Eight problems related to structure have been reported for the 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Dashboard cover began falling apart for no apparent reason. The deterioration first appears as cracking that later opens up gaps in the dash. Numerous sharp edges are created on the dash. It is unknown whether or not the deterioration affects the airbags. Dashboard deterioration started last summer while the truck was parked. I park outside, so the inside of the truck is exposed to normal arkansas summer temperatures, but every other vehicle I've owned has been exposed to similar conditions without this ever happening before.
The contact owns a 2002 Dodge Ram 2500. The contact noticed that the dashboard was abnormal in June 2008. In September of 2009, he was walking toward the vehicle and noticed a hole in the dashboard and that it was caving inward. The manufacturer advised him that they were unable to offer him any assistance since it was not a safety issue. The manufacturer later stated that they would pay 25% towards the repair if it was repaired at an authorized dealer. The vehicle had not been repaired. The current mileage was approximately 132,000. The dashboard on my 2002 Dodge ram pickup has started to crack with no apparent reason. The cracks are growing and there are more populated.
I have a 2002 Dodge truck 2500 diesel. The dash busted right after I bought ,I had to buy a cover to put over it to keep it from falling apart. I know other Dodge trucks have the same problem. I have check them when I would see them in the parking lots and other places. I think this should be checked into and be a recall on them. Thank you.
My 2002 Dodge Ram 2500 pickup dash board is disintegrating. It has been well taken care of and I have not used any solvents or products on it for cleaning other than soap and water. I also have a 1999 Dodge ram that did the exact same thing. It is a disgrace. Pieces were nearly swallowed by my young child!.
