Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey the vehicle did not start when cranked the vehicle was not diagnosed by a dealer the consequence was unable to start the vehicle sporadically the contact stated that the vehicle did not start when the key was inserted in the ignition, the contact had replaced the key fob and the starter. The vehicle was not taken to the dealer for a diagnostic. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 153,000. Bp.
My car is constantly unable to start im being told due to electrical issues. Ive replaced the starter, battery, & alternator. There are all kinds of forums telling you ways around getting the car to start but no real fixes. Some people spending hundreds and thousands trying to fix this issue by replacing fuse boxes, adding cables, replacing the entire computer system and more to no avail. While others just park the car until its paid off or sell it. Its not fair and its inconvenient. Dodge Journeys 2009+ are all experiencing these issues.
First the light turn on of the air bag (movement). In other night when I turn on the alarm it's start to activate on panic mode then I turn off the alarm wait for a various minutes and activate again (off), but in less than a minute start to be in panic mode. In other day (movement), says that was an open door and the locks start to put it many times, any of the doors wasn't open (movement). In the same day at night it's start to turn on/turn off the inside lights, put the locks, and the message of a door it's was open (movement). The alarm was on panic mode twice and the light's was againg turn on/turn off (off). The batterie, every time that I try to turn on the vehicule I need a booster to charge it again. The mechanics says that the alternator and the batterie are in good conditions has the voltage that needs to be operating. I put a new batterie but the problem persist. And turn on the light of other thing on the panel.
On several occasions my Dodge Journey has shut off while driving and while sitting at a traffic light. Some instances occurred while turning at a traffic light or driving straight ahead on a local city road. The check engine light, traction equalizer warning and air bag lights all come on just prior to the car shutting off most times. Other times there is no warning until my steering wheel and brakes lock up indicated that the car has shut off. I've had the car serviced for the engine amongst other repairs and the problem still persists and the codes clear only temporarily. The car lights dim or flicker and the car shakes sometimes when starting up indicating that the car will not hold power to drive. The battery is good and the mechanic has stated that the issue is electrical.
When using right turn signal dome lights turn on, if cruise contrail is on cannot use brights will shut off cruise by itself, car stalls, and will not always start, when it does start many times will stall right away, and when driving stalls. Air bag light on which have read can mean airbag fail to deploy.
Battery goes dead all the time, check enjine light, traction light, loses power going up small hills, won't shift, air bag light stays on, testing says it has a battery drain, cam shat sensor light changed but still says bad, we put a new battery in but doesnt help.
I've had the car for 2 years. Since I've had it, it would randomly not start, the heat would only work in the back vents. Got everything fixed associated with starter, battery, everything. For the last 6 months, my engine like has been on, and an esp light. I got the engine checked, brakes fixed, routers, brake pedal switch replaced and it's still doing the exact thing. Gear won't shift sometimes but it isn't the transmission. Now they are saying possible electrical issue but this has been going on for months! after I've put more than 1000 into everything that has not fixed the issue.
Takata recall on my vehicle is possible with my transmission. While I was in motion and in drive my vehicle began to rev and not gain any speed. Takata recall, my cruise control light come on when in park but does not work while I am driving.
Tl- the contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while operating the vehicle the abs, ebs and traction control sensor lights had illuminated. After turning the vehicle off and restarting the engine the failure reoccurred. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 179,000. Jft.
Multiple electrical systems malfunction from interior lights air conditioner blend door headlight indicator switch and window switch. Car has had several calipers fail within owning the used car in less then 2 years. Loss of power while driving. Fuel indicator malfunctions. All electrical issues started at the same time. Radio and interior screen malfunction. I am scared to drive this car. The key for will set off alarm when hitting unlock.
