36 Equipment problem

My complaint is about the dealership that I went to to get my cars recall repaired. A simple question about a recall resulted in the service man telling me there is no recall and the parts in my 2015 are from 1996 and that they can not find a recall. I was told that I would be liable for the cost of any repairs as per the fine print in my warrenty. Tyson motors in joliet IL is so incompitant that they couldn't fix a free recall on my car.

Takata recall: when trying to adjust the climate control to "sync the passengers" and turn off the rear controls, within seconds the computer is turning the vehicle's "sync" off and turning on the rear control. As I was trying to adjust the temperature it will keep turning the controls off of sync and turn the rear controls back on. It happens whether I'm sitting I'm idle or driving, there have been no conditions that affect the way its working.

I tried to start my car and it would not start we tried to push the start button twice and put it in neutral press the brake it wouldn't start we tried pressing the button five times resetting it it wouldn't start we tried disconnecting the battery to reset the computer is still wouldn't start the car was parked. It won't turn over. When looking on the internet several other people have complained about this same issue.

My 16-year-old son was driving our 2015 Dodge Journey to school. He began to hear a noise that sounded as if something was dragging underneath the vehicle. The driver behind him was flashing him to pull over, he began having issues controlling the vehicle fortunately he was able to pull over and as soon as he got to the stop sign the car completely died after making a loud noise and started smoking. My son jumped out of the vehicle and the driver behind him told him to get away from the vehicle as he felt it was about to catch fire by the smell. Once the tow truck driver got there and try to start the vehicle to put it in neutral the car again filled up with a burning smell. He jumped out and had to call dispatch for safety reasons of transporting the vehicle. Once my vehicle arrived at lonestar auto plex in cleburne texas our service man dan was amazing. He kept us informed along the way asked questions and he was provided the service records. Come to find out the engine seized up. The engine, oil pump, starter, all had to be replaced. Chrysler requested the engine so their engineers could look at it. Although everything was covered under warranty, my concern is now that there are others out there driving in the same thing may happen to them if not worse .

My 2015 Dodge Journey wont start. I changed the battery and starter and still nothing. I hear one click when I try to start it but it wont turn over and start. It tells me that my car is not in park but it wont start. Then once it started, it died while I was driving down the street. Whats going on with my truck?.

I have a 2015 Dodge Journey that has had major problems with it. Before the car was even a year old it was taking into the shop for transmission problems. The car completely shut off on me while driving in the middle of a busy intersection while I was turning left. The car would not restart and had to be towed to the dealership. At that point, the service was escalated to a higher department and a high level repair person was brought in. Less than 15,000 miles later, the car began heavily shaking every time it was driven. The find was that there was a missing bolt in the tie rod. The service man said there was no reasonable excuse that could explain how this would even occur. Today, the car is in the shop for the second time in three days. Initially for the batter light coming on while driving. I was told there was a loose wire and some corrosion on the batter but that it was repaired. Less than 24 hours later then light came on again while driving this time with the warning on the panel that read battery saving mode. I immediately returned the car to the shop. Waited all day yesterday only to be given the same explanation that was previously given. Upon further probing I discover the car had never even been re inspected. The car continues to be in the shop has has been undrivable for 4 days now. I have a 6 year old sone who is transported in the vehicle daily. I'm beginning to fear for his safety in the car given its history and will no longer place him in harms way by driving in this car. The unbelievable serious problems that have occurred with this vehicle are alarming. Especially, given the fact that there is no clear explanation as to why the issues are arising. These are not normal wear and tear complications. These are serious manufacturing issues.

Driver side continues to blow hot air while the passenger blows cool air while the a/c is running. Told it was the blend door motor and got it fixed. A few days later, the some problem began again.

Car suddenly turned off while in motion causing wheel and rim damage as well as back number damage. Replaced battery after check engine light came on at which time the vehicle operated fine the previous day and had been sitting overnight(diagnosed by auto zone), replaced on 6-Jul-18. Today 18-Jul-18 absolutely no lights or power to the vehicle. I have tried jumps and car is still inoperable. It gets so hot in here that the interior surfaces are melting and chipping off.

The vehicle will lose power while driving down the road and simultaneously the traction control light activates followed by the car launching forward and the service awd and abs lights activating. The vehicle was taken to a Chrysler garage which duplicated the problem and saw the faults in the computer. However the garage was unable to formulate a solution. They stated they checked all the connections and ran the vehicle approximately 160 miles without any additional occurrences and released the vehicle without any further repair. 4 days later and approximately 150 miles the problem recurred in a parking lot while backing up with the lights activating in the same sequence.

An unknown issue is completely draining the battery. Thus, rendering the truck inoperable. The auto door locks would not work and the vehicle would not start. The first occurrence took place roughly two months ago. The service department at darcars temple hills, MD, tried to convince me that I left my truck running. This time, same exact issue took place.

