1 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2025

Several safety-critical systems on my vehicle are failing, and the symptoms match existing recalls shown on kelley blue book for my VIN. However, the manufacturer (Dodge/stellantis) shows only 4 recalls, all marked completed — despite ongoing issues. 1. Abs / brake system: the abs warning light is on continuously, indicating a malfunction in the abs control module. This disables anti-lock braking, increasing the risk of skidding or loss of control during emergency stops. Kbb shows a recall for this issue, but Dodge says it’s either not open for my VIN or already completed. The abs light has remained on since 2. Front wheel bearing: there is a grinding noise and vibration from the front wheel area, suggesting a worn or failing wheel bearing. This poses a risk of steering loss or wheel detachment. No warning lights have appeared for this issue. 3. Transfer case / 4wd: the 4wd system intermittently fails to engage or disengage, sometimes with clunking noises or jerking. This can cause unpredictable handling or loss of traction. Issue is still ongoing. 4. Electrical system: intermittent electrical issues include random warning messages, dimming lights, and occasional no-starts. These affect essential safety systems and match known electrical recalls. These issues have not been confirmed by a dealer but are ongoing and present serious safety risks. I believe my vehicle may have been incorrectly excluded from applicable recalls or that prior recall work was not properly completed. These components are available for inspection.

2 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/13/2023

I was driving and the rear drive shaft fell out of the truck and the rear locked up making the truck undrivable. I heard this is a common problem in Dodge rams and it is definitely a safety issue and there should be a recall to address this reoccurring problem that can cause a loss of life or life threatening accident.

3 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2022

Truck making a whooping sound when driving and front tires wobbling and front suspension sloppy. Could be hub assembly, ball joints etc which can cause wheel to detach. All recalls for fwd and awd 2006 Dodge Ram 1500 but not for 4wd. My truck has every recall problem listed on the recall list for fwd and awd vehicles why weren't same recalls put out for the 4wdodels? seatbelt won't latch, steering and front suspension a mess and electrical door locks don't work nor car alarm system.

4 Suspension problem

Owner of j. P. Direct auto sales in florence, ky sold me a vehicle with odometer discrepancies. The owner sold the vehicle at a little over 133,000 miles but the odometer has never rolled over since I drove the truck off the lot. Furthermore, a mechanic performed an engine light reading that indicated an issue tripped around 146,000 miles. The owner is not owning up to the odometer discrepancy and making returning the truck very difficult.

9 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/14/2017

At highway speeds, the truck can begin shaking violently and become uncontrollable. It is a widely known issue called "death wobble" I almost wrecked, it would have been a collision if it happened in heavy traffic.

10 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/17/2017

Strange vibration in suspension system when reaching speeds between 50 - 70 mph. I am experiencing rough riding as I excellerate to the above speeds on the highway.

11 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2016

Front end/steering shakes when you hit a bump or the road is rough. All most makes the vehicle uncontrolable.

12 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2016

This violently shaking and bouncing of the front end can be reproduced at any imperfection in the highway at 65+ mph. The entire front end of the truck bounces and shakes violently. The only way to stop the out of control shaking is to slam on the brakes and attempt to get to the shoulder of the road. On numerous occasions the traffic following my truck has been forced to take action to avoid plowing into the back end of my truck. Dodge should be ashamed of the run around and misdiagnosis of this life threatening issue. I will be reposting each occurrence here.

14 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/11/2016

While driving usually above 60 mph after hitting a bump in the road the vehicle shakes violently and becomes uncontrollable. I have to slow down suddenly to approximately 45 mph to get it to stop. This usually happens on the highway.

15 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2015

I was going down a state highway and hit a pothole, when the truck began shaking uncontrollably, I had to slam the brake on to slow down fast because it was shaking so bad. Apparently after further investigation this has happened to the vast population that own older model Dodges, it even has a name "the death wobble". It had happened to my husband before this, and it happened again to me a few days later.

16 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/07/2015

Traveling at speeds approximately 40 mph and above; when apply brakes abruptly; the steering wheel and front end of the vehicle shake, higher the speed, shaking increases.

17 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2015

At just about any speed , if you hit the right bump, the left front shakes out of control have spent $1000's of my own money trying to correct , the death wobble.

18 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 07/13/2015

I was driving on the interstate got the truck up two 65 miles an hour and the front end starts to shake real bad. I had too slow down some to get it to stop shaking as bad. I had the tires rebalanced and that didn't help that made it worse. I want to know how come they haven't recalled all the Dodge 1500 for front end problems. I never got a recall noticed about the air bag recall.

