Five problems related to car stall have been reported for the 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The truck stalls after filling with fuel. It can happen at any time; stalled in a turn causing the loss of power steering; stalled at stops; causes bucking. At no other time does the truck have these issues. I have heard of other having this issue with this model and others such as Jeep, etc. Regarding the "when did this happen?" question below, it happens at 95+% of fill-ups. The last time it happened was 6/1/19.
The truck has developed a habit of randomly stalling when coming to a stop. This is dangerous at intersections and railroad crossings. I have had the truck back to the dealer several times without success.
After filling with gas, truck stalls at high and low speeds. . . . Vehicle dies hence no power steering, brakes etc. . . . . . . Has happened multiple times. . . . . Can throw into neutral and ignition functions. . . . Super dangerous at any speed.
The contact owns a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled while driving 70 mph. The electronic control module warning illuminated as the failure occurred. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence and was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure and current mileage was 122,000.
Truck stalls out for no reason. Tends to happen when slowing down and at lower speeds. Loose power steering and control. I have since changed the throttle body. Truck still stalls.
