36 Equipment problem

For the last 3 weeks when it gets hot outside, usual over 90 degrees my car will not start after being parked for 10 minutes or a few hours. It will click but will not turn over. I took it to a mechanic and the mechanic determined that the battery may be going bad though it held a charge. I had the battery replaced that same day which was 5 days ago for $225. 00. Today the car did the same thing, it would click but not turn over. The vehicle had been parked for 15 minutes while I went into the hospital. A bystander said she thinks it was the battery based on the sound which I know it could not be as the battery was just replaced. I tried several times to start the car and it would not turn over. The temperature outside is 94 degrees. I looked online and saw there were several complaints in different forums from consumers with the exact same make and model. One commenter stated that if you press the brake then put the car in neutral the car should start and it would indicate that the neutral safety switch was the issue. I followed the suggestion and the car started. As I have looked through several different online forums I see this is a very common problem with this make and model however I do not see a recall issued.

The hatch door will not unlock with the key fob or from the door unlock button on the driver's door. It was sitting in a parking lot when I tried to unlock. I also tried several hours later after it had been sitting for at least 4 hours, and nothing will unlock the door.

Was driving down the highway (straight) my car made a loud noise and started smoking. We pulled over right way on the side of the road called a tow truck and waited two hours for the car to be picked up. When we got it to the shop by a tow truck the shop stated that the transfer case blew up. We were in oregon at the time.

Every four rotations of the ignition results in my vehicle being unable to start. I get 3 clicks with no start. The vehicle is stationary at the time of affect. I have been rendered stranded at doctor's offices due to this issue. Dodge refuses to look at it or acknowledge there are issues. Every time I have taken this vehicle to the dealership, they want $125 just to diagnose the issue.

My Dodge Journey has run great for a few years now it is having a hard time starting. I have already replaced the battery and several fuses with no luck. It also seems to loose power and have a loud tapping noise in the engine compartment when it is cold. I have taken in the car to my mechanic to get the tapping checked we change oil (even when it does not need it) and the noise will go a way. So in a summary, I ahve a no starting, phantom tapping noise Dodge joirney.

Our Journey has been in a shop, out of service for over 3 weeks. It stalls at low rpms and is difficult to start. We took it to one shop who couldn't figure out the problem and we then took it to a Dodge dealership. The dealership couldn't figure out the problem either. We took it to a 3rd shop and they tried several fixes to no avail. They think it might be a torque converter now. If that fixes the problem we'll have spent over $2000 repairing the car and not being drivable for a month. If it doesn't fix the problem then I have an issue even manufacturer trained mechanics can't figure out.

Own a 2009 Dodge Journey. Replaced the heater core 3 years ago. Warranty for 1 year. New coil went up approx. 2 weeks after warranty. Refused to warranty it. Paid to have another heater coil installed. Said it was warranted for 2 years. Same problem happened last week. Went and talked to dealer about warranty for this one. They said no, that it was out of warranty by 15 days. Told me to call Dodge good will department. They told me that I had to pay to have it checked first. That cost was about $80. 00 and no guarantee that it would be covered even though it's an on going problem. An employee told me that they replace a lot of these heater coils. Obviously there's a problem. Checked on the internet about this problem and there's a lot of the same problems that I'm having, hot air on drivers side cold air on passengers side until it totally goes up. Several mechanics on the internet stated that it's a flaw in its design. 2 main problems, first seems split second it plugs with sediment very easily. Obviously very little heat when car is running.

No heat or defrost on passenger side of car. This car has now had 4 heater cores replaced since new. They only last around 16000 miles to 18000 miles I'm told that they get plugged in some manor. Not sure why but after 4 times there seems to be a manufacturing issue with the Dodge parts. And after doing some research this is not the only Dodge auto that has this issue.

I have been trying to get any Dodge dealership to help me take care of recall ro3 and I continue to get the run around. I finally got one to make an appointment with and took the day off of work to get it resolved. After waiting for 3. 5 hours I was told the "part wasn't in" even though I had scheduled the appointment weeks in advance and was told they had the parts. So again I have gotten the run around from Dodge. I do not have confidence that this problem will ever be taken care of by Dodge.

My Dodge Journey will not always start it will just click then after several attempts it will start. My drivers side door the power window does not work it just stopped working. Now my gear shift does not want to shift into gear, start the car up the cas traction light is on and the gear will be stuck. So I have to turn the car off several times then I am able to move the gear shift. It is very frustrating to get in your car and you cannot either start it or it just do not move .

