There is a lighting bolt that repeatedly pops up on dashboard and the car cuts off immediately in mid drive !! I have been to the dealership spent $3200 plus and it just keeps coming back on . Also all the lights flicker on and off while driving or when you hit the turning signals this is ridiculous!! it’s 2022, these issues should had been recalled !!! this is horrible and unsafe especially when driving with children!.
Vehicle loses power while driving. Sometimes it will not start being stranded with kids as this vehicle was produced as a family car. Had battery, alternator, starter replaced. Have read numerous reports from google about vehicle not starting due to safety security features, problems with the fuse box, needing a yellow wire grounded that is located under the hood, and so on. If this is a know issue with these vehicles for over 10yrs why has it not been recalled to be fixed. As I drive the vehicle on the freeway with my kids in it endaragering our lives and the many others who are on the road with me and the countless other Dodge Journey drivers. Fix this issue. Make Dodge accountable for their mistake as they know what they did.

It started with a window not going up, then the electrical wires to the front left headliggt burned out and melted the bulb connector. Bulb connector was replaced and it happened again. Keyless entry fobs stopped working, batteries were changed and fobs were tested but they still don't work. Alarm goes off at random times and takes us starting and moving the car 50 feet to turn it off. The other night the car horn went off in the middle of the night randomly, about 12 times. Now the hornnis going off as we drive for no reason. This car ckearly has electrical issues. Electrical parts keep burning out causing me to change them for reinspection time by the state.
While driving my son to school everything shuts off in car while driving from the lights interior and exterior, wipers, windows can not go up or down, unable to alert anyone in traffic that I was coming to a stop. This occurred while it was still dark outside. Has happened multiple times now no one knows what is going on after taking into shop I was given this site to report it due to several others claiming same issue.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the low beams failed to function as well as the high beams. The contact had to apply the running lights due to the failure. The vehicle was not taken toa dealer to be diagnosed. The contact mentioned that the vehicle was not able to be driven. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was not available.
It's not your starter or alternator it's your neutral cut out (safety switch). Have to put it in neutral to start. Own a 2010 and have called and complained about it as it is a safety problem. If you don't get any satisfaction from your dealer or Dodge file a defect complaint form and get them to investigate a recall. Save your receipts for all expenses incurred for this issue and they will reimburse you. It's been happening more often it is sporadic, looking up this info. I see it is a problem with these vehicles I need it fixed I can not afford to get stuck I am a single mom.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey. While driving 40 mph, the head lamps flickered and failed to illuminate. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the totally integrated power module (tipm) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 137,000.
The alarm system goes off by itself. The lights flash and the horn blows while the car is off. It can be at different times of the day.
My lights are very dim on the inside of the car and my fob just stop working I have went to the dealership to replace the batteries however it still does not work. My driver side passenger door is no longer hooked up to the fob or the door unlock/lock button) you do it manually.
I have been having trouble with my brakes which has been replaced but still grinding noise and squeaky and rotors has been turned. The vehicle has cut off many times, sitting at the traffic light and as getting ready to go and as coming to a stop. It has also cut off as turning and once I realized it I had to try to restart it. It has at times door not unlock and not lock. As putting on brake to come to a stop it shakes. The lights are getting worse they are flickering on and off. Outside light goes out and whole dash goes off while driving. I have to keep flicking the lights as I'm driving so they can come back on. The vehicle has many times not start up and just click when trying to start it.
Made a left hand turn and suddenly the air conditioner, radio, lights, windows stopped working. Drove to a lot and pulled over and everything came back on. Then move the steering wheel and everything shut off again. Turned the car off and everything came back and has worked fine so far. However, the car wouldn't start earlier when turned on. Had to start the car 3 times before it came on.
The interior lights stays on for a long period of time when I start and after shutting down the SUV. The interior lights go out about 15 minutes or so after turning the SUV off. Once I start the SUV and drive, the interior light remains on in the front & upper rear overhead. The electronic key is now locking my doors just from touching the top of the key. There are times, I'm not hitting the button to lock, but just from touching the top of the key with my finger, the doors will automatically lock. Scary!!! the steering wheel shakes visibly when braking.
