Dash has completely caved in, started cracking and continued to until whole top is gone.
1999 Dodge 2500 dashboard falling apart big cracks and pieces falling in.
The dash has broken into several pieces (this is a serious safety issue) and is no longer intact or attached to the mounting areas. It started with one little crack and then larger pieces began breaking free. The edges are very sharp and will cut you. Upon any kind of impact to the vehicle, pieces will fly into the eyes, face, body and the driver or occupants will be injured. This is a serious safety issue. The truck is not safe to operate/drive with the dash in this condition.
Dash pad on top of dash started cracking into pieces. Could be dangerous in a crash or air bag deployment.

I have a cracked dash on my truck and I am concerned that this will become a safety issue. The vehicle is well taken care of and it makes the vehicle appear cheap and poorly manufactured. I will need to replace my dash as it continues to get worse, I am concerned that it will effect airbag deployment in a crash.

I have a 1999 Dodge cummins with the "typical" cracked dash. The truck was purchased with the cracked dash. I have gone to many junk yards trying to find a replacement for it (since Dodge wants to much) and every truck I have found is in the same condition, it is obviously a common problem. Some dash's have even collapsed because of these cracks.
The steering in this vehicle is terrible when braking,the dashboard is craked and broken very bad in several places Dodge wants to do nothing about these problems. When I apply the brakes the vehicle pulls very hard,this is not an allignment I have had that done changed the rotors the whole 9 yards still the same problem. The dash started out as a little crack now it is broken in several places. This is ridiculous. I will never purchase another Dodge they dont stand behind there vehicles.
I have a 1999 Dodge 2500 truck that started with one crack in the dash and each week I seem to get another. They are now approaching the passenger side air bag. I worry that one day I will be driving and the dash will just come apart. I am sure that in any kind of front end crash pieces of dash would fly all over the cab of the truck.
