1 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 01/29/2025

Vehicle engine codes were all corrected properly in hopes of fixing the stalling issues. The vehicle was seemingly better for a few days. Upon driving the vehicle on the highway at normal highway speed, the vehicle suddenly began flickering and shutting off and on. The vehicle would shut off and on rapidly. Each time the vehicle turned back on it would accelerate causing the vehicle to jolt forward and stop rapidly. The car would not allow me to brake safely. The vehicle behind was within inches of a collision but their quick response to slam on their brakes and swerved to the shoulder thankfully missed. This is not an isolated event. Speaking to other hemi 5. 7 vehicle owners this is a very common issue. I had a baby in a carseat in the backseat who was jolted around slamming the back of his head into his car seat. This is so dangerously unsafe. Not dealership can find the problem even after replacing every part possible on these vehicles.

4 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 03/15/2016

Case description I had a recalls on my 2008 Dodge Magnum for airbags, and ignition. Had it towed to comminwealth Dodge cause it stopped running while driving. They replaced the ignition, and supposedly replaced airbags also. The ignition allowed the car to then restart. However when I went to pick the car up it ran really badly, and had all the warning lights in the dash on. I confronted the dealership about this before even leaving the lot. They told me I would have to pay to have it looked at. I towed it to a different dealership where they found the main wiring harness pulled apart under the dash. After I picked the car up from them I've had the worst electrical problems imaginable. I've been stranded in ellensburg wa for 3 months, the battery died every 3-4 weeks. Fca will not even return any of my calls, and the dealership just tried to sell me a new car when I contact them. Please help.

7 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 04/30/2015

I was taking my family (wife, 18 month old, 2 yr old, and 4 yr old) to get some ice cream after a home depot trip. As I turned left across a busy street the stereo suddenly blinked out, and the engine died, along with power steering, brakes, and every electrical function. It simply blinked like all power was lost for a moment, and was enough to kill the engine, and loose all power assist functions of the vehicle. Thankfully I had momentum and was able to coast into the side street with out being t-boned by on coming traffic. I was sent recall p57/NHTSA 14v-567 in the mail in November 2014, but there was and still is no remedy for this recall which appears to be directly linked to my incident. How many fatal accidents are going to occur between now and the fix for the known issue? Dodge can build a brand new [xxx] between November and today, but they cannot manufacture a $. 50 part. Did they not learn from chevy? information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

8 Service Brakes problem of the 2008 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 01/28/2015

This is a police package 2008 Dodge Magnum. We have a fleet of them. All have the same issue. While operating the vehicle the officers experience a system shut down. The systems include but are not limited to all dash warning indicators come on suddenly, the alarm system indicator illuminates and begins to flash every second, gauges go to zero, the transmission down shift to 1st gear, power reduction kicks in, if the officer place the vehicle in park it will not come out of park, it becomes locked. Also the if the officer shuts the vehicle off it will not start and the security system warning light blinks every second. Only after pulling fuse 11 turning the key on and then off reinstalling the fuse will the car start. And maybe go into gear. The last time this has happened 3 weeks ago the officer had a perp in the back seat and the car stalled out on him. He got out of the car to open the hood and his keys were left inside. The locked itself down, and the doors locked automatically. The person in back became trapped for an hour until I was able to by pass the locks with a spare key. The local dealer has charged us an exorbitant amount of money to change several modules, recalibrate, and test for the failure. Nothing has been circumvented to prevent this from happening. Our police department has parked these vehicle due to this safety issue. The question remains, is there something wrong with the can bus system? or will a simple key switch fix the issue? if so why not install a later model key switch that performs correctly?.