Taking car to look at, ck engine light on. Had problems with it cutting off on e'way ramp. Took off all keys. Mechanic told me car was built with a defect motor. Nothing he could do. Taking to another mechanic and esp bas light and traction light comes on.
The contact owns a 2010 Dodge Journey awd. While driving 30 mph, the electrical functions, including the exterior lighting, failed but the engine continued to run. The contact maneuvered into the emergency lane and shut off the vehicle. The contact was able to restart the vehicle and the electrical functions resumed; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, but they refused to diagnose the vehicle because it was out of warranty. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (air bags, electrical system); however, the part to repair the recall was unavailable and the dealer stated that it would not be available for six months to a year. The contact mentioned the wait period was unreasonable. The manufacturer was not made aware of the issue. The approximate failure mileage was 71,000.
Since December while driving the vehicle all of a sudden the radio, blinkers and front/back and head lights turn off. I literally have to pull the vehicle over and turn the car off and re-start the engine till it happens again and have to do the samething. I took it to the dealership where we just purchased the vehicle two weeks prior and they stated it was only a fuse. It constantly still happens which is a serious safety issue especially with children in the vehicle. It also takes sometimes 3-5 tries to start the car.
The car lights do not work turned on manually or automatic. When it first started it was very intermittent, currently it's almost daily. I have had it to 2 different dealerships (before and after warranty). Both times I have been told they cannot find anything wrong and I need to bring it in when it happens. My response "you are not open when it happens, it's dark". I have also had it to my mechanic multiple times and got bless his sole he found the problem this past weekend. I did not have it fixed he said it will probably be somewhere need 1200. 00. He also told me that this is a major defect and should be fixed via a recall. I did look that up and there are multiple complaints but no recall. My son currently drives the car and is away at college which poses all sorts of issues. We have a short term solution we figured out that if you unplug the battery and plug it back in the lights reset, not very convenient. My mechanic also suggested rewiring the high beams to the regular lights but then you wouldn't have high beams.
The braking system makes a loud crunching noise and gets mushy when you're on a slippery surface making it hard to stop.
While driving I randomly lose all interior power - windows, wipers, radio, ac, signals. Engine continues to run and steer fine. Shutting off ignition and restarting corrects problem. It happens with no warning and no apparent cause. Ac blower burned out about a year ago; dealer said it was due to a short and they fixed the short for free, but that didn't solve the power loss problem. I've found that pushing the ignition fob slightly in - or pulling slightly out - when it happens can resolve the problem without having to restart the vehicle but I worry that this problem will burn out the ac blower again. This loss of interior power happens on average once every 4 to 6 weeks; it's a safety issue since I the wipers or defog may stop working when it's raining. I don't know if it affects airbag performance and I'd rather not find out that hard way.
My husband and I purchased a 2010 Dodge Journey se VIN#3d4pg4fbxat156516 in year 2010 in canada, in 2013 we imported it into us and we are living in michigan. During the five-year ownership, this vehicle has been causing safety problem many times, the issue is sudden lost of electric power for turning signal, wiper motor power, radio and all dashboard light, except the engine running. The first time of such incident happened within 1 year of ownership while we were at turning signal, the vehicle lost turning signal caused confusion to the vehicle behind and almost caused an accident, and since then every few months or so this incident happens, the dealer did multiple repair to it, but never really solved the problem. Many times the dealers could not replicate the issue we report. I recently experienced twice of such incidents, one was during raining day and the wiper lost power I could not see ahead and had to stop on road, the most resent was yesterday I lost ventilation to the window and could not see through the window due to moisture on window. I video taped these two incidents and would like to forward to you if I can find a way to attach to this complain letter. This is very serous safety issue can cause fatal accidents, we need your help to force manufacture to admit the issue and address the issue immediately before fatal accident happens. Thank you!.