19 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/19/2015

The truck has had intermittent problems with the front end, assembly on right and left side. The truck was repaired by the shop and still not able to perform correctly. Firestone investigated the truck after it was fixed with me taking it back to the shop to get re-fixed. Now after it has been fixed again, the axle area is still popping and I don't know if it is fixed or not. I am tired of spending my money on it. I want to blame the shop but I think it is a manufacturer error. Also, with these front end issues. The front end hit a dip in the road at about 30-35--no dip warning and locked up the front end. I spent nearly $1000 replacing brakes, calipers, and rotors. Not to mention the 300-500 replacing front end parts on this truck.

20 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/24/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact received a notification for recall NHTSA campaign number: 13v528000 (suspension). However, the parts needed were unavailable. The dealer was uncertain when the parts would become available to service the vehicle under the recall and informed the contact that there was a waiting list since the manufacturer was only sending 3 parts every two weeks. The manufacturer was notified of the problem. The contact had not experienced a failure. Pam.

21 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 05/18/2014

I purchased this vehicle from a used car dealer in clanton, alabama in April 2014. I was driving to my mom's, who lives in mississippi when I came upon a bridge on the interstate while passing a 18 wheeler. When entering the bridge there was a small bump up and when the front wheels of the truck hit the bump the front of the truck started bouncing (death bounce or roll) uncontrollable. I had to cut off the 18 wheeler that I was passing and pulled to the side of the interstate and come to a complete stop for it to stop. It happened 4 more times before I got to my destination and it has happened on numerous occasions since and causing me to almost wreck each time. This is a very dangerous problem with this vehicle. You have no control over the steering while it is doing this it just bounces you all over the road. I have talked to a mechanic and he said it was the entire front end of all Dodge trucks that was causing this problem and had to be replaced. I wish to have an investigation on this matter, please. With only 82k miles on this truck the entire frt end should not be bad!! this problem, I was told by the mechanic was a defect from factory and should have been a recall on the entire frt suspension not just the tie rod, because the tie rod is not correcting the death bounce/roll problem with this trucks. I have a young son and a grand baby who has to ride in this vehicle and I do not feel safe driving this truck with my self in it. I will be looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you very much.

22 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/30/2014

I have experienced the Dodge death wobble, a violent shaking, a sudden pulling to the left, then a sudden sharp pulling to the right, with not being able to control by steering, all the while the steering wheel is still violently shaking and with hard braking my vehicle came to a stop with two wheels off of the road in the ditch. I took the pickup in to be checked right away with no real signs of why and decided to replace two of the tie rod ends. The vehicle drove ok for a short time and the death wobble started again, this time not as bad, but very often, like at least 100 times in the last month. As I have spent many hours researching this problem, it seams that 1,000's and 1000's of Dodge 2500 series pickup have this problem which as lead to tie rods breaking . I have not heard of any deaths yet, but does someone have to die before this becomes a safty recall.

23 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/16/2014

At highway speeds of 70 mph, hitting a bump at highway speeds sends the truck into violent almost uncontrollable bouncing with the only way to settle the truck down is to slam on the brakes reducing the speed in highway traffic to 40 mph. The truck bounces violently and tracks into other lanes. No solution from dealer, I have owned this truck since new, well maintained. But repeated front end replacements and repairs, some recalls, some at my expense. This is being epidemic.

24 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2014

When you turn tight you feel and hear vibrations something does not feel right.

25 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 01/01/2014

Tl- the contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph, the front end of the vehicle started to vibrate. The contact had received a notification for recall NHTSA campaign number: 13v528000 (suspension). However, the parts needed were unavailable. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for a diagnosis. The technician stated that there were some components that were loose and that they were uncertain when the parts would become available to service the vehicle under the recall. The manufacturer had not been notified of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000. Pam.

26 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 12/09/2013

The bushings are bad in the truck. Cause shaking while breaking, uneven tread wear on tires, and truck never has a good alignment. Also trying to replace them, the bushings are seized to the bolts. Needing a torch or grinder to remove. Very bad design that needs to be noticed and fixed.

27 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/01/2013

The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Ram 1500. While driving at 55 mph, suddenly the front end of the vehicle began to shake violently. The failure occurred previously while driving approximately 55-60 mph on several occasions. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 104,000.

