Tl- the contact owns a 2011 Dodge Ram 1500. The contact stated that while driving 50 mph the rear end of the vehicle vibrates extremely hard. The vehicle was not diagnosed of repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was 48,000. Sr.
Operating normally, a grinding noise began and the vehicle was taken to the dealer and diagnosed as a rear differential bearing failure, likely due to the previous recall #NHTSA campaign number: 10v656000 which was done immediately after notification. Significant costs were incurred to repair the differential, axle and bearings. No heavy payloads or towing was done. Maintenance is always done on time and records are available at the dealership. Its seems inconceivable that such a new truck could have a very significant failure.
I have been advised by letter from Chrysler that the rear axle pinion nut on my Dodge Ram 1500 year 2011 has been recalled. I have held this letter with the understanding that a follow up letter of the part that is in question would be sent to my lithia dealership soon. This is not the case in fact I called Chrysler, their response to me is that there will be no parts available in the near future to be shipped to my lithia dealership to fix this problem and that I should use caution while driving my truck. This is unacceptable, and if anything happens while I am driving my truck I will intern sue the Chrysler corporation for not having my part available at my dealership in a reasonable time. The safety of my family is of the upmost importance, and for Chrysler to have a recall on such an important piece of my vehicles operation, and to not come through with the replacement part is completely unacceptable.
I have noticed since purchasing this vehicle that the rear axle traction control seems to constantly slip when accelerating at any speed, I first thought that this was normal for the vehicle, but it is always engaging no matter what speed your doing. It seems as though it is not working properly, no matter what kind of surface your driving on. I've tried it in four wheel drive, and the truck seems to be ok, I don;t think the anti slip axle is working properly.
Turning left onto a street the rear passenger side axel broke off.
