While cleaning my vehicle in my drive way I noticed a compartment under my steering wheel showing. I then took it too a Dodge dealership for a recall that I received in the mail and I also asked about the cloth like material showing under my steering wheel. The young man notified me that it was the airbag coming out from under the steering wheel as well as a sensor/electrical problem. I am a new mom to be and having a newborn in this vehicle is unexceptionable. This vehicle is only a few years old with so many recalls. Im so disappointed.

6 weeks ago the airbag sensor light appeared in my car. I called the local dealership (lafontaine in lansing, mi) and they took a look at it. They discovered the wiring between the sensor and the airbag had corroded. In September 26, 2017, our car's heater core exploded on us after being installed improperly earlier in 2017 by wysup Chrysler in pullman, washington. It poured boiling hot water and antifreeze on my husband while he was driving the car. We believe that this was the cause of the corroded wiring, but Dodge refuses to fix it. We have been without a car for over a month now as we sit and wait to see if Dodge corporate, the bbb, or the attorney general's office of washington state will help us. The cost to fix our airbag sensor is $1500.

Car will not start at times, have to let sit for about an hour before it will start. Have been having issue for months. Changed battery but that has not helped. I have power to the car but the engine will not turn over. Sensor in steering wheel for airbag is also loose, light comes on and off.
I have taken my vehical to the dealership because the air bag sensor keeps turning off and on. When I get there it off. The say they can not replicate the problem. . I am afraid the airbag is going to deploy while I am driving. Next the power that control the radio amd bluetooh will justbstop working while driving. The screen will go black and then power cycle itself as if I just turn the car on. I believe there is a major electrical problem.
I own a 2014 Dodge Journey. . . Only had it 6 months! I hit a deer (about 200 lbs/ husband said it would be a 10-12 point if it had antlers this time of year). I was running about 53-57 mph, out the corner of my eye I saw the deer about to run out, grabbed the wheel with both hands and just held on. There was no time to do anything else, the roads were wet so I didn't hit the brakes hard (didn't want them to lock-up) but I did stay on them. Thankfully the deer was coming to the ground (already jumped) when I hit him, because if not he probably would have ended up in our windshield. I hit the deer square. . . His body caved the radiator in among other things! the airbags never came out! I understand sensors in cars and all that but regardless if you hit "someone or something" as hard as I hit that deer. . . The airbags should have certainly deployed. I am thankful and grateful that it was a deer and not a tree! wish I knew how to get these complaints straight to the Dodge dealership! makes me very uneasy about my car now. Obviously, the car is not fixed yet, still sitting in my yard waiting for the adjuster to come out. Not too sure we are going to keep it once it gets fixed. I have children (twin 5 years old daughters) do not want them in an unsafe car!.