10 Service Brakes problem of the 2005 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 12/05/2014

Just after filling up at the gas station I started the vehicle put it in drive and started to proceed making it about 10 feet when the car stalled causing me to loose my power brakes and steering. I put the vehicle in park and restarted the vehicle. Again I put the car in drive and started to proceed onto the road when my vehicle stalled again causing me to lose my power steering and cross over the yellow line into oncoming traffic. . . . , luckily the car approaching me swerved to miss my vehicle which would have hit him head on. I then proceeded to the expressway thinking that maybe my injectors or something got clogged during the fill up so I thought that maybe if I were to get the vehicle going faster making more fuel go thru the fuel system and injectors that maybe whatever it was would unclog it. , this was definitely a bad idea now even though the vehicle did accelerate up to 65 mpg it then decided to stall again causing me to loose my power brakes and power steering at a high rate of speed. I was able to get the vehicle to the side berm and restart it luckily not causing any accidents and nursed the vehicle home having it stall 6 more times. I got home and googled my problem to find that similar Dodge and Chrysler vehicles with the same years and motors and fuel system were having the same problems. These cars were the 2006 chargers and also the Chrysler 300. It seems that there already seems to be an open case (# pe13-016) for this same problem. I called the Dodge customer service and they said there is nothing they can do for my vehicle. I don't understand. . . , this is the same engine and fuel system as the other cars that were mentioned in the other case and I'm experiencing the same life threatening problems as those other vehicles in question. Dodge knows there's a problem with the Magnum r/t but is doing nothing to fix it. It's a shame.

12 Service Brakes problem of the 2005 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 06/03/2014

About 2 months after the purchase of the 2005 Dodge Magnum, the seatbelt light came on. We took the vehicle to the Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler dealership in carthage, ms where the clock spring was replaced. About 10 miles traveling after leaving the dealership, the seatbelt light came back on and the incessant dinging finally quit. We had the clock spring replace again after about two weeks as we were traveling. We took our vehicle in for the airbag recall and have had the airbags replaced under recall and now have another recall on the airbags. The seatbelt light has been brought to our attention, but we cannot afford to have this replaced at our expense again. We have had it corrected one time at our expense, but cannot do this again. I feel it is incumbent upon dailmer Chrysler to recall these vehicles and have this problem repaired at their expense as the everyday customer cannot continue to afford to pay for a problem that should have had a recall issued years ago. The same problem continues to this day with newer vehicles than ours. I was involved in a rear-end collision about three years ago at which time our body shop replaced the clock spring again and it has come on again. I had my brakes to the floor, the airbags did not inflate, and I rear-ended at about 25 miles per hour. This is a serious problem and NHTSA should recall these vehicles immediately.

13 Service Brakes problem of the 2005 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

Vehicle Dodge Magnum r/t 5. 7l 2005 engine stalls unexpectedly when moving slow speed/low rpm, loses power steering and brakes. Does happen occasionally may go months without an incident. Vehicle start normally right after. Extremely dangerous especially when making left turn over oncoming traffic lanes and crossing lanes. Had two incidents yesterday as described. This issue need to be investigated and recalled for complete repair. Called Chrysler customer service who were unwilling to assist with an issue but admit warranty extension to the fuel tank's multifunction control valve fuel shutoff float in the 19-gallon tanks. I found NHTSA comment in its summary of the closed investigation. "the condition represents a low risk to motor vehicle safety and is adequately addressed by Chrysler's extended warranty. " I disagree with NHTSA comments whether this is "low risk to motor vehicle safety". Try to be stalled on the lane when 20 ton dump truck is approaching 50-60 miles per hour.

14 Service Brakes problem of the 2006 Dodge Magnum

Failure Date: 04/01/2012

I was driving when the vehicle failed to accelerate over 55 mph (sometimes it would not go over 35 mph). The failure resolved temporarily when the vehicle was restarted. When this does occur the electronic throttle position and traction control light both come on and the car revs up loudly until it is shut off. It is dangerous when you are going 65-70 mph on the highway and the car drops down to 35 mph. Now that the weather is colder it happens more often including as soon as you start the car. There also is a lot of shaking while on the highway or while braking. I took the car to a Dodge dealer and they said the suspension is extremely loose, which again is dangerous because the wheel could just fall off. I also have the problem that I cannot get the gear out of park at any point. I did find the recall and called Chrysler, but they say my VIN is not part of the recall (why not? it is the same problem). They notated it, but have not done anything to help me. I have to keep my car in neutral and put the emergency brake on anytime I park. There have been several occasions I cannot park in spots because even with the brake on the car still rolls. I have read several other complaints on here and see these are all common problems and may all have recalls and I feel my car should be included in those.
