Two problems related to check engine light on have been reported for the 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While coasting to a stop light from 45mph, engine shut down loosing power steering, thus 100% control of vehicle. Truck stopped in the intersection blocking 3 lanes of traffic. No check engine light lit up, although did notice rpm fluctuated just prior to episode. Truck started up shortly thereafter, I continued on my way, no clue's on what occurred.
The truck began stalling while shifting from reverse to drive. It is now happening when shifting from drive to park. There are no codes in the computer and the check engine light does not come on. When this happens, I loose power steering. The truck always re-starts right away.
