Front blowers blow hot air when a/c is turned on, defrost won’t work in winter, the backup camera keeps going black and glitching when in reverse, my abs, traction control, and awd service keeps coming on, I have changed both front wheel sensors, wheel-barrings, brakes, and all new tires. It helped for a month no lights on and it drove amazing no issues and one day it started again and when I try to accelerate you can feel it not want to go, I hear a grind noise and then the car will jump super hard then the awd service will kick on and traction control turns off and it will drive fine again. I have 3 kids and do not feel safe anymore driving my car! im shocked there isn’t a recall on any of these issues considering there have and still are a lot of complaints on the same issues I’m having. Also cruise control won’t work. I seen it was recalled but previous owner had taken it in and got it replaced but it definitely is bad again. I know these issues can not be good on my car’s transmission or engine! please help me! I’ve filed a complaint before and heard from no one.
Pulling to go up bridge or highway. Tracking lights check engine light abs light comes off and on. Braking is hard.
Driving down the road my Jeep started whining. The more the pressed the gas the more it wouldn't go into gear. I stopped and tried going again and it wouldn't go just the rpm's was going up and no movement.
When driving, at any speed or upon acceleration, the engine suddenly loses power and goes to 1500rpm(approx. ) with a traction control light and battery charging light ( car swerving light and red lightning bolt light) illuminated. At highway speeds this is very hazardous, on the street its very frustrating. When vehicle is brought to a stop and completely shutdown, thereby resetting the ecm, the vehicle starts normally and drives normally( sometimes!) on other occasions after being put into gear and proceeding the same thing occurs and engine will not rev over 1500-1800 rpms and so long as you are not going up a hill will shift normally to get to about 40 mph tops, on a hill however speed will drop to about 15-20 depending on the hill I guess. This happened on 8-15-20 and car reset and drove normally after that with no issues but the following morning as I left home for work it occurred 2 blocks away from home and after resetting car via shutting it down several times the issue would not "self cure". Hopefully, as this is Sunday at 5 am when the mechanic troubleshoots it displays the same behavior and I will update this post.
The engine on my car was stalling and it died in the middle of a busy road. Thankfully, it happened in the turning lane so I didn't get hit. Thought it was the battery, so we bought and new one and had it replaced. The check engine light came on after the battery was replaced and the car engine would just turn and stall and would not start. Had to tow my car to the dealership. I called and there were no recalls listed for my VIN, but I saw a Chrysler recall s89 that was for 2016 Dodge Journeys for engine stalling and would need the camshaft or crankshaft sensor replaced. It affects 2016 Dodge Journeys manufactured may 9, 2016 to July 15, 2016. My 2016 Dodge Journey was manufactured on July 11, 2016. Had diagnostics ran (at my expense) and the crank sensor needs to be replaced. Chrysler was contacted and is giving me the runaround to fixing the issue all because the recall is not on my VIN.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated while driving, the vehicle independently shifted from drive to neutral. Additionally, the vehicle also failed to shift into reverse. The check engine and fuel warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle was taken to westgate Chrysler Dodge ram located at (6421 old westgate rd, raleigh, nc 27617, (919) 263-3062) but was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 105,000.
I was driving and my car suddenly wouldnt shift gears. Recently before that my car was in a body shop getting repaired due to a fender bender a couple months before. But I had no warning or no warning light come on til the car would no longer drive. Right before it stop driving it did rev high and then just stop driving never had any problems beofee this.
I brought my vehicle to a mechanic today and found that the problem I am having with the transmission losing power is identical to recall s44. When I step on the gas I often initially lose power. It isn't coming up as my VIN being included in the recall, but I believe it should be. I spoke with Chrysler recall and they opened case# 75725905 and I have an appointment set up for next Monday at 10:30 at koons dealer in virginia to have it looked at. Thank you.
I was riding down a busy highway and doing 55mph my car started to stall and just cut off, I couldn't get over to the slow lane alot of traffic. It cutoff and I had to get out the car and wave other cars off so they wouldnt hit me. As I got to a safe area from help of another driver the check engine light was on. I cut the car off and called my husband and he said after 10 to try and start it back up and it did it crunk back up and I drove slowly home with hazard lights on and when I got home and cut the car off I let it sit for 10 minutes again and when I turned it back on the check engine light was off. This was scary for me and when I researched this problem it shows it's a recall for a crankshaft position sensor but my car is not in the recall and I cant understand why not this could have cause me and my family to have died because of this Dodge need to include all Dodge Journeys as I see alot of people are having this issue my mileage is 68000.
Transmission had gone out at 102,368 miles. First service on the transmission is at 120,000 miles. Paid for the transmission out of pocket. It went out again 2 weeks later. Put in a 3rd transmission and it lasted several months and went out again. This will be the 4th transmission. There was a recall but I didn’t fall in the parameters but it’s the same issues as the recall, same year make and model. There no reason why it should be a recall. That’s 3 replacement transmission in under a year. All transmission were bought from victorville motors. A Dodge Chrysler car dealer.
My wife was driving the vehicle out of the driveway to take the children to school. The car was not accelerating properly, the transmission felt like it was slipping, and the engine felt like it was going to die. Engine light illuminated. My wife shut the car off. She turned it back on and attempted to reverse to the curb, but the car began moving forward while in reverse. There was no prior warning, and the vehicle was operating just fine the previous day. We towed the car to a local mechanic on 09/17/2019 who stated that the power train transmission has completely failed, and we need to completely replace the entire transmission. The vehicle only has 64k miles. We have owned the car for just 2 years with no prior private owners. We have an appointment on 09/19/2019 with paulding chyrsler Jeep Dodge located in dallas, GA for a second opinion. I have learned that there is a recall for power train transmissions on 2016 Dodge Journey. Given the average life expectancy of an automatic transmission and our vehicle's specifications, it seems evident that this issue corresponds with the manufacturer's recall.
