I purchased the truck with 124,000 miles and noticed the dash was cracked on my drive from tennessee back to florida. It makes noise, looks like crap, and keeps me from setting anything on the dash board. This is something that is veryyyyyyyyyyyyy common on Dodges, if not a right of passage. They need to address the issues and step up and take care of Dodge owners. Dodge, you were cheap on the manufacturing, now you need to make it right.
Well have you heard of the "death wobble!!!?????" google this and it will tell you exactly! my husbands truck hops at 70 mph on the freeway almost causing a huge accident! why the hell after all the complaints nothing has been done with this issue! thousands of people are talking about this online!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.
I have a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500,as of this evening I had all the major steering components replaced, at a cost of nearly $2500. 00 to solve what is commomly known as the Dodge death wobble, the first expansion joint in the road, after I pick my truck up, caused my truck to shake violently, and nearly out of control again. This is not the first time this has happened, Dodge wont admit that there is a problem and keeps selling me replacement parts without any resolve. The violent shaking contiues. I can not even contemplate selling this vehicle because my concience wont allow me to put another persons safety in jeoprody please help us!!! Dodge won't!!!!!!!.
Truck gets a severe wobble when it goes over rough spot in road and the wobble is so severe that it is all a person can do to hang on without wrecking to get the truck slowed and stopped.
Recently I noticed that the dash had cracked on the passenger side. It was not very noticeable from the driver's side and a passenger pointed it out. Since first noticed, the crack (tear) has continued to grow. Other than the crack in the dash, the truck looks brand new.
I'm the first owner of this vehicle and the dash started cracking at 65,000 miles. So far there are 5 different cracks.
Dashboard started to crack a few months ago, just hairline cracks at first. Now there are long cracks everywhere & the dashboard may fall in & disrupt whatever electric circuits are underneath. Local Dodge dealer wouldn't take action unless I paid for it. He said "don't use armourall" which I don't. Dodge customer assistance was no help either. There appears to be something wrong with the materials used to manufacture the dashboard. The cracks continue to expand. Afraid to drive it!.
I own a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. The dash board has one large crack/hole and multiple little cracks throuout from the drivers side to the passenger side, and front to back. The plastic is brittle and I am concerned that during a crash the pieces will become projectiles and shards that could punture airbags and people causing serious injury. I checked into replacing the part only to find that this is a problem with many of the truck lines of Dodge from 1998 through 2006 and the replacements are of the same material and would be prone to crack in short time just as the original dases had. As a former firefighter having responded to many accidents I see this as a time bomb to a death that is not neccessary if it hasn't already happened. The dash, I thought, was supposed to remain flexible for the deployment of airbags but instead will be shattered by the airbag deployment and be blown right into the face of the very person they were supposed to protect causing in all likelyhood severe injuries.
Dodge Ram 2500 dashboard is cracked in several places. The main crack is on the passenger side right by the airbag. There are several other cracks throughout the dashboard.
All Dodge ram from 2000-2005 have dash problems. They break and fall apart. They cost around $1500-1800 to get them replaced. They dont tell you when you buy it. So why does the NHTSA not do anything about it. If you have wreck and the airbags deploy, there are sharp edges in between you and the bags. They will cut your face, arms, or worse kill you. Is it going to take innocent people getting murdered by Dodge negligence for somebody to do something. They are defective. Make Dodge recall the dash and install a new safer one. I do not want people to be killed, including myself and family.
Dash has cracked from windshield to top of airbag, passenger side left of airbag. Now hole in top of dash the size of golf ball and dash constantly creeks and pops while driving.
Noticed large crack on dashboard, then covered dash with a dash mat and started noticing multiple cracks.
The grab handles on the passenger and driver sides both break too easily. These handles are dangerous to use.
Driving in freezing fog and defrost would not work. It does not work any of the time. Saw dealership who refused to fix defrost even though it has been known since 2003 that the defrost in the Dodge 2003 pickup has a faulty component.
I was driving on a four lane highway at 65-70mph. I heard a loud "snap" noise and notice the dashboard on the passanger side had a 8-12" crack on the top and about a 4-7" on the front, directly in the area of the passanger air bag. This can not be safe! it also displays some poor integrity of construction and/or materials used. Since the incident, the dash has continued to crack and split further. The Dodge dealership turned me away and explained it "wasnt their problem". . . .
Dash cracked and falling apart. Started with one crack and now have multiple cracks and is falling apart. Pieces may cause injury in the event of an accident.
The plastic dash cracked resulting in the air conditioner and defroster not operating correctly. Pieces of foam are coming out of the a/c registers and blowing into my face almost hitting me in the eye on occasion. The plastic dash is obviously made of defective material. I have never seen a dash crack into pieces this badly.
Dash started cracking around 65,000 miles and keeps cracking. The cracks have caused the dash to separate causing the defroster vents not to blow correctly across windshield ( will not defrost). Dash is starting to drop down in different areas which may cause electrical failures or electrical fire. Truck is in pristine condition ( other than dash) with only 80,000 miles.
Dash started cracking and has gotten worse over time and now the dash is breaking into sharp pieces and falling down behind dash which is rubbing against electrical wires behind dash console.
The contact owns a 2003 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact noticed two long cracks on the dashboard above the instrument panel. The dealer stated that the vehicle was out of warranty and they refused to repair it. The contact felt that this was a manufacturers defect. The current and failure mileages were 87,000.
The first occurrence was at 20000 miles, (death wobble), it did not happen for another year. Since then it has gotten more frequent, virtually every time I get on the highway. I have upgraded steering linkage to 09'. ,new track bar, steering dampner , ball joints and also the gearbox frame brace w/pitnam arm bearing kit. I still have the death wobble. I now have around 58000 mi. I love my truck, just not the wobble, I would not feel right by selling it like this.
2003 Dodge Ram 2500 cracked dash.
On air filter box, air gauge minder fell off without notice. This caused the vehicle to be driven with unfiltered air getting to the engine. . . Possibly causing severe damage.
Bought brand new 2003 Dodge ram pickup from raymond Dodge. Raymond Dodge could not find anything wrong with it. Been taking it to weathers Dodge in lima PA they cannot duplicate anything wrong with it either. 5 times in 1 year time. It is a safety hazard and they are not fixing the problem.
