This has been a issue going on several months . I can be driving down the road on any giving day , road conditions wet or dry . I was driving 57 mph and vehicle in front of me hit the brakes ,causing me to hit mine as of sudden , but instead of stopping the brake pedal shifts toward the gas pedal causing me to brake and hit the gas at the same time. No I didn't wreck but came close as I corrected it very quick. This could have xausd me to run into on coming traffic and seriously caused fatal injuries or death. Thank god it wasn't raining . Vehicle hasn't been inspected because I don't have the money to have it inspected . The brake pedal I checked and you can take your hand and the pedal will go side to side over the gas pedal . There was no warning light or check engine light for this issue.
Owner of j. P. Direct auto sales in florence, ky sold me a vehicle with odometer discrepancies. The owner sold the vehicle at a little over 133,000 miles but the odometer has never rolled over since I drove the truck off the lot. Furthermore, a mechanic performed an engine light reading that indicated an issue tripped around 146,000 miles. The owner is not owning up to the odometer discrepancy and making returning the truck very difficult.
While in motion, when you apply pressure to the brake pedal, the pedal will travel towards the gas pedal. This brake pedal bushing seems to be worn out and causes the brake pedal to slightly slide from left to right (like a pendulum on a clock). The gas and brake pedals are fairly close together and if your foot is off set on the brake pedal, your shoe will catch the gas pedal when pressing down on the brake pedal. This will cause the engine to speed up while you are trying to stop the vehicle. To replace this brake pedal bushing part seems to be not in production any more and therefore no replacement is available according to the service manager at the dealership. - waterford, mi, USA.
Tl the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the abs warning indicator intermittently illuminated. The contact also stated that the rpm gauge remained at zero. The vehicle was taken to autonation Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram katy (21777 katy fwy, katy, TX 77450, (281) 715-6920), but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 26,480.
The vehicle is shuttering under braking and while applying directional inputs. All tire pressures are 35psi and are in good shape without cupping. While braking at speeds above 40mph the vehicle will shudder violently. The steering shudders while applying slight directional control.
I was driving on highway 64 e near williamsburg speed limit on the highway is 70 mph which is the speed limit at which truck turned off on its own. No hard idling, no check engine light came on just turned off on its own. Power steering was lost along with the brakes and could not control the truck. Had to let it go as it until I impacted in a ditch causing the tire to come off the wheel well, damage to the undercarriage and front driver side bumper. The truck is not safe to drive due to it shutting off and now steers to the left. After some research all Dodge rams 2006-2011 have experienced this issue but Dodge has not done anything to rectify the problem. This is highly dangerous as it could of resulted in the loss of life if it wasn't because of the amount of soft mulch that braced my impact. I am in the military serving active duty and have come home deployment after deployment and to have it all end because of a faulty vehicle.
There is a (TSB 02-001-07 rev. A) that calls out a shudder, braking, shimmer. . . Blah blah blah. . . On level ground and certain speeds. My issue is not on level ground, my problem exist on decline of 7% when the brake is applied very slightly the front brakes or front suspension shudders, and shakes so violently that the entire truck and the steering wheel is out of control, if you grab to tight on the steering wheel you may over correct your steering and eventually could cause you to overturn your vehicle. There is no excuse for this, I have had my rotors changed, brakes changed, tires balanced, and rotated but the problem still exists. I am telling you that this is a very dangerous situation for anyone to be in. I would love to take the owner of the Dodge CO. And his family for a ride. I will almost guarantee that something would get done about this issue. Rotors should last for more than 6 months, but the truck is violently out of control and too dangerous for me to allow my wife or other family members to drive this vehicle until it is fixed or I sell it. Once I sell it I will not purchase another Dodge product again, I am tired of wasting my time and money on this issue. I am tired of the dealerships giving me the run around and OH it;s your rotor are quote "warped" un-quote is how it is documented on my paperwork. .
Front brakes have seized up three times in 48,000 miles from purchasing vehicle new.
Premature warping of front brake rotors, causing severe front end shaking when braking at highway speeds almost causing loss of vehicle control. Even after replacing defective or prematurely worn parts, problem recurs in a relatively short time causing additional problems with front end components, such as tie rod ends, and wheel spindles, and bearings.
I bought a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 in 2006. After 27,000 miles the rotors had to be replaced. The truck now has 57,000 miles on it, and I've had to replace the rotors a total of 3 times, and I've had to have the rotors resurfaced once. Each time I have to replace the rotors, the cost is about $260. There is no significant event leading up to the rotors warping. My truck is my general use vehicle. I tow a boat on occasion, which weighs less then 2000 pounds. This truck is rated for far more than that. Last rotor resurfacing took place on 24 Apr 09.
After only about 8,000 miles the brake rotors were so warped they needed replacement. The dealership chose only to turn them down removing rotor material to take out the warp. Obviously, the warping returned at 14,000 miles and the dealership claims the rotors are no longer covered by the warranty and wants to charge me for replacement. The factory rotor is absolute junk. The dealership denies that they are having widespread problems with the defective rotors but the internet indicates otherwise. Please force a recall.
2006 Dodge ram 4x4 quad cab - front rotors replaced at 22,000 miles; rears at 42,000 miles, now at 60,000 miles all four are warped again. Rotors used to be good for 80,000 +; now only go for 20,000, and at $300 each set of 2; is really way too expensive.
Suspension/brakes: front end wheel bearing vibration/rubbing noise. Replaced several sets of worn tires after spending $189. 00 through firestone for lifetime alignments/tire balance/rotations the constant rubbing vibration noise have not alleviated. Brake rotors warped & replaced because of the issue with the pitman arm & front wheel bearings. Chrysler recall campaigns f05, g02, n62, NHTSA campaign 13v528000, 10e040000, 10e013000, 07v038000, 06v038000. Front wheel bearings still noisy, front end vibration still present & alignments constantly necessary. Service bulletins 08-004, 41, & 1900805 related to suspension steering part of this issue. Electrical: ignition key locking up & unable to turn the key to start the vehicle. Had to forcibly turn or “wiggle” the steering wheel, which is locked, in order to get the key to turn. Numerous occasions had to leave the vehicle & return in the future to attempt to turn the ignition key. Turn signal (service bulletin 08-002-12) flashes & intermittent wipers operate incorrectly. Sudden flashing back & forth of signals has almost caused car crashes on numerous occasions. Intermittent wipers stop suddenly at mid windshield point obstructing view. Both operated from the same left handle. Cruise control surges constantly when engaged. Numerous occasions surged suddenly on a hill or bridge almost causing loss of control. Tachometer shows anywhere from 0 to 250 rpm when stopped & has caused stalling of the engine. Operating the vehicle at speed (55mpm for instance), it only shows 1000rpm. During the period of ownership had to replace 3 batteries. This seems excessive for the age of the vehicle. Therefore, considering all the electrical related issues there must be a defect since all of these problems still exist. Service bulletin 5015 related to electrical systems are also parts of this issue.