Back doors on both sides fill up with water when it rains or car is washed. You can hearn the water slosshing in rhe door when you swing the door.

I' got this car and the repairs never stopped coming. I've replaced the brakes & rotors 4 times in 3 years. I had to pay to have the car re-wired due to electrical problems & add a starter, replaced hoses. Shocks and ball joints. This has to be the worst vehicle ever.

End of valve stem shot out of stem while trying to air up tire, end corroded and broke, replaced stem and sensor unit. Seems that this is a serious problem with the metal types that are put on and installed at the factory on these models cars. Even service station (firestone) said they have collection of bad stems on these vehicles. I got lucky that I noticed air pressure indicator light was on an took it to station to air up tire when I tried to put air in tire and end shot out like a rocket and then I lost all the air in my tire. What has to be done to have this issue taken care of by the manufacturer when these are obviously defective. Does some one have to be driving down the road get in an accident because the stem blows out and they get a flat or blow a tire. My car was stationary at the tire pump at the time this happened, I called road side assistance to remove my tire but there was nothing they could do otherwise.

The consumer stated when she was finally able to take the vehicle to the dealer for the recall, she was informed the vehicle needed other repairs totaling over $1,000. 00. The consumer believed the dealer was being dishonest and trying to make money in labor cost.

We called our local Dodge dealer, university Dodge of florence alabama and we were told that the safety recall that is required for our vehicle was not able to be ordered at this time, and might take upwards of 2 years to recieve the part to fix the recall. This is unacceptable to me and endangers our safety and our families safety.

We have had to every few weeks change either the rotors or the hub. Ever since we got the car in January its been with the abs lights on constintly and squelling coming from the right passenger side only. It even will at times shake like its not going to brake at all.

There is a electrical malfunction in this vehicle fuses go out every couple of months, dual control heat right side does not heat, also when driving burning smell coming out of heat went, had several parts replaced. I contacted manufacturer regarding the issues, their reply was " we are sorry that you have issues but we cannot help you", purchased after market warranty and they refuse to cover the heat issue.

I received notice that my vehicle was on the recall list for the win module and l25 safety recall. I called my local dealer the very next day. This was in may 2015. I was informed there were no parts available and that I would be added to the waiting list. Recently my vehicle has started shutting off after I crank it. Sometimes this happens when I have just cranked it but other times I am moving such as backing out of my driveway or pulling out of a parking lot. I recalled the dealer and they still told me there were no parts available.

I received safety recall notice- l25/NHTSA 14v-373 which informed me to take my car to the dealer to have a possible safety condition with the fobik repaired/replaced. It stated that the engine may shutoff during operation as well as air bags and could increase crash risk and occupant injury. After a lengthy wait of almost 4 months or so for parts I took my vehicle to the dealer. I showed them the safety notice prior to the work being done and they informed me I would have to pay for a key shank. I disputed with them that the notice says parts and labor were free of charge. I still had to pay $37. 31 for the key shank they gave me some type of explanation but I am still not happy that I had to pay any amount of money because the notice clearly says parts and labor free of charge. I have the original safety notice and receipts from the repair work.

Car stopped would not start. Was told by dealer westborn Chrysler that Chrysler llc will not issue the recall ignition part. Car was towed to westborn Chrysler 11:31 am on 06/08/2015. The dealer has given me phone numbers to call to no avail. I own my car free and clear. My car has been at dealer for 15 days with no date given for completion of the work. Each time I inquire about car repair, they say Chrysler won't allow them to order part because they have not sold enough Dodge cars. Car is under a recall. Help.

My 2009 Dodge Journey will sometimes not start up. The first event was on Saturday, June 6th. The car turns on but the fails to turn over unreliably and often. The car is unpredictable. Being able to go anywhere has been a roll of the dice. We have a recall on the Journey set up with milosch palace dealership in michigan, our dealership. However, they have been very unreliable. We received the recall letter in June. We were set up an appointment on July 9th and told we had a part waiting for us. We showed up to the scheduled appointment and they did not have a part for us. They then told us it was back ordered and we would be informed when the part arrived. It has been over a month since the appointment and over two months since we have been informed of the recall and still no repair. This is unacceptable. We still have yet to receive the part for repair on the recall.