Tl- the contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. The contact stated that when the vehicle was turned on. The vehicle hesitated and sounded like it would shut down, there was no warning. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and contacted the darcars Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram of new carrollton dealer (301-459-6800, located at 8100 annapolis rd, new carrollton, MD 20784) and scheduled an appointment for the contact for September 26, 2019. Transmission recall.
Transmission switches to neutral position while driving creating a danger while driving in traffic.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. While driving 20 mph with the accelerator pedal depressed, the vehicle failed to accelerate or move forward. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. An independent mechanic diagnosed that the transmission fluid pressure pump and gear 2 needed to be replaced. Premier Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram of troy (located at 113 us-231, troy, al 36081, (334) 403-4646) provided the same diagnosis. Upon research, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA campaign number: 16v461000 (power train). The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified. The failure mileage was 85,000.
Power distribution center went out in vehicle and repaired for the second time. I dont trust the vehicle. Stalled on the highway, with children in the car. This was very scary and dangerous. This vehicle had a recall that triggered alot of issues with the truck, to be quiet honest when it gets fixed I don't feel safe driving the vehicle.
Vehicle stalls randomly. Mostly at low speeds or slowing down.
My car has been making a weird noise and they always say they dot hear it. The electrical components go on and off, lights , air conditioner, fan, ,vent, radio etc. I am nervous about driving.
I have a 2016 Dodge Journey about a month ago ran over a large rain puddle while turning in to get some gas. Filled up and as I'm driving off abs, brake, and the swerving car signal kept coming on. My fuel gauge reader went all the way down to empty and the speedometer would go up and down random times while driving. Couple days later we had took it in to get checked out was told my fuel sensor went out and needed to get a new fuel pump because the sensor was inside of it. Had it fixed after waiting two days from our car guy drove it off the repair shop and not even hours later the same issue. Was told I had warranty on fuel pump purchased from dealership and they would replace it again. I took it to dealership and was told needed a new fuel pump and they were going to charge me 135 per error code and then would tell me what additionally needed to be fixed and that I would have to leave the car for up to a week. The car was just purchased in Aug 2018 and it has under 54k miles on it. While driving the car at any given time all the lights continue to come on. The car stopped on me in the middle of the highway. It gave out on me in the center highway and I had to wait for emergency serveces to assist me it took 2 hours and this was at 7 am in the morning on 610/10 freeway in houston, TX the car has given out on me twice now and ive replaced the battery twice. Whatever is the issue continues to kill the battery power and I can't find any mechanic including the dealership to fix what the problem is, but they want to charge me for randomn work that does nothing to fix the issue.
I have a problem with the transmission switch some time I feel like something hit my car from the bottom (this is a very tight switch). This is a family car we drive very safety. I hope this is the warranty issue.

I was driving the vehicle and it just loss power. Luckily there were no cars behind me. The car will turn on but won't drive. Had it towed to shop and found out transmission was gone. I just purchased vehicle in oct 2016, how can transmission be gone. Warranty just expired 3000 ago. And dealership purchased from didn't want it offer any assistance with this. I have researched there have been 3 recalls (s44) already for same issue but no one notified me about this earlier.
Vehicle downshifts hard in slow traffic. Vehicle then proceeds to turn off but engine will not stop until you put foot on brake put vehicle in park and push engine button. The dealership resets code and runs good for about 200 to 400 miles and happens again. Been back to dealership three times. The transmission shifts jerky between 30 to 37 mph and then engine light comes on and vehilce stops.
Tl the contact owns a 2016 Dodge Journey. While driving on an incline at 25 mph, the vehicle lost power and rolled back into a ditch. There were no injuries. Wife was backing out of driveway and engine stopped / stalled as she entered the road and started to turn while backing. Radio and electrical systems were working. Had to push starter button to off so I could start it again. Attempting to start it already in the run position failed with an error I don't remember and did not write it down at the time as she woke me up to tell me what happened and I went out to driveway and check. Unknown reason why and have not contacted dealer yet. Reporting this here as it may seem to be a trend after doing a google search. Has not happened before with this vehicle.
The air conditioning turns on by it self. We've tried many different things and it still just turns on by itself.
While driving the car, the transmission jerks and it seems that the computer telling the transmission when to shift gears is slow and not properly functioning. It's happening frequently, especially when slowing down, coming to a complete stop or starting to drive from a complete stop. Also putting into park and then taking out of part, there's a bit of resistance, loud bang and hard shift.
I was turning into a parking spot outside of my work and the car revved and jerked forward; I had to swerve to miss and pillar and slam on my brakes because it jumped over a curb and almost hit a building! the parking spot was a little upward so I did have to have my foot on the gas.
My vehicle randomly shuts off. Loses all engine power, power steering, etc. Has been at the dealer 3 different times and no one can find the problem. Once we were stopped at a light, 2 times we were pulling out of parking spots, and this last time my vehicle was in motion on the street and the engine shut off.

This vehicle was sold to me by central florida Chrysler Jeep Dodge, 8675 commodity circle, orlando, FL 32819 with an open recall. I purchased and drove this vehicle home on 8/20/2016. This car was a new vehicle and should not have been sold with an existing recall. When I called to explain the car had a recall, they were very rude and told me the recall was new and the part to correct it did not exist at that time.
The transmission doesn't downshift correctly.
