On multiple occasions my vehicle will loose all power. If I'm going over 45 it usually restarts itself. If under 40 the steering locks up, all electrical shuts down and I cannot get hazard lights or pull over. I can throw it into neutral and hit the push-to-start and it restarts. Sometimes, like at stoplights, I have had to throw it into park then restart it. There have been a few instances of it not restarting no matter what we try. Through trial and error we got it to start again after serious rocking. I have noticed it happens more if the usb port or aux port are being used, although it has happened a couple of times without those being touched. Has only been happening since the majority of the functions with my on-board entertainment unit went out. Dealership can not diagnose, say they cannot get the problem to duplicate. I have videos of this happening but dealership has not been interested in seeing them.
I have changed my key fob 3 times and got a new battery and it still say key is not detected. I have to get a job every 3 months to get my car started.
H20 sensor when turning button to heat up car it doesnt work.
Water leaks from the hood by the driver's side headlight on to the battery causing the terminals to corrode over time. Poor design flaw that left me having to cancel a trip.
Wow!!!!!!!!!! is all I can say, I can't believe the amount of problems this car has. With that being said I'm hoping that since I financed this vehicle, that the finance company will help me because this dealership "clearly" sold me a lemon and I'm sure they know it is. Everything electrical in my 2012 Journey started surging to the point where I thought it was going die on me while driving on a highway here on vancouver island b. C. Canada. I've had problems with the push button start ( sometimes 4 attempts to start it are needed ) . I really love the vehicle with the cost to repair modern days cars, I think I want to find a way to return it ( it's only been 5 months since I've had it ) . The dealership says it's probably the battery and offered to replace it so on the 27th of this month, I will take it to the dealers and try to return it all together. None of us should be having issues like this and I'm really disappointed with Dodge and how they're "not" doing much to help anyone. Sadly these vehicles are "lemons" and should all be recalled and junked imo. Sorry to hear so many other's have problems too , just keep your roadside assist up to date lol cause I feel we're "all" going to need it eventually and who wants to be stuck in the middle of nowhere.
I was driving on very busy highway I-270 in columbus ohio my car stop on me on the highway that happens back in 2/14/2018 I started it back keep going luckily no accident occurred through that week continue doing it I take to shop get it fixed. His making strange noise from the dashboard often I don't know where the noise is coming from am really scared to put my family in its because that our family car.
Last week I was driving my car and it felt like it was going to stall at a stop sign. Then the engine light came on when I started driving again. While driving on a busy highway my car just shut off. No brakes, or steering. I had 3 kids in the car 2 being toddlers. I was able to put it into park and start it again to get it off the road. This is the first time this happened to me and now I am scared to drive it. As for electrical my car randomly sometimes just changes radio stations, u connect doesn't work. When disconnecting the battery it works for about a month and you can not use it anymore.

Takata recall I was driving home while at a stop light I smelt a burn odor. I was just a 1/4 of a mile from home so I drove it home. Upon parking I noticed there was a small spot under my car forming. About the size of a quarter. Check all my fluids and and nothing was low. The next day it started and ran ok until it was ran for about 15 then once again the smell and now a low growling. I pulled off the road and parked at a gas station. I had a local shop look at my car and they determined my transfer case is broken. I have been having issues with my car when accelerating it would pull sharply to the right when it shifted gears. Was told there was nothing wrong with my car. It shouldn't try and change lanes when you accelerate. I have almost hit the car next to me just by accelerating. I have also been driving along and have my car turn off. I had to coast to the side of the road, put it in park and start it again. This has happened on four different occasions. The stalling happened on the highway while the transfer case was on city street.
My vehicle odometer would jump from 0 to 30 while in motion(foot on pedal) and vice versa. Wiperblades started all on it's on without being turned on. No current is being brought to whole entire vehicle. Vehicle won't turn over or lock without being hooked to another battery. Can jump start but once connection is off the vehicle shuts back off. All lights flickered on and off on dash board when they never came on the 2 years I had the vehicle.