Approximately 6 weeks ago I received a recall notice from fiat chysler / NHTSA about a safety recall for the wireless ignition node module on my 2009 Dodge Journey. 6 months before that I received a recall notice just from fiat chysler themselves about the recall. I continue to call weekly and am told they have not started making the part, have no time frame when they will begin shipping the parts and don't know when they will start doing any repairs for my vehicle. I would appreciate any help or solution that the NHTSA can provide my. I have been waiting patiently for a long time for fiat chysler resolve this problem and feel that they have no intensions of ever doing anything about it. Dodge recall r03. We have been waiting over a year for the cullman, al Dodge dealership to perform the recall work for recall r03. Dodge site shows that parts are available but we have still not heard back from cullman Chrysler Dodge. We were put on their waiting list over a year ago.

I bought my auto in April 0f 2015 and weeks later I started having starting issues were it would just randomly not start after having the starter and battery checked out and found to be no issues. I searched the internet and found hundreds of complaints on this vechile with the same exact issue I contacted dealer and told me they would have to check lots of this out would end up costing me thousands. Another issue I have with the vechile is it leaks in the rear headliner area after having it checked by a shop it found no issues visible read on internet again and found more complaints of the same as well. This car is a lemon and the manufacturer will not fix these issues.

The horn beeps for no reason when the car is in park. It will go hours with no honking then will honk for an hour beep then beep beep beep then beep then beep beep beep. And so on. Then it will stop for a half an hour and start all over again then stop for a few hours and start. My husband finally pulled the fuse. We had to have a new battery installed on 5-27-15 and were told it has nothing to do with that. Does it have anything to do with the recall I just saw that was issued on 5-16-15.

On Wednesday April 22nd, I was stranded at the grocery store because my 2009 Dodge Journey would not start. I repidetly tried to start the car and I got a "bad key" message on the dash board. Thinking it was the key, I tried my spare key that I keep in my bag but the car would not start. Nothing lit up and there was no noise what so ever from the engine. As a mom with four young kids, this is one of my worst nightmares. Not only were we stranded at the grocery store, we were late for school. We waited for an hour for someone to pick us up and then had to call a tow truck to take the car to our local Dodge dealer. Unfortunately, our dealer has no loner vehicles we could have used. On last Thursday afternoon, I got a call from the brown Dodge service who told me the module needed to be replaced and I had to get two new keys as it all comes together as one package and I was told it would cost $700. . Then it happened again a couple of weeks later and I had to pay for yet another tow truck. Same symptom's, the car would not start when I turned the ignition switch. When I took it to the brown Dodge dealer they claimed it was a bad battery. So I paid to have it replaced. Then it happened again but luckily this time the car started after I had to try turn the ignition switch on about fifteen times, and I drove it directly to the dealership again. Once there, I kept it there for 4 days so they could see what was going on. Every time they turn the ignition switch, the car started for them. So nothing was fixed. Well, this has been happening every week for the past three months. This past week I was stuck with my children at the bank for 30 minutes until the car would start. The local dealership cannot fix it and I don't know what to do. It is not safe and I am always worried about my car not starting.

My car doesn't start al the time it stalls and I was never advised of the recalls when I purchased the car in Feb 2015 Chrysler has no parts to fix he recall on the ignition and I don't feel safe driving it however they want me to leave my only car with them until it stalls on them for them, to diagnose if it is due to the recall.

On February 22, 2015, my 2009 Dodge Journey miraculously caught on fire. The car was sitting in the parking lot of my church on top of a small snow pile. After about 40-45 minutes the car started smoking. Both the fire and police department came to the scene. The fire department told me that it looked as though it was an engine departmental fire. I contacted Chrysler on February 24th to give my statement and then I was notified that someone was going to inspect the vehicle and then let me know of any findings. On March 6th I received a letter stating that the wingate l25 was not the cause of the fire, but they never mentioned what was the actual cause. Needless to say I got the run around for about a month and in the end Chrysler's legal department told me that the findings were unknown and that they were not going to do anything about it. My vehicle was burnt up by the time it completed it's course. . . It was so bad to the point you could barely recognize my child's car seat. I did not even have the vehicle for a year and this happened. I'm very grateful that no one got hurt because this could have been fatal. This has put me in a financial ruins and fiat Chrysler doesn't seem to care anything about it's consumers. I will never buy a Chrysler vehicle again.
