Started hearing a low howling noise in my front end when going around curves in the road, it progressively got louder after a couple weeks to a grinding sound, took it to the dealer where I bought it performance Dodge, woodbury, NJ. They stated that both front wheel bearings were bad. I told the service manager that I heard there was a recall on my year model for that very reason, he stated that he never heard of it, I informed him of the reason for the recall, and his answer was that my truck was 6 years old and those things wear out. I said are you crazy the truck has only 38000 miles on it, his answer was it was a good thing I purchased a extened sevice contract. It cost me $107. 00 deductable. I called Chrysler and was told there was no recall on my truck. This was my first Chrysler product and if this is how they stand behind there product, when they were aware that there was a problem at the factory it will be my last. My truck should have been part of that recall, just like many others that were not. I will be trading it in for a Ford next year. Now I know why the govt. Had to bail Chrysler out so many times.
I had to replace the front wheel hub, there is a recall for this on my make and model but not my truck. . . . The recall # is 07v038000, I paid almost $300. For one side and I believe the other side is getting ready to fail.
When it is very hot and the windows have been up, the ignition switch will not turn. The steering wheel will not turn and the key will not rotate from locked position. I have contacted Dodge and they say they have made notes on the issue, but they don't see a problem that they are responsible for. If this was an issue that I would have control of creating - it would be my problem. This is an issue with safety in that if I had an emergency and this happened I would not be able to start my car. Or, have a car-full of groceries and find out the car won't start!!! bad enough I have to wait for the car to cool off when this happens. This is a summertime issue which makes me have to find shade or park where the sun doesn't shine into the front of the car. Problem seems to be a part (probably plastic) that expands when it gets very hot and prevents the key cylinder from rotating. This can't be the only car with this issue as Dodge would elude to . . .

Driving home from the lake and the wheel locked up and went into the ditch after we had it in Chrysler and it was not fixed. They took it in and gave it back and coming home from work the steering wheel locked up again and I almost hit 3 cars. So went back in to get fixed. Then I was out hunting and my kids were with and the steering wheel locked up and we went in the ditch again. So now I just want to get rid of this vehicle. We have had it in 3 times in one month for the same problem and it is not getting fixed.
