As I sat in my car to drive, the driver's seat leaned back unexpectedly. It can not be raised. I have a bucket and box behind the seat to hold it in place, but it is still not in an upright position. This is a safety issue.

I was grocery shopping and when I got in the car to go home there was a clunk noise and I was reclining in the drivers seat. I could not upright the seat so it would stay in place. I put the seat belt on and held down the console and made it home scared but safe. I looked under the seat and found a bolt broken off. I did receive a recall notice for the bolts some time ago and took the car to the local Dodge dealer. I assumed the problem was fixed although I had not had a problem until today. Can I go back to Dodge to have it fixed? obviously it wad either not replaced or I got a faulty bolt. Please help.
My 2000 Dodge Intrepid has a defective drivers seat. Fortunately, in 2003 I stopped my car to let a passenger exit and my driver's seat fell completely backwards. In 2006 I learned that my car dealer fixed the seat again. In 2010, I was stopped at my mailbox and my seat fell completely backwards again. The dealer & Dodge company refused to pay for a seat replacement. Why not?.
The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Intrepid. The contact backed her vehicle out of a parking space at 2 mph, placed it into drive, and barely depressed the accelerator pedal when the driver's seat collapsed. Frantically, she shifted into park and stopped the vehicle. The dealer stated that a plastic piece on one of the seat arms was stripped, which caused the failure. The repair cost would total approximately $955. The contact experienced a minor strain in her shoulder due to the sudden seat collapse. The current mileage was 110,968 and failure mileage was approximately 110,500. Updated 07/15/08 the seat adjuster assembly was broken. Updated 07/15/08.
: the contact stated that upon entering the highway at the stop sign, the driver seat fell backward without any warning. The dealer was contacted and determined that the bolt parts needed to be ordered to fix and replace the bolt. The manufacturer was contacted and determined that the vehicle needed to be taken to the dealer for a diagnostic test and suggested that an extended warranty should be purchased.
While driving, the front seat all of a sudden broke.
Dishman Dodge; 7700 east sprague avenue; spokane, wa 99212 failed to perform dot manufacturer drivers seat recall service 19-Feb-2003 (reference invoice no. Docs66853) stating no knowledge of recall announcement.
I was traveling home from work at 60 mph, when the back of my seat collapsed and I lost control of the vehicle momentarilly. Upon examining the seat at home I found the bolt which holds the seat upright had sheared off. The bolt appears to be a composite material and not a strong metal. No way this should have failed. I see two more reported cases, which leads me to believe there are hundreds more out there, but are being repaired under warranty and not being reported.
