1 Brake Fluid Leak problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2020

To whom it may concern, I left my home and was heading to work when someone ran a stop sign. I had to slam on my brakes to avoid being t-boned. The brakes worked at first, then the peddle pulsed and went to the floor board. I pulled over and looked for brake fluid leaking under the vehicle. After not seeing any, I tried pumping the brakes and the peddle kind of started working again, but if you keep pressure on the peddle, it will go to the floor board. When you drive it, the brakes barley respond for the first 1. 5" to 2" of movement, then most of the braking is in the next 1" to 1. 5" of movement. As you sit at a stop applying pressure. The peddle will go the floor board. You can pump it up to firm, with the vehicle in the off position, but after you start it, the peddle becomes soft and as stated before, goes to the floor board. 2 different dealerships have said this is normal, the brakes did not do this before having to slam on them. It does not feel safe to drive. After doing some research, it seems that the 2018 Dodge Journey is already being recalled for a similar problem. Thank you for time.