I was stationary in a parking lot. My vehicle has electrical problems when it gets below 50 degrees f. All of my dashboard warning lights come on and my gauges won't register including my fuel, rpm, and speedometer. My turn signals won't work and neither will my emergency hazard lights. My door locks and window controls work intermittently when this happens. My navigation screen/back-up camera will not work and my wiper blades and headlights stay on even though the controls are set to off. My wiper spray nozzles won't work and neither will my high beams. It will stay like this until my vehicle warms up, usually about 20-30 min. I am a nurse and often have to take call at night, so sometimes I don't have time to let it warm up. I have had to download an app that will tell me my speed and pray I don't get into an accident. I have taken it to the dealership multiple times and they can never find the culprit so it just wastes my time and money.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. While driving 50 mph, the esc, abs, and traction control warning indicators illuminated. The contact stated that the brake pedal was depressed and the vehicle began to shimmy. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle, which cleared the warning indicators momentarily; however, the failure recurred. Atlantic Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram (2330 us-1, st augustine, FL 32086, (904) 797-4383) informed the contact that the lateral acceleration dynamic sensor failed and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,736.
I had to have transmission replaced which I filed a complaint already and since that the esp , all wheel drive, skidding and another light keeps coming on and off and my brakes only work half the time and now my driver window wont go up or down or mirror work and today my car wont start. My husband checked fuses they are good but have no power to over half of them. I called tate Dodge they want another 1102. 00 just for me to but the tipm part and do the work myself. I cant break a fuse box and do not feel this is fair and unless I replace then my car dont work now.
The car is acting possessed. The pedometers and all the lights on the dashboard are blinking on and off the windows are rolling up and down by itself. The car cuts off by itself which driving and when I put it in park the gear shift won't move out of park and the car won't cut on. I took it to the dealership and they told me that the tipm module needs to be replaced and the wire harness. But didnt tell me that its recalls out here 4 the same problem my car is having.
Let it be noted that after the r03 recall all the following issues started occurring. First incident: driving about 30mph every light on the dashboard except the engine light illuminated, gauges spun around and back and forth, then stopped all together, the rmp's revved up to 5ooo and the accelerator went to the floor with no action as if the car was off. There was a obviuous loss of power, the car was hesitating like it wanted to stall out, and the vehicle once stopped did not start again until being jumped. Once started, none of the light were on except, oddly now, the engine light which threw codes po0562 & po700. The battery read 12. 2v on the diagnostic while off then 14. 4 when the car was started(after being jumped for 1 minute only). 5 minutes into the drive and boom, the demon took over the car again but now the car would not go pst maybe 7mph, again in accelerator power,no shifting, all power still on in the car, but seems low on power. Once turned off, it would not start but still had power. Again, got jumped, diagnostic, and same codes, alternator fine, battery fine, seems to be getting poor connection. Started 2 days later and loud, unstable idle, won't switch gears seems as if its on but running off of stored power. Dealer now says only code is po622. Symptoms are seeming to be the tipm all over again. Again, none of this started until I took it to Dodge to have the ro3 recall repaired. The key since also does not register at times, will say "mismatch key" on dashboard, all sensors flash then go away such as (gascap, door ajar, check engine light would ignite with no code, gate, key), wouldn't turn over, frequent :dead battery" then starts without jump few minutes later. Overtime the car will act possessed with all lights on is after hitting a bump, again Chrysler dealer recall department is stating tipm, dewlap will not check that while diagnosing. Help!.
End of valve stem shot out of stem while trying to air up tire, end corroded and broke, replaced stem and sensor unit. Seems that this is a serious problem with the metal types that are put on and installed at the factory on these models cars. Even service station (firestone) said they have collection of bad stems on these vehicles. I got lucky that I noticed air pressure indicator light was on an took it to station to air up tire when I tried to put air in tire and end shot out like a rocket and then I lost all the air in my tire. What has to be done to have this issue taken care of by the manufacturer when these are obviously defective. Does some one have to be driving down the road get in an accident because the stem blows out and they get a flat or blow a tire. My car was stationary at the tire pump at the time this happened, I called road side assistance to remove my tire but there was nothing they could do otherwise.
The contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. While driving 50 mph and making a right turn on a curve, the vehicle started to wiggle. The contact depressed the brake pedal, skid into traffic, and crashed into a ditch; however, the vehicle continued skidding into the bushes. As a result, all four windows fractured. The vehicle was towed to the contacted residence. A police report was not filed and there were no injuries. The contact received notification of nets campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system). The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
We bought the car new in April of 2009. In August of 2012 brakes started acting 'sticky and jerky'. Took it back to the dealership just because of the brakes (had extended warranty). We had a strong feeling it had something to do with the esp bas system. They didn't even look at it before saying ¿no¿ it wasn't the esp bas system. Through multiple dealership service visits, oil changes and such; brakes stayed constantly jerky. 2+ years ago I went into dealership for tire rotation and oil change and they told me I'd have to replace my brakes soon. Unhappy with the long wait and cost of service at the dealership I've been taking the Journey into another shop where I asked them to check my brakes and they said they were fine. Yesterday while driving approx. 35mph the esp bas lights came on and all of a sudden the brakes weren't sticky or jerky. They worked like they were supposed to in the first place. The esp bas (yellow) lights will not turn off. I know sooner or later I'll have to replace the brakes because they put such shoddy ones on at the factory, but the problem with the esp bas is a computer problem that effected the brake system and it should have been addressed by the dealership. Between the poor dismissive way the dealership handled this esp bas problem (didn¿t even test drive) and the cheap brakes Dodge installed. I will never buy a vehicle from either of them again.
Tl-the contact owns a 2009 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while driving approximately 65 mph the vehicle stalled. The contact had to maneuver to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the house. The vehicle was towed to the used auto sales dealer. The vehicle was repaired. The contact also stated that a question mark warning indicator was illuminated at all times since the vehicle was purchased. The vehicle failure reoccurred. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle would not start this time. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 161,952. Bp.
Loses power will idle and also driving. Does not always start- requires car to be shifted in and out of park before starting. Dash lights dim when wipes are engaged or changes as well as when turn signal used. Recall no able to be done due to "parts not coming in" at dealership. Rapid tire wear and allignment issues. Spare tire is a temp doughnut and can not be used on awd cars,.
We are very concerned, my wife nothing in the car with the child every day, and the Dodge homestead in florida does not answer, not forbik you run the air bag, or, nor the electrical system, you will block placed, god forbid pass an accident.
I was driving down the road, (the road has a slope) my car hit a bump in the road and shut completely off. I kept pressing the brake but it didn't stop the car from rolling down hill because there was no power to the car. My car rolled into the back of another car. This vehicle is part of a recall and I have made several trips to a dealer to get it repaired but I am told each time that the part is not available. I am afraid to drive this car. This time it was an accident the next time it shuts off it may be a fatality.
2009 Dodge Journey has a recall ( l25) on the win module detent ring , this vehicle was sold to me by a dealership in 2012 with nothing showing on the car fax of this recall. The recall cause the key to slip from the ignition and completely shutting the car down while moving. The key inadvertently moves and the engine shut down , depowering the air bags, power steering and power braking. When initially calling in the complaint , Chrysler/ Dodge explained that there is no fix or part yet available. I further explained as a single mother this was a huge safety hazard , because in multiple occasions I have been on a freeway or street and almost rolled into another car , rolling down backwards on a freeway ramp unable to brake or telephone pole. Dodge/Chrysler stated I would just have to wait or take it to a dealership for a temporary fix. ( this same temporary fix is noted in the Dodge dealer system not to put in the newer year parts into an older model car ) after calling and going up to their recommended dealerships for Dodge the service department states they have their hands tied because there is still no part available for the year of my car. They also stated I would have to pay out of pocket almost 700 dollars for a temp fix using a newer model car that may or may not fix it . I am completely terrified to drive my car that I have to continue to pay on and Dodge/Chrysler is completely brushing off the issue. God forbid if we are harmed or eventually in an accident waiting 3 years later for a repair for this vehicle part.
I currently own a 2009 Dodge Journey, the driver side master power switch stopped working. The entire power switch is not inoperable. The driver side mirrors, car locks currently are not working but the back windows are working. The driver side heat vent blows cold air while the driver side blows hot air. I currently am awaiting supplies for a current recall so begin to research these two concerns. I find that over 46, 500 people have experienced the master power switch suddenly becoming inoperable with a previous recall correcting this issue. I contacted Chrysler to inquire about getting this recall done while placing my car in the shop for the current outstanding recall. I was told that my car was made two months after the recall period meaning that I would have to pay for those repairs out of pocket.
