Brake Master Cylinder Problems of Dodge Intrepid

My 2000 Intrepid s engine blew up 2 years ago and again 2days ago there was no warning. Master cylinder is failing and the steering pin broke in the car and left me helpless I ended up in a ditch. I called Dodge and they said they couldn't help because it was out of warranty past 7 years and its only been 2.

The contact owns a 2004 Dodge Intrepid. The contact stated that while driving 55 mph, the front brakes seized. The vehicle was maneuvered to the shoulder and allowed to cool. The brakes released and functioned as normal after cooling. The failure recurred on an intermittent basis. The contact replaced the master cylinder, both front rotors, both front brake hoses, and both front calipers. The contact also allowed the brake lines to bleed through, but the failure continued. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 127,000. The VIN was not available. Updated 04/10/lj the consumer stated the power booster failed and damaged other components of the braking system, such as the rotors, calipers and brake hoses. : the contact stated drove vehicle 6 miles from home to a business appointment. After the appointment started the vehicle and the brake pedal went to the floor. Had very little braking power. Next day brake pedal was up. There is a NHTSA recall # 00v180000 regarding the master cylinder. This vehicle was not included in the recall due to the VIN. The manufacturer was contacted and explained there was no recalls for this vehicle. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic who bled the brakes.

While driving vehicle experienced the very same symptoms as stated in recall campaign 00v180000 concerning brakes master cylinder.
