Gasoline Engine problems of the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500

Four problems related to gasoline engine have been reported for the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Gasoline Engine problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2001

While driving, vehicle began acting funny, consumer noticed smoke and then vehicle caught on fire in the engine compartment, claim 37-3264-228.

2 Gasoline Engine problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2001

While driving, consumer saw smoke coming from the engine, claim 55-s396-819.

3 Gasoline Engine problem

Failure Date: 02/20/2001

When vehicle is used right after start up engine will jerk, and not operate smoothly. If engine is warmed up, this event will not occur. Dealer stated that factory is working on problem, however there is no fix available at present time.

4 Gasoline Engine problem

Failure Date: 10/25/2000

Vehicle was parked, consumer was awakened to find vehicle engulfed in flames, appears to have originated in engine area, claim 59-v609-925.