Both front window will not go up from left master swith however rt window will operate from rt swith. Diag found that the vehicle drive door harness and modulemust be replaced.
Car all of a sudden shuts off while driving down the street at various speeds. 35-70 steering wheel locks, you have very little control. Very very dangerous has been hooked up to certified auto shop diagnostic computer all codes come back fine and they can not tell me why this happens. I already replaced crankshaft sensor to test if that was what was wrong with it. I am not going to go thru all these fixes for testing. Dodge needs to do a recall on this problem. I called Dodge direct to start a recall process. Something needs to be done before a fatality happens!.
My cars has been acting up lately. Randomly it will not turn on when I turn the key in the ignition even though all the lights, radio, and ac turns on. All's I hear is a click and then it does nothing. Sometime it works fine, but other times I have to try 8-10 times before it will turn over. I am not sure if I will always be so lucky or if one of these times I will be stranded. I took the car in for regular maintenance and they checked the battery and it was okay. Also about a month ago I was driving down the road and the car started automatically locking and unlocking doors. Something is wrong with the electrical.
The car was scanned several times. It has electrical defects and shows up 17 codes, must of them active. Brakes lights and control panel don't works. When we open only the second row door, lights don't work, but if you open any front door then we have lights. Also, we have problems with the entertainment center. It was changed by the dealer a couple of times but still showing the same problem. All the dashboard lights was changed by the dealer but until now we still having the same problem, for example, gas meter goes on and off, mph meter and tachometer goes down and up while the car is moving on the road. A couple of times we were unable to turn on the car after a lot of tries. Car dealer changed battery of the car by June/2012. When this happen while driving the car I feel so insecure cause I have a 4 year old child and I afraid something bad happen to my child and me. Its so weird seen all the dashboard lights going on and off while driving, its like the car turned crazy.
Our electronic throttle control (etc) came on last Friday evening. We cycled the key and the etc sensor shut off. However, further searches showed that this problem could be caused by cold weather. No recalls are noted on NHTSA's website. The Dodge Journey handbook is very vague on what action should be taken if the etc sensor appears for a short time but then disappears after key cycling is complete.
I was driving my 2009 Dodge Journey today, 9/10/11 and all of a sudden it started to lose power. It began to shake as if it were trembling underneath the vehicle. The Journey was in drive and started to go backwards. I pressed the accelerator with my foot and it went straight to the floor. The gear shift was in drive and the car continued to go backwards with the gear shift in drive. I was very frantic and then began to press the brake pedal with my foot. The Journey would not stop. The brake pedal went straight to the floor as the car continued to go backwards. I quickly pressed the emergency brake with my left foot and the car stopped suddenly and shut off while the gear was still in drive. I put the gear back in the park position and tried to start the car but it would not crank. I made a report to Dodge by calling (800) 992-1992 on Sunday September 11, 2011. I received a reference case number: 21334169. I received a call from Dodge from (800) 763-8433 on Monday September 12, 2011 from case managers britt (ext. 66208) and keith (ext. 66194). I returned their calls but never had the opportunity to speak with them. They were not available. I left multiple messages for them both and spoke with various people at the call center; neither case manager never returned my calls and I was informed from different representatives at the call center that both britt and keith declined any service to my vehicle due to the high mileage and it being out of warranty. The electrical problem is a manufactured defect with the 2009 Journey and has been recognized nationwide by other vehicle owners.
I purchased a 2009 Dodge Journey. At 22,000 miles the brakes failed. The front brake pads had completely worn to the metal. The rotors where gouged terribly. The rear were ok?. . . The dealer stated "they must be using soft pads"????. . . . Unsafe to drive, brake failure could occur at any moment. The 19' tires do not match the very small brake assembly. . . And Dodge's "bumper to bumper" warranty is a lie.
