Four problems related to brake disc have been reported for the 1998 Dodge Intrepid. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
At about 20,000 miles I noticed a pulsing or shimmy when pressing the brakes. It appears that the front rotors have already warped, under normal use. My tires show no sign of unnecessary wear and have been rotated regularly. The dealer and Dodge are aware of the problem and say that this is normal and will not cover it under the warranty. If it is normal for rotars to wear every 20,000 miles than this will be the last Dodge or Chrysler product I will buy!.
Rotors and calipers replaced 4 times since purchase, there was a grinding noise when applying brakes.
I had my brakes looked at when I kept feeling severe pulsating in the steering wheel and pedal, they had to replace my rotors due to being warped but my brakes now still do not work right after being replaced 4 times they still vibrate severly and there are thousands of Dodge Intrepid owners who are experiencing the same problems. Thank you.
Vehicle is experiencing problems with the front disc brakes, they have warped twice and been turned twice, consumer feels the design is defective due to needing replacement approximately every 36000 miles.
