general problems of the 2014 Dodge Journey - part 2

In the past two years I have had multiple electrical problems. The a/c turns on all on its own. The radio changes channels on its own but most important this morning 23 oct 2019 my 2014 Dodge Journey completely shutdown while I was making a right hand turn. Luckily I was able to get off the road safely.

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Dodge Journey. While driving at various speeds while accelerating the vehicle sputtered and stalled however restarted. The tachometer and speedometer became inoperable but resets and worked as designed. The battery warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to several independent mechanics where the battery was replaced. The contact called baxter Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram la vista 7010 s 124th cir, la vista, ne 68128 (402) 800-1229 but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 150,000. Ap.

This issue with the throttle position sensor has been going on for me, since I bought the car from dealership last year 2019. Has happened 3 times. I can drive and the car stalls, loses it power to drive, car shakes with acceleration. Had to have the dealer clear code once in July 2019, so didnt have the car for 6 months yet. Then it happened earlier this year and then it happened July 2020. Everytime this goes bad I take it in and they reset the sensor. . I feel this is a safety issue especially with it reoccurring and I have two little children k drive around. It happens out of nowhere and its my first new car and thos is a saftey habit. Im afraid to travel to see family on the east coast. The thunderbolt light will start flashes and car loses its acceleration. The engine light came on as well. The traction tire light also turns off. Car does not gain acceleration and shakes. This is an ongoing issue with my Dodge and othwr reviews.

Dashboard lights, cabin lights and radio constantly going off and on while driving. This happens while highway driving and on the street.

About three weeks ago, the abs and check light came on, I researched recalls and took car to schlossmann's Dodge city. I was advised that due to weather and water leaking into wire harness that it was corroded. In which this is the basis of the r61 recall. However, since my issue is with left wheel sensor and not the front right, it is not covered. I am wondering what the difference is - if the result and cause is the same - why would it not be covered? I have also noticed that the cruise control no longer works - is this related?.

Vehicle just won’t start sometimes. Changed battery , alternator, starter, etc system. And nothing has helped. No rhyme or reason some days it starts perfectly fine multiple times . . Other days I’ll go out and it just won’t start. I can go to my destination turn it off and it won’t turn back on.

The rear window defrost dash control keeps blinking and with that I have no control over the hvac system. It is constantly on low �1� blow power and it isn't only blowing cold. In the north east in winter (today was 6 degrees and tha ksfiving day where all auto shops are closed) it is not safe. There is a crunching sound in the dash, as though something is trying to turn. Anyone else have this issue?.

There are more problems with the car. There have been nothing but problems with this car since I bought it when it was brand new. It's only 4 years old. It leaks oil now too! I feel very unsafe driving this car with my children in it. There have been 9 recalls and now I see there are 2 that I haven't had done. This should be a lemon. This car is unsafe and I am still paying on this car. A car that has nothing but steering, electrical, air bag, engine and other numerous problems. I should be able to give this car back and walk away from it. This car is not safe! no one should be driving it! I had my oil changed and the next day it said I needed my oil changed. The driver window screeches, the steering wheel locks up, the car lags when I go to break. When I try to accelerate the car stalls and revs super high. The engine smells as if it were on fire. It's not safe. I'm very upset. I have 3 little children. I need my car to be safe and reliable. This car is neither. There has been nothing but problems since I got this car. But I'd have it fixed and then something else would happen. Now more is happening. Things I thought had been fixed even! please this car is a lemon. It needs to be destroyed so no one is able to drive it again.

Car shuts off in the middle of driving. Power steering and breaks go out. Very dangerous, without any warning the car just turns off. It has happened at all different speeds and while turning. I was driving the car on the freeway with my kids and car suddenly shut off.

The vehicle was towed to arrigo Dodge Chrysler Jeep ram located 6500 okeechobee, west palm beach, FL however the diagnostic had not yet been determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however no further assistance was offered and the contact was referred to the NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 45,000. Kh.