My electrical system totally failed on my 2012 Dodge Journey, I have had over 20 fires under hood of this Dodge Journey I have taken the car over and over to the dealership over a 4 year period they say the Dodge told them not to repair the car, so on 2/28/2018 the 2012 Dodge Journey was totaled by fire, the total car blow up under the car when the electrical system failed the converter fill with gas me and my family nearly died that day to this present day there has been nothing done about these problems before this happened the wiper , the radio , everything would turn on without a switch beening turned on. . . . . . I nearly had a head on that day 2/28/2018 becauce I had limited steering and brakes when the car blow up , can someone at this agency help with anyof these problems, also there was serious personal injuries that day as well. . Please reply, I have found a lot of other people online with the same problems , always 2012 -2013 Dodge Journeys with 2. 4 liter engines please help. . . . .
An accident was reported on 11/16/2017, this year. Could it be to the air bag did not deploying as an fire-hydrant was struck tearing off the passenger side of the SUV and permanently damaging the engine cradle was torn from the motor.
The power in my vehicle went out and my breaks locked up, the car just dies. No hazards or anything. My car stopped while driving down a heavy traffic street. Two cars almost hit my kids and I. The car does come back on a few seconds later or several minutes later. The longest time period was when I got the car towed to a shop Saturday. Once, we arrived at the shop it had come back on. This is not the first time and I fear even after we get it from the shop it will not be the last.
While driving the vehicle on a 4 lane highway the car stopped in the middle of traffic while accelerating. The vehicle had no indication/warning of its shut off. I had my child in the vehicle and could have been in a serious accident. I tried starting the vehicle again and it would not turn over. Vehicle has had all required/recommended maintenance. Vehicle has 140000 miles. Unknown of the cause of the shut off.
My Dodge while riding radio come on go off the heater turn all the way up and it want crank most time you get ready to go it just goes haywire not dependable brought a battery thought that was the problem but not.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. While driving approximately 20 mph, the windshield wipers activated, the vehicle lighting suddenly illuminated, and a burning odor was present. The vehicle shut off and was towed to the dealer (simi valley Dodge located in simi valley, CA) where it was diagnosed that a wire harness caught on fire and melted. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 93,000.
The heater works great on the driverside and blows cold on the passenger side no matter what you do. Autostart doesn't work when it's cold out, thought that was the point of it but guess not. Makes a really loud winding noise when I starting it,also goes into gears hard most of the time. Got the hard to find 225/55/19 tires on it and my brakes make a lot of noises. My front end makes a bunch of popping and grinding when turning left or right going forward or backwards, heatsheild is falling off around the driveshaft. Service all wheel drive light comes on often, the park assist stopped working ,taillights flickering often, one of my fobs works when it wants to even with a new battery. Driver seat is also starting to act up to having to wiggle the switch around to make it work. No one wants to fix the problems with my Journey rt making me regret getting this SUV I was practically forced into buying/trading it and when I went to the place of purchase a few days after getting was promised these issues fixed and I'm still waiting will not put my children in this car going to get rid of this nightmare soon as I get the chance since this so called 4star safety raiting is bs don't feel safe at all.
While driving the car suddenly losses power and the stability lights and abs lights all flash. This occurs while driving on the city street and highway and turning. The shop says they do not know what is causing it. There are lots of customers on the internet with the same type of problems. This does not occur while sitting still only in motion. This has happened numerous times and when we check for codes all it says if engine misfire even though there are stability light and abs light on.
Am driving Dodge Journey 2012. Initially the issue was intermittent but it is permanent now. All four switches are not working. When I press the switch it generates continuous clicking sound.
Dodge recall 2011-2015 2012 Dodge Journey purchased March 25 2017 - total loss as of April 24th 2017 engine blew during a reverse.
I was driving my SUV and while driving my truck stalled and I could not turn it off for several means. The steering wheel locked up and my push start button would not let me turn it off to restart. After 10 mins it let me restart. I had it towed to a car repair shop and they can not find anything wrong . The first shop told me that my oil was mixing with my coolant and visa versa . I then took it to the main shop to have it looked at and they say it's nothing wrong. I just drop my kids off moms before this happen and I just got off the interstate, the possibility of it cutting off while my kids are in the vehicle is dangerous.

