One problem related to ignition module has been reported for the 2004 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Sudden loss of power steering and power brakes due to engine stalling. Engine stalls while driving. Event has occurred six times now. Once right after I purchased the vehicle and then again at 7642, 9861, 11487, 11898 and 12,009 miles. I lost control of the vehicle during one event as the power loss occurred while I was turning a sharp corner. I went into the other lane of traffic but due to light traffic at the time this did not result in a crash. The local dealer says that they are aware of this problem but the factory hasn't provided a solution. I feel that it is only a matter of time before people are injured by this defect as the sudden loss of power steering can easily cause loss of control.