�takata recall� I've contacted sacramento Chrysler , Jeep Dodge , ram store with updates to the appointment date and time. I get incompetent phone receptionist that transfer to a supposed person to take my information down. Yet I don't receive any calls. I drove down there and they tell me I have to call as they are pre booked all week. I go to the customer service desk and ask for a manager and get told which one do you want? I said a general manager . She replies we'll go sit over there it's gonna be a while. The treatment as if they don't need anyone's service . I would pay for the repairs and have them reimbursed at this point it's looking like I have a lemon!.

As I will be driving the gps screen and radio will just shut off. It will reset itself and continue to do this as I drive. Sometimes it will do this when I brake, but it will also just do this when I am driving. It has been happening for as long as I have been driving this car. Also the a/c will turn on by itself and continue to turn itself on as I drive.

These cars have massive oil leaks from bad seals on the oil cooler and filter housing assembly. This can cause your engine failure or a fire.

Bought car January 23 ,2018. On February 28, 2018 went to store and came out and tried to get in vehicle, however the locks would not open. I got the key out and opened the door. There was no power whatsoever to the vehicle. Called aaa for a jump. They tested battery and said it was fine, tried to jump it, but would not start. Had to get towed to dealership. They have had the car and have not been able to figure out what is wrong so far (as of 3/2/18). The vehicle was parked when this situation occurred.

The contact was depressing the brake pedal to the floorboard to bring the vehicle to a stop and was able to coast to the side of the road. The abs warning light illuminated. The contact was able to drive the vehicle to her residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or an independent mechanic for a diagnostic testing of the failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 74,000. Aw.

Vehicle was in motion and suddenly just shuts off without power to any of the hazard lights. It can get a lot of people killed with such a safety glitch. Does it, then turns back on maybe after 10 to 40 mins of being off.

My wife was driving our kids around town and the vehicle stalled out as they were approaching a stop sign. No check engine light or any other indicators were triggered. The vehicle appeared to still be running and she could not shut the vehicle off immediately. She eventually lost power steering as well. After a few minutes she was able to start the vehicle back up again and it functioned normally as expected and she was able to drive home. We were expecting some sort of light to come on so we could get a troubleshooting code but nothing. I researched online and was alarmed to find out that this problem seems to be somewhat common and there was a recall back in 2011 for 2010 Dodge Journey models that were stalling out. I have not seen evidence of a recall for later models. I am concerned that this could happen on the open road like a highway where the vehicle is going at high rates of speed and stalls out causing my wife to lose control of the vehicle. I plan to take the vehicle to a Dodge dealership but from what I have seen online it seems no obvious resolution has been mentioned. I am very concerned at this point.

Car locking and unlocking on its own, no key detected, the car was stationary, in my yard and at different stores, the car has been looked at several times in the past 2 yrs, unknown,.

The contact owned a 2014 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that the dealer repaired the vehicle per NHTSA campaign number: 15v675000 (electronic stability control and service brakes, hydraulic). After the repair, there was a loss of vehicle stability and no traction while driving on the highway during inclement weather. The contact felt as if the recall remedy failed to provide a solution, which resulted in a crash. While driving approximately 65 mph on the highway, there was a sudden loss of power and the steering wheel seized. The vehicle crashed into a wall and flipped upside down. The driver sustained head, neck, and lower back pains. The front passenger was suspended upside down, restrained in the seat belt, and had to be cut out of the vehicle by a responder. The rear passengers sustained bruising and whiplash from the impact. One of the two rear passengers was medevacked due to the injuries sustained. The curtain air bags deployed after the crash. The front driver and passenger side air bags later deployed with a low level of deflation and a smoke residue filled the vehicle. The vehicle was destroyed and towed. A police report was filed. The insurance company provided no inspection and diagnosis to determine what caused the crash. The manufacturer was not notified of the failures and the crash. The failure mileage was not available.

