I have a 2005 Dodge slt ram two wheel drive truck. 73,000 miles. I was traveling on a highway merging with another when the rearend cut loose. There is recall but the manufactrer declines to repair it because it doesnt have the fix. They want me to pay ro repair it and submit receipts. If I am paying to repair with same faulty parts my expenses could grow out of sight. I was very lucky an accident didnt occur. They say parts made before Aug 3/2005 are affected. I dont understand why parts made afyer 8/3/05 cannot be used. Also why should I pay anything. Im a working guy without that kind of disposable income. I was also told I wouldnt be reimbursed until the fix was available. Cannot get it in writing that I would be compensated in full. Please advise. I font have the VIN #. My truck is at dave dennis Dodge dayton ohio. I have read of this problem was known about some time ago.
I have a 2005 Dodge Ram 1500,4x4,I have had this for 5 years and the whole back of the wheel well is rotted out, really really bad. As I drive around I see all theses same year Dodges have the same problem I have noticed underneath the wheel well there is holes they never filled in when truck was built that's where the rust and corrosion builds up from the salt ,water, and snow,,very unhappy with this situation. Was hoping there can be something done about this problem now I have to fix this.
Over the last few years, I have experienced problems with my 2005 Dodge ram truck. Occasionally when slowing down to a stop light or making a left turn from a stop, the engine will cut off. I immediately turn the ignition off and then back on, and the trucks works perfectly after that. I first attributed it to a stall or bad gas, but now believe it is an ignition switch problem. I have contacted Chrysler regarding this, but they are unwilling to inspect my truck without first charging an exorbitant service fee. I feel this diagnostic fee is very unreasonable, as this defect with the truck is a safety hazard to the drivers around me. I have contacted Chrysler multiples times, and am now escalating this by filing this complaint.
A recall was posted for 2006 and newer Dodge ram for front wheel bearings. My 2005 had both front wheel bearings fail at less than 90,000 miles. Same manufacture of wheel bearings. Secondly, a recall was also given for a failed electrical switch pertaining to ignition switch and heater blower motor. Mine also failed in a cloud of smoke and smell of burning electrical component. I have both failed components, currently and would like to be included in these recalls.
My 2005 Dodge ram has been stalling on the freeway when slowing down in traffic and when comming to stops at intersections. It has been doing this for years. I have had engine lights come on and had mechanics work on it. This problem continues and is very scary. I can not trust to take it on long trips. After googleing on the internet I found that most Dodges have this problem. I will use social media to let my family and friends know that Dodge is not the truck to buy. I can not believe they are not recalling this issue in their trucks some thing needs to be done to correct this issue. Starter will go out if this continues also putting in nutrel will not do the transmission any good,it feels like it is messing up now.
Four times in two years driving the Dodge ram vehicle suddenly died, loosing power steering and breaking. The first time it caused me to run through a stop sign when the vehicle was less than three months old. The second time, I was going slow and straight. The third time I was on a curve and barely maintained control while stopping. The final time in 2007 was on a curve and my vehicle stalled and ran off the road crashing/bumping into a curb. Each time was at speeds less than 30 mph. I was concerned it would occur at higher speeds. I had taken it to the dealer twice and they could not identify a problem. They claimed to have downloaded the black box and reported it did not indicate a stall. After fearing for my daughter that was with me, I immediately traded the vehicle in for a Ford. The dealer's service technicians treated it as though I was imagining the problem. The dealer I traded the vehicle into is both a Dodge and Ford dealer with the same repair staff servicing both lines of vehicles. I reported the problem to the dealer's sales staff when I traded the vehicle in. Did the dealer warn the buyer of the vehicle when they resold it? this dealer is still in business in branson, missouri.