28 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2013

My Dodge truck is becoming unsafe to drive. I bought new tires, had alingments for my steering done, balance of tires, rotation of tires, new brakes, new shocks, and now I have to take it to the dealer to get a known "concern" taken care of and pay out of my pocket once again. I have spent over $2,500 dollars of my own money trying to fix a known "concern" that Chrysler knows about. Now I have to take it to the dealer and pay $70. 00 just to get it looked at, and then pay for whatever fix Chrysler has to do. Why is this happening and not getting fixed?.

29 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/05/2011

Hi, well I begin as a guy who loves trucks we bought a Dodge ram 06' 1500 mega cab heavy duty, now the mega cabs r 1500's on a 2500 hd chassis. My Dodge ram started doing the death wobble about 1year ago give or take. I have replaced the pitman arm and the tie rods and no difference. I am begging to think this is a factory issue because I hear cases by the dozen on youtube and people do not seem to know what the issue is. My family & I have almost been in numerous accidents luckily god was watching over us. I recently got into a pretty horrible death wobble in my truck,it was so intense that my muffler ripped right off the truck. If Chrysler is saying that is not a recall that we have fix it our selves, well that's crap because obviously it looks like a defective part in my truck. My truck is dangerous to be driving like that and I hope this becomes a recall because its not just me it's a couple hundred, who knows now how many. Thank you for your time.

30 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 04/01/2011

There is a (TSB 02-001-07 rev. A) that calls out a shudder, braking, shimmer. . . Blah blah blah. . . On level ground and certain speeds. My issue is not on level ground, my problem exist on decline of 7% when the brake is applied very slightly the front brakes or front suspension shudders, and shakes so violently that the entire truck and the steering wheel is out of control, if you grab to tight on the steering wheel you may over correct your steering and eventually could cause you to overturn your vehicle. There is no excuse for this, I have had my rotors changed, brakes changed, tires balanced, and rotated but the problem still exists. I am telling you that this is a very dangerous situation for anyone to be in. I would love to take the owner of the Dodge CO. And his family for a ride. I will almost guarantee that something would get done about this issue. Rotors should last for more than 6 months, but the truck is violently out of control and too dangerous for me to allow my wife or other family members to drive this vehicle until it is fixed or I sell it. Once I sell it I will not purchase another Dodge product again, I am tired of wasting my time and money on this issue. I am tired of the dealerships giving me the run around and OH it;s your rotor are quote "warped" un-quote is how it is documented on my paperwork. .

31 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 11/06/2010

Death wobble. We almost died due to the truck violently shaking after hitting a bump in the road. Dodge obviously has a defective and very dangerous set up with what ever is making it do that. The problem is this is well known and the federal government must be protecting them. I say the ceo and the retard who designed it go for a ride with me in heavy traffic with their kids in the back seat. I'm just about out of my mind, I am already on my second rear end, and second radiator. I'm bout ready to drive to Chrysler hq and put the truck through the front window of it. The truck has to come to a complete stop in order for the shaking to stop. When are you bureaucrats going to get off your ass and do something about it. You have known about this for years.

32 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 10/11/2006

The vehicle has a vibration mainly between the speeds of 55 to 60 mph. However I have noticed the vibrations at other speeds as well. The vibration is significant enough to shake the vehicle occupants. The first visit to the service department I was told one wheel was found out of balance and the problem was remedied. On the way home the vibration was still present. I immediately called the service department and brought the vehicle back. The service manager rode with me and indeed acknowledged there was a problem. During this second visit it was determined all 4 tires were not within acceptable limits and replaced. (mind you the tires only had approximately 1600 miles. ) after driving with the new tires for a few days the vibration still persists. I took the vehicle in for a third visit to the service department, however the service manager could not duplicate the problem and I was sent on my way with no attempted remedy. I have been researching the problem, and have found nearly 40 other consumers complaining of the same vibration on their 2006 Dodge rams. They have also not had any success at fixing the problem after as many as five visits to their respective service departments.

33 Suspension problem

Failure Date: 06/13/2006

: the contact stated while driving straight and at more than 40mph the vehicle veered toward the left or right. While attempting to straighten the vehicle it veered toward the opposite direction. The vehicle was taken to multiple dealerships on six different occasions. Although, the vehicle alignment was readjusted four times the problem still continued. The manufacturer was alerted. Ak.