Helfman Dodge katy freeway houston 713-533-6100 say parts for safety recall "on back order,,,may take a few weeks or months" before they have the parts. Abs notice r61/NHTSA 15v-675. So we are left with a potentially serious problem with dealer unable or unwilling to repair.

I took my vehicle in to the dealership for the recall to update the computer. After having the recall fixed in may 2016, I was turning left from a complete stop at a stop light and the vehicle started missing, it would not accelerate properly, and the engine light started flashing. This was on 6/2/16. The vehicle was running really rough, as though it was going to stall. I came to a complete stop at the next traffic light , the engine light quit flashing & appeared solid. It stopped missing, but there was a definite lack of power and acceleration capability. I got the vehicle back to dealer on 6/3/16. Again unable to recreate incident, so they reran the computer update from the recall, cleared codes & turned check engine light off. On 7/2/16, I was once again sitting completely stopped at a traffic light getting ready to turn left. While idling at stop light check engine light started flashing again & the vehicle started running rough. I was turning into a parking lot for a shopping center. As I attempted to pull into a parking spot the vehicle stalled half in the parking spot. I put the vehicle in park and was able to start it back up and pull the rest of the way in the spot. After being in the store about an hour, we came back out, the vehicle started, but again had a definite lack of power. After driving it less than a mile, it stalled out again while slowing down to come to a stop. We were able to start the vehicle back and get it back home, still with a definitely lack of power, and park it for the holiday weekend. After the holiday, on 7/5/16, I took the vehicle back to the dealership. Once again they can't find anything wrong, have cleared codes, turned off check engine light & advised me to come pick it up. I chatted with Dodge customer service and they claim to be unaware of the issue or any resolution. Transcript attached.

Key fob doesnt always unlock/lock/start with push start, usually its delayed or vehicle will say vehicle is running but the ignition wont kick on start with push start. Will be dropping my daughter off at school and with an open of the door the vehicle signals that the key has left the car. I have replaced the key fob and batteries and continue to have this issue. Biggest concern is not being able to start the vehicle when needed or being locked out. Also, the touch screen and radio dials don't always work on steering wheel.

Ed voyles Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram has failed to remedy the recall of the anti-lock brake system control module for my 2014 Dodge Journey in a reasonable amount of time. After I was initially notified of the recall, I called to schedule a service to address the problem. I was told at this time that the parts required were not in stock and to check back in a few days. Upon calling a second time, I was told that I would be notified when the parts became available. After a month of waiting and no notification, I called for a third time and was told parts were still not in stock and that I would now be placed on a waiting list. Ed voyles failed to offer a timeline for resolution nor simply tell me my place on the wait list, stating that it was not numbered.

I have taken my vehical to the dealership because the air bag sensor keeps turning off and on. When I get there it off. The say they can not replicate the problem. . I am afraid the airbag is going to deploy while I am driving. Next the power that control the radio amd bluetooh will justbstop working while driving. The screen will go black and then power cycle itself as if I just turn the car on. I believe there is a major electrical problem.

During drive the car shuts down, I have taken it to the dealer, and they say nothing is coming up and they only have had it for 3 days, I told the dealership that it shuts down when it wants to.

One of the biggest problem is the back doors not locking when in drive like they use to. My sons door didn't lock like normal (inside door child lock was locked too) but worse of all my car didn't even show that the door was open in the back and I didn't hear him fall out and it open and he fell out while driving, my check engine has been on and my outside temp on car dash reads 185 all the time, it loses power while driving, the radio also turns volume up and down and channels changes by itself. My wipes back and front sometimes go and don't turn off. My right fender is no longer on the car because when I got a flat aaa lifted the car from the under carriage and the fender just came off on one side like bolts weren't even place on there I bought this car for safety for myself and kids and this car is not safe and Dodge won't help and I'm very upside down on it, im a recently divorced mom waiting for disability for my back. I can't afford to trade it with more money down. I paid a down 6500 and pay 400. Per month and never thought I would have to worry that my kid would fall out while child lock was on and when the doors should lock, . Now this new recall with the engine makes me worried to drive my three kids to school or anywhere for that matter.

