general problems of the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500

Two problems related to power train have been reported for the 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/03/2016

Transmission does not want to shift from first to second without leaving off of the gas. Now it doesn't go into park just stays in reverse. Called repair shop and they said it happens a lot to Dodge trucks. $3,000 to replace or repair.

2 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/15/2014

The contact owns a 2001 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact stated that the fog light and the tail lights failed to illuminate without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed that the power distribution overheated and burned out. The dealer stated that the part was no longer available. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 221,000.
