Six problems related to tank assembly have been reported for the 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 11/13/2013

I own a 2008 Dodge Ram 1500. Fuel spilled from the filler neck when the fuel tank was filled to capacity. The failure was experienced numerous times.

2 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 09/02/2013

When fueling the vehicle approximately 10 seconds gas starts shooting out of the gas tank, all over the ground, all over myself, and all over the vehicle. I have been told that it could be a vent issue in the neck of the fueling path. This is a definite safety issue. There have been multiple complaints about this same situation happening in other Dodge vehicles. Could you please contact me to discuss. In my opinion, this should be covered under a recall defect.

3 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 04/18/2009

Fuel splashing out of filler neck when you fill your tank and the pump kicks off when it is full gas will splash out of the filler neck and down the side of the truck if you stop short and let the gas settle and finish as slow as the pump will pump it is fine.

4 Tank Assembly problem

Failure Date: 01/02/2009

Fuel spills out of tank every time I put gas in. Does not matter which gas station, type of fuel handle, etc. It always spills out before the automatic shut off on the handle kicks in. This causes fuel to spill on the truck and on the ground. Very dangerous!.
