The contact owns a 2013 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that while her husband was pulling the vehicle out of the driveway, the passenger's headrest abruptly exploded. No injuries were reported. The contact related to the failure with the extended warranty program: active head restraint (ahr) inadvertent deployment- x88 warranty extension. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. However, they confirmed the vehicle was no longer covered under the warranty extension. The contact stated she never received notification of this communication. The manufacturer also advised to contact the NHTSA hotline. The failure mileage was approximately 180,000.
This car is brand new and has major flaw leaks water through roof somewhere and whole headliner is full of water is coming out of heater vents in ceiling as well as dvd entertainment system which I believe is a electrical hazard . Vehicle was brought to dealer once and waiting for second appointment . Was told clogged vents car was 2 months old and never had an issue I don't believe clogged vents serious issue . Can cause several mechanical and safety issues.