While driving on busy intersection vehicle just shut off on its own. Steering wheel locked therefore I had no control. Almost crashed into another vehicle and median. Had to wait for it to come to a complete stop on the middle of intersection to be able to restart it.

June 2017: ignition failure, total component replacement; July 2017, September 2017; July 2018: camshaft position sensor failure resulting in engine stall, full electrical system failure and total vehicle shutdown at highway speeds (60+mph) forced to coast vehicle to a stop; beginning July 2017 intermittent and ongoing: unresponsive transmission resulting in delayed or not changing of gears, elevated rpm readings while mph stays stuck (I. E. 4500+ rpms but vehicle will not accelerate past 40mph), extremely deceased average miles per gallon with no significant change to driving habits or miles driven (I. E. Previous average appox 19. 9 mpg, current read 13. 2 with); vehicle out of service 55 days for repairs in the last calendar year.

While my husband was driving home from work on 3/14/17, he stopped to help a fellow officer that was stranded, he got out of the vehicle and was helping the other officer he smelled smoke and looked back and saw that it was our car on fire. The fire occurred in the front drivers side door panel, he was able to drive the vehicle home,after he thought the fire was out. The next day he drove the car to the auto shop,while on the way there the fire restarted,he was able to make it to the body shop. The vehicle sat at the dealer ship for 13 or 14 days before we finally got the okay from Chrysler to fix it. The mecahanical part was fixed, however the sever smell from the smoke,burnt rubber,and plastic was not. We did take the vehicle back,and the dealership did do everything they could to get the smell out, the smell is still there. This is the only vehicle we have. So we have had no choice, but to drive it. My boys both have severe asthma and allergies, so riding in a car with a constant odor of smoke and burnt stuff is extremely unhealthy. My husband has also had a cough from the smoke inhailation that occurred, he is currently coughing stuff up outta his lungs. I have made at least 20-25 phone calls to Chrysler, and have not received one back, we have not even received the report from the fire inspector that they sent. I would really just like to get some answers and know my rights. Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

I am not sure if this warrants a complaint but when I wreaked my vehicle my airbags did not deploy. I was traveling about 50mph on a main road it was night time and had started to rain and I hit a cow that was standing in the middle of the road. There was about $8000 dollars worth of damage to my vehicle. I am just curious as to why airbags didn't deploy. Should they have?.

3 separate incidents, all involving braking while in motion, spread over about 2 months. 1. , took too long to come to a stop while braking at a red light (6 car lengths); 2. , light tap caused car to screech to a stop; 3. Complete failure; no response to repeated pumping; no resistance felt when pressing brake all the way to the floor, nearly flipped into a ditch, caused over $8k damages. The car itself had 23,295 miles on it when all this happened. Dodge "investigator" said nothing's wrong.

On early December 2015, water leak inside my vehicle, I brought the vehicle to kendall Dodge, the back seat containers were fill with water, the carpet was wet as well, kendall Dodge keep the vehicle for a one an a half week, when they call me to advised me that the vehicle was ready when I show up to the dealer to pick up the car the case manager show me the vehicle it was noted that the back seat container were half way with water, I ask the case manager what was done in my vehicle she couldn't answer she apologized and she told me that she will send the car back to the shop, 3 days later they call me again to tell me that the vehicle was ready, when I pick up the car an inspection was done and it was noted that the back container had rust, I ask again, no response, since the beginning of this I been in contact with Chrysler, I had requested mold test or replacement of the carpet, the vehicle smells bad had rust I dont know if it has mold Chrysler keep giving me the run around, this vehicle was new when it was purchase may 26 2015, in addition the transmission keep giving me problems it seems that they are defaulting in the agreement that was made when I purchase and sign for this vehicle, I have two little girls and they spend a lot of time in this vehicle going to school and places and am not sure if this vehicle is safe for them, please help my tel: 305-496-2029.

This is a rental car, therefore not positive if it's a 2015 model. While driving on the expressway, I shifted in my seat and my foot accidentally touched the hood release. The hood opened while driving, although not completely since it has a secondary hood latch release. The hood was bouncing until I could safely pull over at the next exit.

The vehicle was taken to a dealer to be repaired but they said it was a characteristic of the vehicle and could not be repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. Was driving outt of state in a 5 month old vehicle. We then stopped at a food place for about 25 minutes. When I tried to start the car, brake pedal was hard and would not give way, dash lights lit up run light as well but vehicle did not start. On several occassions the same thing happened with no results. After 5 attempts, the vehicle finally started and the check engine light lit up. Light stayed on for 4 days and then went off. Contacted dealership, after inspection determined crankshaft sensor message was recorded. Part was ordered and replaced. Hope this fixes the problem. Have seen all older models have similar issues. Hope Dodge addresses ant exsisting issues on new models.
