes after I turn off the headlights and shut off the vehicle they cycle on and off several times, but I have been lucky they have no stayed on and drained my battery. I searched for the issue online to see if there was a resolution and found numerous complaints on various sites for this same issue in the 2005 Grand Caravan as well as the issue I have with the power door locks that is resolved by removing the iod fuse and putting it back in. There seems to be a significant electrical problem in this vehicle that has gone unaddressed.

8 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2006 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 10/31/2010

Approximately 10 times over the last 3 yrs. The headlights on my van have malfunctioned. About 6 of those 10 times the problem was that I couldn't get the light to turn on. The other times, I couldn't get them to turn off. When the lights were not working the only way to see was to manually hold the lever to turn the brights on and drive with one hand on the wheel and the other on the lever. As far as the lights not turning off, I had to manipulate the switch by turning it off and on and pulling it out to the fog light position as well as bang on the dash to get the lights to turn off.

9 Fog Light Switch problem of the 2005 Dodge Grand Caravan

Failure Date: 07/28/2010

The headlight switch does not always turn on the headlamps. We have to switch it back and forth several times, and sometimes it only turns on parking lights, sometimes only fog lights, and eventually headlamps will turn on. It is not consistent of when and where the switch will work and how many times it takes to switch it back and forth to turn on. Since this issue started happening - we have experienced the headlamps actually turning off during driving in the dark. Luckily they have come back on if I mess with the switch - but this is dangerous and it is not consistent when it happens either. I have also had the fog lights flicker on and off while driving even though I do not have the switch pulled out for them to come on at all.
