I own a 1999 Dodge Intrepid and need two windows fixed regulators in the door. The garage I brought my car to said he has replaced a lot of these regulators in the 1999 Dodge Intrepid. I feel that if it needs to be fixed for inspection then there must be some safety reason. Every time I am on the turnpike I have to open my door to hand out the money. I feel that there should be a recall on this problem.

Heard a grinding noise when I used the driver side power window, eventually the window was tilted as it was going up and down. Seems to be off the track. Window if not guided by hand does not stay within seals along side and at top. Also the passenger window on driver side is no longer operating.
Every owner of a newer model Dodge Intrepid that I have spoken to has problems with the power window on the drivers side. Several of these Intrepid owers had to pay several hundreds of dollars to have this problem fixed and I think it is a manufaturer's defect and this should be considered for a recall.

I had work completed before the warranty expired (spring 2003). Replaced both front driver and passenger window regulators and all four door seals. July 2003, the driver window wouldnt go down, and rear passenger door lock wont unlock. All four door seals will not stay in place. Quote from grand forks, nd Dodge dealer: $234 for window regulator, $175 for door actuator and $186 for door strip clips.
When the buttons were pressed on any of the consoles for the power windows, the rear windows did not respond. Both rear power window units were replaced, and the front power window units will be replaced at a later date. The cause of the problem undetermined.

Driver's side window motor failed and as a result the window would not roll down.
3 of 4 power window units have failed making the windows inoperable. Front passenger window motor and regulator were replaced under warranty. At this time the driver and rear passenger windows are inoperative. The vehicle currently has 43. 3k miles. Besides being inconvenient, not being able to open a window could pose a safety issue in an emergency.
Unable to pull driver side power window. It will not go back, and passenger's side window will not go down.
Driver's side front window and passenger's side rear window will not go up or down. Consumer feels it's unsafe if in emergency, can't get out of vehicle. Dealer has been contacted. Please provide any further information.
The electric windows on the vehicle do not work. The problem started with the windows not working occasionally, this progressed to not working at all. The vehicle also gives a violent shock when exiting with ignition off.
The power windows jammed up, which caused them not to roll up or down. The power windows rolled up all the way, but failed to roll down on the two front windows and the right rear door window. Problems with windows since the purchase of the vehicle. The dealer claimed they fixed the problem but that lasted one day and also suggested there was a problem with this make/model and there was no remedy. Other dealers have said the same thing. The only way the window worked is if the consumer hit the door with his fist between the panel, speaker, and the door pocket while holding the window switch in the down position.
Continued problems and expense related to window engine failures in front and back.
Left front window motor failed. Yh.
Driver side power window malfunction.
3 window motors replaced; dealer stated they had replaced several motors; 2 other customers in same day for same problem. Dealer quickly and professionally took care of problem. Excellent car otherwise.
3 of the 4 power windows have required service.
Driver's power window did not go into the closed position correctly. Took to dealer and found that the plastic clip on the bottom of the window that goes into the regulator track was broken. Dealer said this was a common problem but not covered under my warranty. Can not be fixed unless the whole window is replaced. Seems that something that is used as much as the driver's window should not be made with a plastic component!! also it should be repaired by replacing the component not the whole window. Bad engineering I would conclude.
The power windows will come down or up. Mechanic states this could be due to a rubber seal being bad.
Power window was rolled up, and the child got wedged in between the seal and the window. Window would not roll back down to release the child. Dealer has not been contacted.
