Latches/locks/linkage Problems of Dodge Ram 1500 - part 2

As the truck was being driven down the road, approx. 40 mph the hood of the truck flipped up and off. The hood was hanging off the side of the truck.

My 2001 Dodge 1500 truck experienced hood latch failure while driving today, 10-3-08. I had the hood open earlier in the day and closed it the same way I've done for 7 years, which is with enough force to latch the hood. Five minutes into my drive to pick up my daughter and driving appx. 30 mph, the hood unlatched and flip completely up onto the windshield. Fortunately neither myself, my son or others were hurt when I had to stomp the breaks and get off the road. The hinges and hood are both bent. I came across the NHTSA action number : pe08047 while I was on the net attempting to find out how to fix the damage. Please include me as part of the complaint file. Thank you, glenn zimmerman.

I was driving my 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 pick-up truck at approximately 30 miles per hour and the hood flew open, completely blocking my view. The hood and hood hinges were damaged and the windshield was cracked and required replacing.

While driving down the road, the hood latch on my 2000 Dodge Ram 1500 released. This caused the hood to fly up, crashing into the windshield. The windshield shattered, the hood twisted beyond repair, and the hood springs were completely mangled. I found an article on consumer affairs showing that there have been 30 consumer complaints regarding the same incident. We have filed a claim w/ the insurance company for severe damages.

My dealer, united Dodge of las vegas, is unable to remedy a recall, (g28) park shift lock defect, in a reasonable amount of time(over 9 weeks) due to Chrysler corp. Only sending two parts a week.

I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 and the dashboard has multiple cracks in it. I went to the Dodge dealer and the say they haven't had any complaints on the dashboard. That's bull ,my father has a 2500 Dodge and he has the exact same problem with his dash. It's a problem Dodge doesn't want to address.

Latch on back glass window is made of thin plastic at the hinges, causing falure with limited use. Without a proper latch the window can open, and a child could climb or fall out. A broken peice of latch could also be a chocking hazard.

Cup holders in my 1996 Dodge pu are not safe. Drinking cup or cups have tipped over when cornering or turning and have resulted in very hot spills on my lower leg.
