general problems of the 2000 Dodge Ram 1500

Three problems related to vehicle speed control have been reported for the 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 03/10/2015

Vehicle starts to hesitate in the middle of a left turn almost shutting off does it cold or warmed up. Takes a long time to get into gear at a stop light or sign and also when it is in park and put into drive.

2 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 09/27/2008

The contact owns a 2000 Dodge Ram 1500. While driving approximately 45 mph, the contact depressed the brake pedal and the vehicle accelerated without assistance. The contact manually shifted into neutral and noticed a reduction in braking power. The engine revved and the vehicle rolled to a complete stop. There were no warning lights illuminated on the instrument panel. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were 49,000.

3 Vehicle Speed Control problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2002

While traveling on highway and without prior warning vehicle took off with high speed. This incident has happened more than once. Dealership is aware of problem.