The entire vehicle lost all power temporarily as we were driving.

The vehicle erupted into flames while sitting in the driveway. The car was off and had not been driven for about 12 hours. The vehicle had been into the dealership several times for the radio, navigation, back up camera shorting out while coming to a stop. The night before the fire the vehicles back up camera shorted out and came back on while reversing out of a parking spot. We were going to take the car into the dealership for this problem on 08-06-2015. The neighbors came and got my wife and children out of the house and called the fire department. I have pictures of the fire and all service records of the vehicle leading up to the fire.

On one occasion, the contact left the keys in the vehicle accidently while an infant was in the vehicle. The vehicle locked independently and failed to unlock. The vehicle doors will often unlock after leaving the vehicle. The doors are locked, the doors are closed and when about 3 feet from the car, sometimes the doors will unlock themselves. This happens intermittently. The key fob is in the drivers pocket, by itself.

Bought this wonderful (not) car to replace my minivan. Within the first month, when I would put my cell phone in the "cave" under the radio, the radio would scan. Did this multiple times and eventually when I opened the doors (a couple of times), the radio actually muted,,,,they checked it out and they replaced the radio, then something else to do with the radio. . . . Butttt, it still does it. Mentioned that while driving through country roads, the read end gets loose. After he asked me 1) do you drive fast through on the country roads and 2) do I live in in the country (both no answers), they "checked it out" and bam. . . . New shocks on the back. Kinda miffed that they questioned my driving ability actually. I told them that the transmission seemed to shift weird. They checked it out and said there was an "upgrade" that could be done, and they did it. Seemed to work for a while, but it is doing it again. Turned the rear wiper on and off (light rain) and it kept going. I did not push the washer option, and know how to work a rear wiper, but when I mentioned that to them, they looked at me like I was an idiot and explained how the washer option works. But of course, they could find nothing wrong with it. With my next oil change, they are checking on the creaking sound that it makes while driving on bumpy roads at slow speeds. . . . They think that it is the bearings in my leaf spring, but sounds like when we had to replace a strut on my van. All in all, I like the room and setup of the inside of the car, but boy. . . . I have never paid so much for a lemon in my life!! and. . . . Guess who didn't buy the extended warranty????? you guessed it.

Friday Feb 27 - 8:00 pm ¿ during drive to/from work: computer message: 1. ¿¿remote start disable� 2. Noticed car will not shift into 6th gear on hwy. Home from work: noticed engine oil on driveway, pull in and check oil ¿ no oil on dip stick, engine oil all over engine and ground. Unknowingly I drove the car for ~150 km with no oil! sat Feb 28 - 1:00 pm ¿ add 3 liters of oil to take car to village Chrysler ¿ ajax service results: 1. Engine light codes: no explanation of codes from village Chrysler ¿ ajax service advisor. A. Code: p06dd ¿ stored ¿ engine oil pressure control circuit stuck off b. B156d-00 ¿ stored ¿ low voltage differential signal (lvds) video cable- 2. No details of my explanation of my sequence of events on service order! 3. Oil adapter housing leaking (cracked ¿ manufacture design issue) 4. Replaced adapter housing: part#: 68105583-aa ¿ c/w associated parts under warranty - known issues with cracking housing. 5. When asked if any engine damage while driving with no oil - village Chrysler ¿ ajax said guaranteed no engine damage because at least one liter on oil was still circulating in engine! bs. 1. Now I¿m concerned this will happen again and possibly cause a fire while driving on the hwy. . . 2. Plausible damage to engine as a result of unknowingly driving all day with no oil in engine! 3. I don¿t feel safe in this car!.