We had issues with the differential, updates needed and Dodge has no clue. But now this. . . We have a 2012 Dodge Journey that is acting very strange. It started with the headlights being on, even when they were off (we do not have automatic lights). . . Then after the car was off, the headlights would flash on and off every 10-30 seconds, we would have to undo the battery to keep it from dieing. We replaced the headlights switch and it still does and added a symptom. When my husband would manually lock the doors, it would unlock by itself. We were told it was the tipm which has to be done by Dodge. Not sure what it will do next!.
The uconnect touch screen system went blank and the uconnect touch hand controls along with the switch bank controls stopped working. This means no heat or ac control and no radio/volume control. Even though this happened in mid summer, if it had happened in winter, there is no control of defrost system and a potential driving hazard. The dealer diagnosed the problem as a faulty telematics gateway module and the whole radio system needs to be removed to replace it. Cost $800 to fix!.
I purchased a used 2012 Dodge Journey in September 2015 from lakeshore Chrysler Dodge and Jeep of slidell, louisiana. We have had nothing but problems since driving off the lot. Found out after purchase that the car was not inspected prior to dealership reselling it. Before I even got home the check engine light came on. I called the dealership and reported issues. They did the oil change and inspected the car and said everything was fine it was "normal noises" however after complaining and complaining the were able to locate and fix the issue with the shifting noises and jolting. We are still experiencing the "normal noise" of three clicks when the engine turns off. We have numerous electrical/computer issues. The air, radio, touch screen, lights, all got off randomly. The system will not respond even if the vehicle is turned off and back on. It works when it wants to. We have issues where the car accelerates faster on its own have to break while car still tries to accelerate. We have had this vehicle in the shop numerous times since the purchase and they "can not duplicate the issue" so they can not fix it. I have provided numerous videos showing and proving the electrical/computer issues we are having. Dodge refuses to do anything to fix the situation. Everything is at our expense. Wants us to pay 150 diagnostic fee on top of having to get rent-a-car for the duration of time the vehicle is in the shop. The dealership has had my car on numerous occasions. One time they had it for over 18 days and said "normal noise" and "could not duplicate" however out of the 18 days they only drove the car 35 miles. I no longer feel safe driving this car. It scares me just to drive to the local grocery which we gotten stuck and had to have towed to dealership. I am so scared & trapped in this car with no way out. Contacting a lawyer this can not be legal to sell defects.
The contact owns a 2012 Dodge Journey. While the key was in the vehicle, the sensor illuminated and indicated that the key had left the vehicle. The vehicle would shut off without warning. The vehicle would not shift up or down from fourth gear. Even when turning the vehicle off and restarting, the vehicle remained in fourth gear. The manufacturer was notified. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 49,000.
Wife was driving the car and the battery light came on and radio and heater went off. She took it to oreillys and they said it was the altenator. I replaced the altenator and the heater or defroster still will not work and the battery light is still on. We have had problems with the computer with this car. The turn signals were not working correctly when you turned on the left signal the right signal would come on. Really dissapointed in this car at this time and Dodge.
In the middle of the winter 2015-2016 I had to replace my radiator due to a small crack that developed. My heat started to malfunction the following winter 2016-2017 it only worked part of the time. Starting in the fall of 2017 my heat went out completely. We took it in to have them check the heater core, come to find out that since the heater core is installed at an angle it doesn't drain the sludge properly. I have also noticed that my air conditioning will turn on at random. I don't know exactly when this started, but it will turn on by itself. Just this morning 8/13/18 my air turned on 15 times, after being shut off every time. I'm wondering if this is something wrong electronically. Thank you for your time and consideration on my 2012 Dodge Journey.

The instrument panel which controls your ability to turn on radio, tape player, and heating/air conditioning has gone out. I purchased this car in November 2013, and it's unfortunate for me that I did. Another failure of this automobile is when it rains heavily, my back doors fill with rain water. You can hear it inside of the doors. It makes me believe that the car was in some type of flooding condition. My back wheel on the drive's side also has a brownish-red tinge that appears to be rust. I am disappointed. Did I see the correct report of the reliability of the car? when you place the key in the ignition and start, or use any of the modes on the ignition, the screen was constantly stating, "loading," and it turned black and is out. This happened before in 2014 and I thought that maybe it was just a glitch, but it isn't.
