One problem related to steering gear box sector shaft has been reported for the 1999 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While turning about 20 mph onto a side street the steering box failed and the section shaft sheered off. There was no steering and the vehicle crashed into a steel post.
