Dodge Ram 1500 owners have reported 49 problems related to electronic stability control (under the electronic stability control category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
My Ram 1500 manufactured 2013 stopped suddenly and refused to start up again with all electrical equipment been working regularly. This is the second time happened to me after two weeks only. The problem has been reported immediately to my closest agent. The first report didn't diagnose any defect on the truck. I consider this incident as a very high and critical safety issue.

For the past week, my 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 has had issues with the windshield wipers not working, the lights for the stability control are on as well as the lights for the air bag. In addition, the rear windows do not work. All of these could be extremely hazardous depending on the driving conditions. I have taken the vehicle to the dealer who told me it would cost roughly $1800 to repair/replace the tipm. I find this extremely disturbing considering I have had this vehicle in numerous times for other issues and they have messed with the wiring on a number of different occasions. I believe the NHTSA should immediately issue a recall for this vehicle and issue before someone gets hurt or injured or worse because of it.

Gas pedal stuck, and caused unintended accelerating while making a left turn onto a busy street. Vehicle spun out while my husband tried to get the pedal unstuck the truck spun out more and turned a 180 facing oncoming traffic back passenger tire hit against the cement median knocking the tire in and busting the axel.

Esp/bas warning lights came on while waiting in the gas lines. The truck fish tails / skids more frequently on slick / rain roads. The lights did not go out after checking fluid levels, electrical connections, etc. It appears to be a common occurrence for Ram 1500slt trucks after doing an internet search on the condition. I have not contacted the dealer yet in hopes of the condition correcting itself, but will shortly. Also, it appears to be the beginning of rust in the rear body / tow frame of the truck after less than four years.
Hit a bridge conecting strip , the truck vibrated violenty it shook so bad the stuff in the door pouches came out of the pockets. I had to pull over to the side of the road an slow down to 25mph. After that I could only drive 48mph. I was on the interstate when this happened, luckly there was no one beside us, or there would of caused an accident. Chrysler isn't onning up to the problem. The problem has happened about eight times now, I was told it was the stabilizer shock. I had the shock replaced, it would be ok for a wile , then back to the same issue. ( I was told this was the [deth wobble].

As I was approaching truck moving same direction in other lane (4 lane divided) it had a rack on top with metal siding on it not tied down cause the wind caught it a it came right into my path. I brake and steered right. And it was all over. I took it to dealer told them that it was not right they checked had not heard of any problems. Then it happend again doing 65 I was sideways into on coming traffic in split second and stopped within 150 feet if I had not counter steered as fast as anyone could. In both cases it would have rolled. Told dealer it should not be on the road. They wanted to test drive my rt truck and see if they could get it sideways I told them not on my insurance or without a test track and a wet skidpad and roll cage. Bottom line my truck is unsafe and have been waiting for something to happen. I do not drive it nowhere but work with both hands on the wheel and stability control off. I think the computer that senses a skid is not right like it made the wrong tire lock up. My truck has done it twice. Bet it can again if you want to check. Please get on this before some one is hurt or worse like I told the dealer. It could have been your wife and kids in the truck or on the road coming at a truck that was out of control and no fault of there own. I know how test for this problem.
A sensor for the transmission or computer is faulting out cousin the transmissions or gears to shift in causing it to slow down suddenly or shift down and it's not working properly.

2010 Dodge 1500 ram with less than 9000 miles sudden dangerous deceleration and abs,4wheel drive service and esp lights alarming while driving at freeway speeds. Frightening! truck seeming to cut out and applying the brakes without any input from driver. Could easily result in loss of control. Speedometer also swinging across from 0 to 65mph constantly during events.
Brake failure.
The truck will start surging between 30 -65 mph and the engine will fail causing loss of brakes and power steering. While idling the engine will rev up to 3000 rpm up and down and will also do this while in drive. While idling at a stop light the truck will surge forward like the gas pedal was pushed to the floor and I have almost hit numerous cars in front of me many different times. I have had the throttle body cleaned and replaced, egr valve replaced, and the electronic throttle control replaced by a Dodge dealership. On average, this problem occurs 5-8 times a week. To this day the problem still exists (7/29/2010).
