I have had problems with what I believe is the electrical and I am afraid of it causing a fire. I have had dash lights come on for the breaks only to have the Chrysler dealer tell me nothing is wrong. Then when the turn signal is turned on the dome light was flashing. Then 4 dash lights come on and it has something to do with the break system brought to mechanic he done an analysis said I needed a part. A week later the lights are out so I went back and this time was told as long as the lights are out there is nothing wrong. I am not a mechanic or scientist but I don't think iti takes a rocket scientist to know something is not right with the electrical. The locks lock and unlock by themselves and this zaps my battery. I have a brand new battery which is dead today. I have called Chrysler and they said I have to have another analysis done???? this is crazy!.
Used the key fob to lock the car, walked out about 10 minutes later to find the cooling fan running on the car even though the car had not moved. Unlocked the car the fan stopped running but he battery was dead. Charged the battery and all was fine till trying to leave for work on Monday morning when battery was dead again after using the key fob to lock the car. No longer using the key fob untill we can find out what is going on.

Using my keyless entry fob, I unlocked my door and tried to start my vehicle. The vehicle would not start, but the dash lights came on so I knew the battery was not dead. I thought the battery on the key fob might be going out, so I went to purchase another key fob battery. With the new battery in the key fob, I tried to unlock my vehicle and it would not open. I used the key to manually unlock the car door, and the alarm went off. I tried to deactivate the alarm with the key fob and by inserting the key in the ignition and tried to start the vehicle. The vehicle would not start, and the alarm would not deactivate. I thought the key fob was bad, so I got my extra key fob and tried it. With the extra key fob, I still incurred the same problem -- could not start my vehicle. I had to use Dodge roadside assistance to have my vehicle towed to the dealership. The next morning, the service manager at the dealership said he experienced the same problem with the key fob and was unable to start the vehicle. He remedied the problem by pulling the fuse. After he re-inserted the fuse, he was able to use the key fob and start the vehicle. In checking the diagnostics, no errors were reported. I am very worried that this is going to happen again, and I am not going to be able to start my vehicle.

My 2008 Dodge Nitro 4. 0 loses electrical power. As I searched the internet to troubleshoot this problem, I discovered there are quite a few Dodge Nitro drivers who are having the same electrical problem. According to blogs and self help sites many people are being sent away from dealerships without assurances because the condition cannot be replicated. You see, after the power goes out inexplicably it will come back on. People have been stalled at intersections with others losing all power while driving on the highway. I personally have had several outages. I have replaced the battery under the assumption the battery was defective on this two year old car. I have not lost power while driving but I have lost all electrical power while moving from a parked position. As well, on several occasions I have entered my car to find that the clock needs to be reset as though the battery had died. I would say I have had five incidents of power loss since I bought my car approximately two years ago.
